I may be considered new to the whole alt coin thing (about 6 months) but what I have yet to figure out is why people bother with fudding. I mean seriously, two things to consider;

 A. If you don't own any of a particular coin, why in the hell bother with your personal time to spend it complaining about a coin you don't own.

 B. If you do own a particular coin, that means that you have a vested and financial interest in that coin, why in the world would you bad mouth it. Wouldn't it be in your best interest for that investment to succeed. If you have lost faith in the coin, get out, cut your loses (in this case, take your profits) and go somewhere else with your hard earned money.

Ether way, fudding a board does absolutely nothing for you.

I personally think that everyone is over-dramatizing everything. Just chill out on the hyper-speculation of things and support the coin that you felt worthy of you being a part of in the first place.

I am inclined to agree, but with one caveat. The dev Bosman has said that there is a problem recruiting potential staff for the coin. That needs to be addressed as a very important part of the growth. Doge suffered a falling out between the two main players and that further createda downspiral. Management, even decentralized management is crucial to the growth and attraction of qualified members of staff, referring to my previous post.

TL;DR
We need an active community beyond generating 'nice-to-have' ideas and passively watching markets.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. What I was actually talking about but to a less extreme is, This is not dogecoin, this is not any other coin. This is Groupcoin. This is a coin of unprecedence. It just feels like even associating ourselves with other names, subliminally gives the impression that we should be thought of comparatively.

I don't know, maybe i'm just blowing crap out my ass, lol. and if that's the case, sorry

man, how do you put in an order for 70k and get all fill minus .00008% worth. 69,999.469 to be exact. I mean for real, a half a coin from completion, blah, haha

Read the whitepaper ... nice job there.

Coin-wise, what seem to be the leading contenders as far as new coin features/ideas go? I may be missing some, but at least here the following have been mentioned:

Anonymity
Reward Program
Wallet Enhancements
Mobile Wallets
Veri-bit like payment system

Some other ideas, like a QPC to Fiat processor have been mentioned, but I don't see how that would be very feasible. Any others that I have missed?

I like this list. I think it's time for proponents to step forward and add these (and other ideas) to the subreddit, here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/GROUPCoin

In order to get the ball rolling, I'm willing to giveaway some of my own coins:

  • 250 GPC to the first 5 posters of their plans/ proposals for Groupcoin on the new subreddit. Proper posts please, these will be vetted!
  • 750 GPC to the first post to receive 20 up votes on the subreddit.

This is better than free coins... this is free coins for putting forward your ideas, for your coin!

I will also be giving away coins based on comment on posts too... so stay tuned.

In years to come, people may look back on these giveaway posts and think I'm crazy... however the only way this coin will work is if we, the community invest. Be it time, money, ideas, expertise. We all need to invest and engage (it isn't enough to buy and hold and hope someone else makes the coin take off!). The time to invest and engage is now or leave crypto-currencies to the p&d merchants and scammers! Up to you guys...

#DecentralisedDonation

I completely agree, better to sacrifice a bit of your stack for it to be worth 10 time more, than waiting passively for it to happens. This is what this coin is about anyways Smiley

I'll probably do a giveaway later too once i find a good purpose for it.
Ok, so here's my only heartache about this. As I stated before in my last post, I am not a techie. I know nothing about how this stuff works and most of the language is foreign. I will heavily rely on all of you that are in the know to develop "The People's Coin".
What I am getting at is, I can help in funding giveaways and such, basically supporting my belief in the coin. What I can't do due to my own ignorance is, make a (informed) decision on the actual workings of the coin.

I don't need to profit from giveaway prizes, hell, I wouldn't even take the coin if it was given to me. I would turn around and donate it back to Dev or back into another giveaway. But I feel kinda left out as if my ignorance makes me less dedicated to the cause and future of this potentially wonderful coin.

This was just food for thought about the WHOLE community and not just those who understand the tech. I don't have the answer on how to make giveaways and such more fair to the entire community, but just keep in mind that there are some die hard supporters that do as much if not more for the growth of the coin as do most computer enthusiasts.

Thanks for listening,
Art

Haha, sorry guys, I was writing my "little" post and never noticed that the whitepaper was already out. It appears that I basically regurgitated allot of what the whitepaper said.

My apologies.

Gentlemen, ladies, Bosman. How are y'all?

Let me start by saying that this is my first post ever, on any crypto forum. With that said, I would like to tell you about my position on crypto and my experience with cryptocurrencies.

I am not a techie by any means of the word, nor do I know anything about programming or code. I am 100% end user. I have always been years behind any adoption of technology (ex. Very first Apple product (ipad2) purchased last year. I have had the same smart phone for 6 years, I still play on a PS3 which I only bought 2 years ago). What I am trying to say is that I am NOT a fad guy.

With that being said, I had found out about Bitcoin around late Dec/early Jan. Funny that it was actually the news of Mt. Gox that got me interested in researching it more. The more I learned about Blockchain, the more I became positively interested. I never did or would have jumped on the IBM, Microsoft or Cellular tech, to me (as every other non-early adapter) it was just a niche fad. Now after researching Bitcoin and the Blockchain, I can definitely see and appreciate the importance and value of this "destructive Technology".

From an investment standpoint, I told myself that unlike the IBM's and Microsoft's, I was not going to be left following the herd. Since around Feb, I started buying Bitcoin. I use it both as an investment and for it's purchasing power.

Now, with the Baskin Robin's of crypto's, Bitcoin (with the virgin algorithm) has really been the only one that I have felt was "fad proof." Always keeping my eyes open for something that I believe has the "right stuff", I had came across Groupcoin I think on the 2nd of Aug. I think what originally turned me on from the beginning was the blatant lack of promises and the democratic nature of how and what this coin would represent.
I don't Play the pump and dump game, which is a shame because there are some really useful coins out there, or at least on premise. The problem that I find with those coins are that they are mostly Niche coins. I love the fact that Groupcoin, thanks to Bosmans' vision, is a coin with no set course on what it will be. It can be whatever the "user's" chooses it to be. Bosman has giving us the means to make a coin that WE find very useful with the features that WE want in a coin. No more shopping for the coin that best describes what the individual wants, he has giving us the store to stock with whatever features the individual desires, as long as the collective of the community backs the idea.
Even with Bitcoin, which I absolutely love, it is still a coin served in a box. You get what (the Dev's) give you.

Now like I said before about not being a techie, I will not be very vocal in my suggestions about where this coin can go. But, there are allot smarter people than myself about this stuff that share the same interests about cryptocurrencies. Every other coin offered right now is developed by a small team of visionaries. Groupcoin stands apart from every other coin by that fact that there is a small team of "liaisons." Bosman is a different kind of developer visionary. I said Liaison because that is how I feel about Bosman, not as a developer. He is merely the keyboard masher that is making OUR visions a reality. When I see that I can buy into and follow the vision of a dozen or so developers, or buy into and follow a coin who's vision is of anyone willing to merely ask for it, I found the coin that I am going to back.

There are a couple reasons for my introduction today. First I would like to thank the Bitcoin Community and the Blockchain in a whole. More focused, I would like to send a very heartfelt thank you to Bosman for his unselfish belief in his fellow man, not his ability to make millions of dollars off of them, It'll come to you bro Wink Not to say that you are politician material, but if politicians cared more about "the people", like Bos, then we probably wouldn't be in here talking about this stuff to begin with.
The other reason is that I don't know allot about the inter-workings of crypto, so please forgive me and be patient with me if I happen to ask a stupid question every now and again.
<<<<<<<<<Mr. ignorant.

On that note, thanks for giving me the time to express my thanks and support for this great concept.
