It has been in customs for 2 weeks(and counting) + 32%tax on a super inflated invoice they attached to the package. I bought the items with Bitcoin not Dollar nor any other government currency. They tacked on a ridiculous Dollar amount to an invoice and left me out to dry.
You mean the invoice is much more expensive then what you actually paid? Exactly

What a horrible experience I am having with BITMAIN.
Because of their error I will have to pay a 32% tax to get my packages out of customs.
Every time I contact them all they do is brush off my concerns and questions. Customs has been trying to contact them for 14 days to clear up the situation and they offer no assistance. All they do is respond by saying it is my problem to deal with.
Buyers beware. Don't expect any customer service/help after they have received your coin. BITMAINTECH - What a ripoff!

It's really simple. An overclocked S3 will use right around 30A on the 12V rail. This PSU can supply 108A, which is enough for 3 Ants.
cool thanks.... what would happen to 1/2 of a 4th antminer if connected, if possible. would it mine without the other side being connected? Is it too much? or simply cant be done because of pcie connections I would be sure to unplug the unused side completely from inside the case if you were gonna do that. As long as you were only powering the side that also had the controller, it should work... *should*. If you're that pressed for power, DON'T overclock. That PSU may only be able to handle 3 Ants when they're OC'd (and pull 30A), but you may be able to squeeze 4 in there if you run at stock clocks and are only pulling 25A per ant. Actually, if you log into the S3s, there's an even lower than stock speed at 212MHz, which would ensure that you're under 25A/ant, which would let you power all 4 on that PSU. It's really simple.
I take it back. Thanks.. Looking at the pictures of the PSU was tripping me up. The specs say it has 8 pcie connections but I was only seeing 4 connections(modular). I'm assuming the other 4 connections are fixed but on jonnyguru, he states only 6 on the chart http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=258

a month away till the next batch? The prices would be good if it shipped in the next 2 weeks, but 4 weeks away the network difficulty will be about 30% more than it is today
todays price of 0.66 / 1.30 = 0.51BTC would be a more fair price
S3+ has much more potential to over clock as the PCB design is revised. I second that... (0.51Btc)

If you are on a different pool, test your pools server. Bear in mind P2Pool mining requires a bit better connection to be successful than most traditional pools like BTC Guild or Eligus St. This pic is a snip from Coin Cadence home page. awesome thanks... ping to P2Pool is 75ms ping to btcguild is 101ms
|
|
|
Trust me, they will do very well. Mining hardware does not require any valuable bandwidth. what about ping? average 101ms

|
|
How much of a factor is internet speed in mining? 1.0Mbps download .28Mbps Upload Can 4 s3's run off of this and do well? Thanks

I went to "buy bitcoins"
Then in the box for location I put "dominican republic"
Then I copy/pasted the results here.
Not sure why you would not get the same results as me.
Oh, I was logged into my account. Don't know if it makes a difference if you are logged in or not.

I'm looking to buy bitcoin (3btc)... Localbitcoins hasn't been any help.. nor has Coinbase. Can anyone point me in a direction? Thanks Why specifically could you not find a seller on localbitcoins? There are dozens and dozens of sellers that take everything from WU to PayPal to cash in person. I can understand if there is nobody near you to do a face-to-face cash transaction but there are many that will take cash directly into their bank account, cash in the mail, etc. etc. What exactly are you looking for? I'm probably searching wrong on localbitcoins. What I have seen on there is a lot of price gouging. Face to face transactions is out of the question, no one near me. I can do paypal... I will search again on localbitcoins

nice... I'm in a country that is not very accessible to such electronics ("3rd world"), so I have to keep in mind a few factors when purchasing, since it will take while to replace items that go bad, if I'm able to at all. (eg if a PSU funks out on me can the other(s) handle the load of an additional miner) Watts isn't a big deal where I am, cheap
So, 4 is an awkward number of miners to buy PSU's in a configuration suitable for that type of an over-build, without just ordering a 5th PSU to keep as a spare. If it were 6 miners, you'd say buy 3 1300's, and if one goes bad, 2 1300's can still handle 6xS3's. However keep in mind it is possible to run one miner from 2 separate PSU's, as long as they are going to separate blades on the miner. So, what you could do, is buy four quality 750w PSU's (make sure they have 4xPCIe cables each), then you have plenty to overclock them all safely. Then, if 1 PSU goes bad you should be OK to run 3xS3 from 2x750w PSU at least at stock speed, or maybe with a small overclock. the four 750's sounds like a good idea I'm testing the waters with mining. I'm a bit reluctant about forking out more than the cost for four s3's and the PSU's(+misc)
