1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stopping the curse of losing streak? on: April 08, 2024, 11:01:50 AM
Glad to hear that you have recovered from your 3 weeks losses. For me, when I lose when gambling, it doesn't affect me that much because I gamble with what I can afford to lose. Although it doesn't affect me that much, I still have this habit when I lose, I take a break or even play again the next time when I have enough funds to gamble. When I'm experiencing loss during my play, I always tend to switch different games to see how will play from trying out different games. Thinking that maybe it's the game why I'm losing consistently haha. But so far, switching on different games also helped me to recover some of my losses. And when I switch games and still lose, that's the time I stop and try my luck again the next time I play.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you consider yourself, the family and gambling? on: April 08, 2024, 10:14:43 AM
1. At what age will you allow your child to start gambling? that is if you will even allow for that at all?
2. At what age do you see yourself quit gambling? that is also if some of us are going to ever do so?
3. Ever since you have started gambling, have you ever achieve a satisfying level that makes you think it has good impact on you?
4. Would you have missed out on anything if you were not a gambler?
1. I'll allow my kids to gamble when they are in the legal age of 18. But as much as possible I do not want to push them into gambling.
2. I'm not sure. Probably around 50-ish? Idk to be honest. Maybe, as much as I have an amount that I can afford to lose and enjoy to gamble away all my stress in life away haha.
3. So far, gambling had made some good impacts in my life and helped me financially. I was able to treat myself, reduced stress, and even help and treat my family from my winnings.
4. No, not at all. I haven't missed out anything because of gambling.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun and not a way of making money on: April 06, 2024, 08:22:43 AM
I only gamble for fun, it's my escape to relieve my stress and boredom. I always make sure that I only gamble with only at least 5% of my salary so it won't hurt much when I lose. I only wanted to see how my play will go. If I win, then I'm lucky. If I lose, it's okay because I only gamble with what I can afford to lose. It's all about having fun, and when you win, it's a plus. Do not stress yourselves because of gambling. We should all just enjoy and have fun.

Sorry to hear about the challenges your family is facing rn because of your brother-in-law's gambling addiction. He should take the consequences of his actions. Rehabilitation is a good step to address his addiction and hoping he'll be rehabilitated soon. Rehabilitation is helpful for him to be enlightened of what he did and maybe encourage him to seek employment. Hoping that his family will work together, have open communication with him, support and will be able to convince him to participate in support groups or programs for individuals with gambling addiction that will help him recover.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: April 05, 2024, 07:08:36 AM
Of course, gambling gives me this feeling of excitement whenever I start to gamble. It motivates me in a way of wanting to see what will be the outcome or results of today's activity haha. I always gambles for fun or entertainment purposes only. Winning from gambling is only a plus. Gambling would always be my escape from stress. And playing with friends would always give me such happiness.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: April 05, 2024, 07:05:10 AM
I also have been watching these kinds of videos recently. Curious about the stories of different gamblers on how gambling affected their life. Different gamblers, different stories. It's just sad to see how their life turned because of gambling addiction. But I'm also happy that they were able to get up from themselves and recover slowly from addiction. It makes me proud of them for how tough they have been through. It also makes me proud of those who overcome their addiction because it takes a lot of courage and support to overcome such a situation. I hope for the gamblers out there who also face these kinds of situations or addictions, I hope you'll also overcome all the challenges that you are facing. Always remember that you are not alone.
7  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling addiction is not about the money you could win; it's about the "win" on: April 04, 2024, 08:57:09 AM
It's their way of escape. Escape from daily life pressure or stress. It's not about the money to them, money is only a plus, it's all about the experience for them. The excitement, and fun being with their peers, and the lifestyle it represents. We should remember that addiction can happen to everyone regardless of wealth or financial status.
