Hello, Everyone

I'll keep this short.

What does BTC mean to you?

Some may say freedom others  say hope in a world of restriction, love to hear your responses.
Bitcoin to me is a wealth acquisition strategy that represents a long-term investment.I don't care what people think about it,I use it as an investment asset through the "dip and hold" strategy. It means buying BTC when its price experiences a temporary decline or "dip" in value and then holding onto it for an extended period, typically with the expectation that its price will eventually recover and potentially increase in value over time.I consistently buy bitcoins during price dips, with the goal of minimizing losses and accumulating more coins over time. However, I exercise caution and risk only a small portion of my portfolio, acknowledging the uncertainty of the future. While I believe in the potential for significant returns, I recognize that realizing significant profits may require patience, as significant appreciation may take months or even years to materialize. Overall, Bitcoin represents a calculated investment choice that aligns with my risk tolerance and long-term financial goals.
4  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Bitcoin is one world currency on: February 03, 2024, 09:00:08 AM
How would it be if there was only one currency in the whole world, then there would be no hassles, no exchange problems, we could use the same thing everywhere, and there would be no inflation. One world Bitcoin currency, why need this ? If there was a single global currency, businesses would not have to deal with different exchange rates and currency conversions, which would speed up transactions and save administrative costs.A universal currency would improve the stability of international trade and investment by lowering exchange rate fluctuations. The effectiveness of global trade could be increased by lowering transaction costs associated with international trade and finance by doing away with the need for currency conversio[Suspicious link removed]ices would be easier for businesses and customers to compare across national borders if they were all stated in the same currency, which would increase competition and transparency.A single currency could promote economic integration among nations, similar to the effects of a common currency within a single country, potentially leading to increased trade and economic cooperation.

However, it's important to note that while these benefits are theoretically appealing, the practical implementation of such a system would pose significant challenges . What do you think if try to implement one currency in the world ?

6  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The importance of mental health on: January 29, 2024, 03:46:11 PM
Mental health is crucial in all aspects of life, including cryptocurrency investment. The volatility and unpredictability of the cryptocurrency market can induce stress, anxiety, and emotional highs and lows in investors.
Firstly, the constant fluctuation in prices can lead to emotional distress for investors, especially those who are new to the market or have a significant portion of their wealth tied up in cryptocurrencies. Sudden drops in value can cause panic and fear, leading to impulsive decision-making such as panic selling or FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) buying. On the other hand, rapid price increases can trigger euphoria and overconfidence, leading investors to take on excessive risks or ignore warning signs.
Secondly, the pressure to constantly monitor the market and make decisions based on short-term price movements can take a toll on mental well-being. This obsession with minute-to-minute price changes can lead to sleep disturbances, difficulty concentrating on other aspects of life, and a sense of being constantly on edge.
Thirdly, the social aspect of cryptocurrency investment can also impact mental health. Discussions on online forums or social media platforms can sometimes be toxic, with individuals boasting about their gains or ridiculing those who have suffered losses. This can create feelings of inadequacy, jealousy, or self-doubt among investors, leading to negative emotional consequences.
Maintaining good mental health is essential for navigating the ups and downs of cryptocurrency investment. Strategies such as setting clear investment goals, diversifying one's portfolio, and practicing mindfulness techniques to manage stress and emotions can all contribute to a healthier and more sustainable approach to investing in cryptocurrencies.

7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 28, 2024, 04:23:35 PM

"Buy the dip & hold" is a popular investment strategy in the cryptocurrency market as well as traditional financial markets. The basic idea behind this strategy is to buy assets at low prices and take advantage of price declines or recessions by holding them for the long term. Buying the dip allows investors to purchase assets at prices lower than their recent highs. This can potentially increase the overall return on investment if asset prices rebound later.Holding assets over the long term, even during market downturns, allows investors to benefit from the potential growth of assets over time.By sticking to the "buy the dip and hold" strategy, investors can avoid making emotional decisions based on short-term market fluctuations. This can help reduce panic selling tendencies during market downturns, which often lead to losses.
"Bye the dip & hold" can also be combined with dollar-cost averaging where investors regularly buy a fixed dollar amount over time regardless of price. This can help smooth out the effects of market volatility and potentially lower the average purchase price over time. Buying the dip and holding assets is aligned with belief in the long-term fundamentals of the asset. It implies confidence in the underlying technology and the potential for future adoption and growth.

