1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In 1v1 Pvp Games, there is no need for a provably fair system. on: June 05, 2024, 12:58:36 AM
In 1v1 pvp games, there is no need for a fair system, because you and the player can verify, the results immediately.

If a 1v1 pvp game, was rigged, it would be immediately uncovered.

Likewise, 1v1 pvp games, do not require provably fair, to the extent of casino games, like slots.

Because all results, can be cross checked and pen tested by users immediately, without a fair system.

Just providing this information, so users are aware, of this update, in gambling overall.

I am inherit about this, because pvp games, are a better way to gamble.

Versus having the casino siphon your money, and disperse it in areas, you are not familiar with.

At least with 1v1 pvp, games, I can invite my friend, well run a game for 5$ and check the system out.

And immediately, we know if something is wrong, because if the money didn't go to one of us, who did it go to?

Something is wrong, something is rigged, let's not play here, johnny.

Users can work together, to discern these legitimate sources.

It is up to these pvp organizations, to provide you chatrooms, so you can then verify in chat, if you lost, 'Johnny did you get the money?'

If johnny says no and he won, then something is up.

Likewise, if you win, and don't receive anything flag it.

Working together like this, we don't need to read complex code, or hash algorithms, to decipher, the legitimacy, of results.

for example, if you are playing coinflip you are 50 50 to get 100% of your amount (- casino house edge, but you get what I mean) and if you are playing something like case battles you are 50 50 to get your "victory" but you don't know the amount you'll get. that's why provably fair is needed there, also how can I know i'm playing against real player and not casino. to sum up, provably fair in online casinos is MUST.
2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: best BTC API? (dev) on: June 04, 2024, 12:09:10 AM
More of a comment to the OP but it also matters what you are doing with it.

You need the best car.....
Are you doing around town deliverers with it?
Are you doing long road trips with it?
Do you just need it to go a few miles to and from work?
Do you need to have your large family in it comfortably?
and so on.

The answer to what car depends on it's use.

There are a bunch of APIs that work well, but there are some better then others for certain tasks.

i understand your point, sorry i didn't show my intentions more clear. anyways, i want best BTC API to make live bitcoin price tracker for my website.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SHA-256 CPU support - experiences? on: May 29, 2024, 01:38:36 PM
i'm currently working on few projects, i want to use SHA-256 CPU support for hashing because it is more performant than JS native implementation. i tried to get details about this topic on web (stack overflow and few more forums), but i couldn't find clear answer to my question. if you have knowledge in cryptography, reply here Cheesy

8  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / SHA-256 CPU support on: May 29, 2024, 01:39:27 AM
imam par projekata, zelim koristiti SHA-256 CPU support za hashanje jer je puno ucinkovitije od JavaScript funkcija sa izvornom implementacijom. pokusao sam detalje o SHA-256 CPU supportu pronaci preko neta (stack overflow i drugi forumi), ali nisam uspio pronaci jasno rjesenje. ako netko zna vise o ovome, pisite  Grin
9  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / razlika izmedu SHA256 i HMAC-SHA256 funkcija on: May 28, 2024, 11:48:23 PM
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did/do you handled a gambling addict story. on: May 27, 2024, 11:27:42 PM
I have one friend who was gambling addict before, he is mid-class guy (average incomes, not something too high, neither too low) and he gambled about 30.000EUR in casino.

He started gambling for fun when he was around 16-17, firstly he gambled small amount of money like 20-30EUR per session, sometimes he earned some money, sometimes he lost his money, but he somehow get addicted then. Now he is 23 years old, but when he was like 19 or 20, me and few friends of mine went to one trip all together. When we arrived at that city we went for nice lunch, and then our friend went to casino (we tried to convince him not to go since he was addicted already, by that time he already lost like 20.000EUR), but he still went to casino. He deposited like 100EUR (something around that), and he managed to get around 1.500EUR. Me and my other friends went for dinner (while he was in casino), and then he came back home and said to us that he will take us tommorow to nice dinner etc. because he "earned" 1.500EUR. I kept telling him before to stop gambling, since he is not gambling responsive, but I thought to myself - alright, at least he is not losing money, actually he withdrawed nice amount for cash (good amount for starting capital).
Everything was perfect, but next day, when we was about to go to dinner, he refused to go. We asked him why is that, and he said to us that because of that nice win, he couldn't sleep because of overthinking about that "big" win, so he went to casino and gambled all away. We got in a beef with him then, not because of money of that dinner, because how stupid and addicted he was. Also to mention, how I borrowed him few grands of EUR, thinking he will spend it for something good, he was telling me that he need money for car parts etc and obviously he gambled it away. I said to him that I will not only borrow money to him, I will not talk to him unless he get professional help from therapy. About year ago, when I got sure he is fully healed from that addiction, and he is not gambling anymore, I started talking to him again.

Gambling addiction is so fucked up because of 2 reasons; 1. you are guaranteed to lose money, since mathematically you are losing money over long-run (casino house-edge), 2. your mental is fucked up as well, you are never happy or in a peace - if you are winning money, you are chasing for a big win or if you are losing money, you are chasing your losses.

Imo gambling can be alright if you REALLY know what the hell you are doing, but if you are not responsible it will easy drag you away. (like once in a while, bet on your favourite team to win or something like that.)
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: generating fresh deposit address (Electrum) on: May 24, 2024, 01:41:14 PM
i need help with how to set-up freshly new deposit address everytime someone wants to deposit money Cheesy

If that's what you need then I already provided the link it only needs your xPub or master public key all generated deposit addresses are generated from your own wallet you fully control like the wallet you created from Electrum you can use the xPub from that wallet to import it into BTCpay all deposit addresses generated when someone wants to deposit in your site it would generate a unique unused address that you can also see in your Electrum wallet.

Better read the documentation to guide you on how to host this below

You can also watch their videos here https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCpG9WL6TJuoNfFVkaDMp9ug

thanks a lot, Cheesy

It seems you're not done yet? You didn't mention what exactly you need?

Or do you developing a payment method and you are trying to implement it on your website?

I suggest if you don't want to some control your wallet or use any centralized payment methods why not use BTCpayserver?
You can host this on your own PC and add other coins supported.

If you are interested check this link below.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / generating fresh deposit address (Electrum) on: May 23, 2024, 11:29:06 PM
i'm currently finishing up few projects, payment methodes on this project is cryptocurrency (only BTC now, i may add other soon), i want to tunnel payments through my wallet only (i don't want to use centralized ways to do this for me f.e. TripleA (https://triple-a.io/)), so i want to generate fresh deposit address with no blockchain history to avoid confusion with transactions etc. i'm using electrum wallet, and using these code languages for my website; HTML/CSS for my frontend/static, and PHP for my backend server. thanks for all answers and help, i decided to exchange XMR to BTC using "ExCh" (https://exch.cx/) and therefore sell my BTC to fiat. also can vouch about this exchanger since i didn't have any problems with this exchanger so far, anything from liquidity, time, fees etc. was good, definitely gonna use "ExCh" from now on.  Grin
15  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: bisq iskustva - novac u posiljci on: May 19, 2024, 02:44:29 PM

[ANN] Bisq - Exchange, Decentralized.
kao nacin primanja valute moze se traziti primanje novca preko posiljke (preko poste), trazim non-KYC mjenjancnicu BTC -> fiat pa sam cuo da dosta ljudi spominje Bisq, jel imas ti neku drugu ideju Cheesy
16  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / bisq iskustva - novac u posiljci on: May 19, 2024, 02:58:05 AM