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: April 04, 2024, 08:30:38 AM
He should learn how to handle his money well. He can start by limiting his budget in gambling. Take only few percentage on his salary. He can still even gamble with small amount of set budget. Atleast, this way, it will not hurt much his budget or salary. He can control his finances well. He can also get saving account to put his money. He can also try taking break from gambling. Try to make him realize what he is facing right know to enlighten himself. If you think these cannot help him, or he cannot help himself, then it's much better for him to seek professional help.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: April 03, 2024, 08:19:07 AM
Although it has many qualities that are similar to gambling, such as luck, odds, and involves risking money, I don't think claw machines should be considered gambling. Because in claw machine any age can play the game, gambling has age restrictions when playing the games. Claw machines is a form of entertainment where you can get physical toys or plushies, although gambling is also seen as entertainment, claw machines are different in a way as for fun or challenge, than in gambling as risk-taking or financial gain or expectation of winning money.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 03, 2024, 08:05:54 AM
Personally, I've never tried going all-in, it's too risky. I prefer to stick to smaller bets to minimize potential losses and to manage my bankroll. It's important to find a strategy that works best for you and for you to track your progress.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: April 03, 2024, 07:09:47 AM
It's important to note that everyone has different experiences, what causes regret for one person may not necessarily be the same for another. For some, they view gambling as a form of entertainment or recreation and while maybe your friend's gambling experience led to negative consequences in his life that's why he is experiencing regret. If your friend continues to experience regret and causing him distress and harm, maybe you should recommend him to seek support or professional help.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: April 02, 2024, 08:02:16 AM
Being impatient would always lead us to regrettable decisions. So always take time to assess situations carefully before making decisions. Although there are times that mistakes or being impatient result to outcome that we are not expecting, it will still serve as  lesson on your next bet.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 02, 2024, 07:43:40 AM
You are right, many people may not realize the potential dangers of gambling when they start gambling, especially beginners, that's why understanding the risk, education, and awareness are key to reducing gambling addiction. Gambling companies should always prioritize responsible gambling, player's well-being and take proactive steps to address the issue of addiction.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can family members help a gambling addict? on: April 01, 2024, 08:34:06 AM
Telling your friend's loved ones is a big step and should be approached carefully. Consider your relationship with both your friend and their family and how their family might react before deciding. If you think involving his family could provide support without causing more harm, it might be worth considering. Family support can make a big difference, but it depends on the situation. Encouraging your friend to seek professional help or attend support groups can also be helpful.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What nature of the the rewarding games would you prefer playing with friends on: March 30, 2024, 07:52:35 AM
I used to play card games with my friends before. A friendly game wherein we go buy snacks at the grocery for the prices. Every time we end the match, the winner would get the snack he/he like from the plastic bag. We prefer doing these kinds of rewards to ensure that everyone will have fun than making punishment to the loser of the game. But unfortunately, my friends and I do not do this kinds of activities nowadays since everyone are busy with work and priorities. I honestly kinda miss the old days haha.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 30, 2024, 07:20:50 AM
I feel you. It;s natural to feel disappointed after a loss. I actually sometimes ask the same question on myself when I feel frustrated about the result of the game I didnt expect to come out as expected. Which later made me realize that wins and losses are part of the game. And in order for me to not feel the same thing again, I just set a budget, gambling with what I can afford to lose.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does prediction in sport work for you? on: March 30, 2024, 07:09:57 AM
I honestly do not mostly rely on predictions when I make bets on sports. I only check prediction site when I'm hesitant with my own predictions. I'm not really a sport fan, so I mostly bet on the sports and players I'm mostly familiar with. Making my own predictions gives me this feeling of thrill, especially when I see successful results from my own predictions, which makes me proud of myself haha.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: March 28, 2024, 08:31:51 AM
My rule is to bet with my head and not my heart. Bets to be successful is by making rational decision based on facts, statistics, and analysis, and not by cloud emotion or even loyalty/favorite team or player. If you let emotions win, it will only lead to impulsive bets that can result with losses. Bet smart, make informed and profitable decisions.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: User experience Trends in Online Gambling: What's Next? on: March 28, 2024, 08:18:39 AM
For an online casino, I look first if it's legit/trusted casino with good promotions, deposit bonuses, fast deposit and withdrawals. good customer support that can answer all my queries and concerns quickly and of course the loyalty rewards that will make me stay or stick with that casino because I know that they give good perks and benefits with their players.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: March 28, 2024, 07:58:19 AM
I agree with you. Although I may not have kids, but I have siblings and nephews. As much as possible I gamble when I'm in my room or I'm alone. I do not let kids see me gamble. Kids are very curious about what they see and always ask about it. So, it's better for them to not be exposed with gambling activities as it would always affect or influence their behavior and attitude. Keep gambling out of kids sight, and if they see, have an open communication about the potential harm of gambling.