Cryptocurrencies, in particular, have shown significant growth over the years, making them attractive for long-term holding strategies. I love this strategy and always suggest it to everyone.
8  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: All professions are important on: January 27, 2024, 08:26:54 AM
I gree well-well say all professions dey important. Each one na im get im own unique way to take contribute to how society dey run and develop. Whether na doctors wey dey save lives, teachers wey dey educate future generations, engineers wey dey build infrastructure, or artists wey dey inspire creativity, every profession get im own key role to play for how we take shape the world we dey live inside. E dey important make we recognize and appreciate the value of every profession and the people wey dey dedicate themselves to their work.

Currently Altcoins are start growing and crypto market condition is pretty good as every where is green. And many of us expected that, bull will come soon and so people already start analysis for which altcoins should buy and could be best investment for bull run. But as we know, market goes a little down when it comes to BTC Halving, which will be happened probably on 24th april, 2024.
So are you going to pick your altcoins Now??  Or During/After BTC Halving while you can buy altcoins with low price?

I just think for those reasons that is it wise decision to invest Altcoins before Bitcoin Halving because many listed of coingecko Altcoins are died and the total spoil Altcoins amount are make investors confused .Here is the prove and recent speculation.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How fast can one achieve Crypto millionaire status with meme coin? on: January 25, 2024, 05:44:01 AM
Interestingly, Meme coins are becoming more and more popular with significant indicators of the bull market. They're a cool type of cryptocurrency that combines internet memes inspired by popular memes and cultural trends. With the advanced technology like the Solana blockchain, these coins brings people together who are excited about and hold such tokens. While Meme coins are very risky, investors are excited to throw in their funds and if you ask them, they'll tell you that individuals who invest in meme coins before they become popular, it is possible for them to become wealthy or at least earn some money.

I read an analysis of Shiba Inu (SHIB) coin, which was launched in 2020. It was clear that purchasing $11.87 worth of SHIB at that time, an investor could have become a millionaire only one year and three months later because of its significant price increase. I need your opinion here, how fast can one achieve a millionaire status with meme coin? Asking because, after my analysis of the profit ratio of the likes of Shiba Inu, Pepe, Bonk etc, I am also on the look out for good meme coins to try out. The recent one I found and still considering is Dogwifhat WIF recently listed on Bitget, Raydium and other cex probably or what do you all think? Can we truly become Millionaires with meme coins?

In my opinion meme tokens often gain popularity due to social media trends and community engagement. Some meme tokens that were popular at the time included Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and SafeMoon (SAFEMOON).However, the cryptocurrency market is extremely volatile, and the popularity of meme tokens can change quickly. It is essential to do your own research and consider the risks before investing in any cryptocurrency, especially when it comes to meme tokens. In the near future, like this meme token, the probability of becoming a millionaire by investing an amount equal to $11 worth in meme token is very low, 0.001%, but hope is everyone's personal freedom, in that case, there is a matter of luck.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptocurrency Ice - scam. on: January 25, 2024, 04:58:57 AM

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins: Over 50% of Cryptocurrencies Have Failed on: January 25, 2024, 04:22:13 AM
https://www.coingecko.com/research/publications/how-many-cryptocurrencies-failed
"How Many Crypto Coins Have Died?
Over 50% of all cryptocurrencies have died. Of the over 24,000 cryptocurrencies listed on CoinGecko since 2014, 14,039 have died.

Most dead cryptocurrencies came from projects launched during the 2020 - 2021 bull run. 7,530 cryptocurrencies from that period have died, accounting for 53.6% of all dead cryptocurrencies on CoinGecko. Over 11,000 cryptocurrencies were listed on CoinGecko during the previous bull run, with ~70% having shut down since."

___
Officially, only 50% are scam and unsuccessful projects
Wow. 24000 Cryptocurrencies. that is a huge amount of cryptocurrencies. and I think that is why 50% of them failed. too much of something is never a good thing. I am sure another 50% of active coins are also don't worth anything. and most of them will be dead too sooner or later.
CoinGecko literally listed every single shit token/coin out there. Coinmarketcap have 8700 coins listed. and I was thinking that is huge. CoinGecko made a lot of money from all those dead coins as a listing fee I think. lol
Except 200 to 300 Cryptocurrencies. rest of them all are worthless.

