1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Preparing to BUY IN to altcoins again soon, find the flaws in my plan. on: March 27, 2025, 01:08:20 AM
You're nuts for leaving out Monero (XMR).

The only coin with no downside risk and massive profit potential.

It's like Bitcoin was in 2014.

Monero (XMR). It's like Bitcoin was in 2014.

Huge community of existing users, great and proven dev team, best available privacy, and price is artificially suppressed because of a lack of "institutional" support... that is probably coming soon.

4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Does Bitcoin Mixing Still Work To Make Your Crypto Anonymous? (Article) on: October 30, 2024, 09:56:35 AM
Short answer: no. Not in 2024 and beyond.

Bitcoin mixing, also often called bitcoin tumbling, is a way people attempt to hide the source of their crypto. Since all Bitcoin transactions, and those of other major crypto currencies like Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC), are on a public ledger called the blockchain, the source of anyone’s coins can be easily traced by everyone.

For many years, people used services called mixers to hide the origin of their bitcoins. These services would accept your Bitcoin deposit, add it to their pool of funds, and then send you different coins from their pool, minus a service fee. For a time, this way an effective way of obfuscating the origins of your funds.

Unfortunately for crypto enthusiasts, criminals have used this ability to make Bitcoin anonymous for nefarious purposes… purchasing drugs on the dark web, money laundering, tax evasion, and worse. However, there are many good reasons that honest users want to hide the source of their crypto currency, and where they send it. Most people wouldn’t want every store that swipes their credit card to know how much money they have in the bank, exactly when and where they got it, and every other place they have ever used their card. That is exactly what happens when you use Bitcoin normally.

I've used Xchange.cx a bunch of times recently. They only charge 1% for nearly instant trades, with no signup or KYC required.

I'll PM you my affiliate code, if you don't mind (don't think I'm allowed to post it here).

That seems to be just what I need!

I will give them a try, thank you.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / How can I anonymously get Monero with Bitcoin or Ethereum? on: April 09, 2024, 12:50:50 AM
I'm wondering what the best ways to get Monero without linking it to my Coinbase account are. With the lowest fees possible, of course.