That's why in my opinion, a specific policy should be made to keep these cryptocurrencies alive. By doing this, ordinary investors who are there will have many benefits and will be saved from financial losses.
13  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Have you benefited from SOCIAL MEDIA AD? on: January 22, 2024, 02:00:16 PM
Plenty people get different experience with social media ads. Some talk say dem dey useful, dem dey see things wey dem like. Others talk say e dey disturb dem or e no get sense. E really depend on person preference and how the ads relate to dem. For my own personal experience, e dey disturb me well and e no get sense.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in your country. on: January 21, 2024, 10:09:33 AM
As of May 28, 2023, the Nigerian government don sign di finance act 2023 into law, and e carry 10% tax on gains from digital assets. Despite this, the government still dey ban cryptocurrency transactions for the country. This na di situation for where I dey live, and e dey cause confusion between the government and the people about Bitcoin and other crypto currencies. Abeg, if you get more information or data about investments for Nigeria, Nigeria gained investment in Bitcoin. How long this system go continue, nobody sabi because dem never give certificate wey talk say Bitcoin or crypto currency dey legal for Nigeria.
16  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why people dey fear to invest in Bitcoin and crypto? on: January 19, 2024, 07:11:20 PM
Some people no go gree exchange Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies for various reasons. First reason be say dem no sabi anything about Bitcoin, and because of say dem no sabi, dem fit yan bad things about Bitcoin give people. The price of Bitcoin fit jaga anyhow, fit bring money but fit bring wahala too. Security matter dey like hacking or fraud for wallet and exchange. Plus, Bitcoin never get legal status for many countries for this world. Na why, many people dey fear to put money for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. But those wey sabi Bitcoin well dey enjoy the financial freedom wey e bring.

The young ones na the power wey dey move our country, so if dem fit build themselves well, our country and people go surely see better days. 18  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Are you following your purpose or money? on: January 19, 2024, 05:43:42 AM
If person never chop for three days because money no dey, if you ask am wetin e wan for life, e fit just forget all hin big dreams and ask for food to save hin life. People get different aims for life. Some dey focus on their life purpose or passion, dem dey find joy and personal satisfaction. Others dey look for money goals, dem dey waka with the need for steady life, security, or to fit live a certain kind life. Many people dey find middle ground between chasing their passion and making sure say dem get money. E dey personal choice, and e dey follow values, priority, and the person individual situation.
19  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reason we must do more to be earning in dollars on: January 19, 2024, 04:39:50 AM
Good morning my country people, how ona dy, hope you all slept well.

As we dey this country so we dey see how tins dey go, how inflation don take over the price of everything for we country, in this situation we find our self, I just want us, make we stop to dey complain and stop feeling pity for our selves and look for way forward, and that way na  how we fit dey earn in dollars, because if we look at price of dollar now, e really make sense say we fit use am fight inflation.

Loook am from this angle now, if 100 dollars dey fit pay ur bills before, e go still pay all your bills today because before 100 dollars na 75k, but now na120k plus.
So my country people, anything or business wey we know say we go fit do in dollars, wey go make us earn in dollars, abeg make we do am, as long as no be wuruwuru or wayo make we try do am to lighten our burden.

Earning money for dollars fit no be complete solution to these wahala. E no dey easy to run family as papa for this current matter. The way wey prices dey go up, dollar wahala, and lack of work don make daily life tough well-well. For this kind situation, wetin common people fit do?

For my mind, some things fit dey wey we Niger people fit do, and the rest, government and Niger people fit join hand do am together. For example, if government fit make law say make import and export transactions dey happen with Naira instead of dollars to reduce wahala with prices, and them fit also create jobs for Nigerians to fight unemployment, e fit help the situation. E fit be one way wey fit bring solution, but other ways fit dey wey fit solve the matter too.
20  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Your knowledge from school de help you abi e no de help you? on: January 17, 2024, 11:41:20 AM
I dey feel you, bro. When groceries prices dey go up, na so inflation dey show face for real life. I agree with you say knowledge dey give us freedom and understanding. School knowledge fit really help for life; if I bin dey more attentive for school, I fit don be college professor by now. And I also dey appreciate the new possibilities wey digital currency like crypto and Bitcoin dey bring. I hope say for the future, every school go dey teach students about digital currency.
