1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How should I split my $100k? on: May 14, 2018, 11:50:26 AM
Hello guys, If you put $100k to crypto, how would you split it ? Thank you

My advice would be to consider investing it into 5 coins, holding too many coins would mean that you are not able to efficiently profit from any rises from a single coin, but holding just one or two coins is too much risk.

5 coins is a nice balance.

Have 1 of each: Bitcoin, one major privacy coin, one major smart contract coin, one ICO token/investment, and one small cap coin you like. I'd say have around 5% in the small cap coin, and around 24% in each for the rest. That should be a healthy portfolio.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS next on coinbase? on: May 14, 2018, 11:43:03 AM
Recently I have been thinking that its going to be EOS to be next listed on coinbase. A huge mining company are raising 100million to get a huge stake in Eos once they move on to their own blockchain. Another huge exchange is also opening its own dedicated Eos driven decentralised exchange which is also super bullish!

Coinbase have also come out and said they do supports ERC20 tokens, they have also announced new coons will be listed this year. Im getting a strong feeling one of the coins will be EOS! (I must add that there is something about broc Pearce and his connection to tether that gives me a seed of doubt)

That's going to be a huge thing for EOS if support from Coinbase is actually obtained.

If I remember correctly, LTC made a pretty big jump, so if Coinbase does actually add support for EOS it's going to benefit investors in the short run for sure.

However, it's only really going to be of value if Coinbase is able to support the ERC20 token of EOS in the next 2 weeks as the main net launch of EOS is coming extremely soon, and there is no point supporting EOS tokens then since the swap will happen for coins on the actual network of EOS.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO - Will China lift ICO ban? NEO price? on: May 14, 2018, 11:36:56 AM
hi

There are lots of NEO investors and im a big bealiver in NEO as well.

What are your thoughts on China ICO ban and its affect on NEO?
Ive seen lots of price predictions on NEO that goes as high as 1000$ in Q4 2018
Do you think that price can be achived even without China?
Is NEO undervalued because of uncertanty in China politics towards crypto?
Do you think China will lift ICO ban and if so, when?

My thoughts are, that NEO cannot be as massive as we think without China, but China will eventually lift the ban,
allthough it will implement strict regulations. I think China is affraid of idea of "decentralized everything" which
would lower goverment "surveliance" over China nation.

what are your thoghts on NEO in 2018/19 and China politics towards crypto in future.

thanks

sorry for my bad english Smiley

Chinese regulations will definitely be a huge part of NEO's future price developments, even though NEO is technically a decentralized project and doesn't really need the support of the Chinese government to succeed or gain in value. But it'll definitely be a boost if China decided to essentially "un-ban" crypto exchanges and ICOs.

I believe that it's only a matter of time before China starts regulating ICOs instead of being completely restrictive of it.

I'm bullish on NEO for the long term though, regardless of China's position of crypto. It's nice to have government support, but it's not needed as I said.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is growing. Someone's pouring money into it. on: May 14, 2018, 11:32:44 AM
Ethereum in early April was not in the best shape. ICO began to withdraw funds and the coin fell sharply to $ 400. Miners in a panic, and traders saw the picture and bought. Now ETH grew up and went to school. But thanks to what he was able rage?
Do you think EOS really affects the price of Ethereum?

If EOS rises a lot so that it can threaten the position of ETH as the number 1 altcoin in the market, then yeah, it could definitely cause some panic within the ETH investors and cause an ETH dump. However, we are nowhere near that stage yet.

ETH is currently being somewhat bullish, despite the rest of the market being bearish.

I personally think that it'll have to correct sooner or later, though. Don't be too bullish on it.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Favorite Coins Outside of top 100 on: May 14, 2018, 11:29:16 AM
Except for the top 100 on coinmarketcap.com, what are your 5 favorite coins?

Mine are:
OYSTER
SHIFT
SUNCONTRACT
ELIXIR
SONM

My favorite would be QRL (Quantum Resistant Ledger).

I think that the idea of future proof cryptocurrencies will be more and more cherished in the near future, and QRL definitely presents an interesting solution. If they are able to add more functionality like smart contracts etc., launch their project within a short period of time and potentially even rebranding their entire project's name, then I see a lot of potential.

Runner up would be Factom. No idea why it's even out of the top 100 now as it used to be extremely popular.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: best-value alt to buy post-crash on: May 14, 2018, 11:24:21 AM
Back in the dotcom days after the bubble popped, there was a notable difference between the companies that died, and the ones who were able to scrape by and subsequently go on to thrive.  That is, the survivors had a good value proposition in that they were able to save their customers money.  I won't get into the details, but think of it like hod dogs vs t-bone steaks.  In a down-turn, more hot dogs are sold.

So the question for you, dear reader, is the following:  Do you know of an alt-coin that has a really good value proposition?  What is it, and what gives it value?

I wouldn't call this a crash just yet. It's just an adjustment of price due to the fact that crypto markets have been rising for a few weeks straight, and in these situations, an adjustment is always imminent at the end.

However, it does definitely present some pretty good buying opportunities.

I would say that IOTA is an excellent buy at the current price level, so you might want to go check that out. Its product isn't completely finished yet, which is why it's so cheap. But it's got lots and lots of potential over the long run.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future of Digibyte? Does it has the potential to ever reach 1$ or more? on: May 14, 2018, 11:20:42 AM
Hi guys.....do you think digibyte will ever reach 1 dollar? i am confused between ripple and buying digibyte.....Some ppl says digibyte is better and fast than bitcoin...So why it is still low in value?

If you are considering buying ripple then perhaps DGB is the better choice.

However, I don't see Digibyte reaching $1 in any stage of its lifecycle, at least not in the near future. I don't see how DGB can be an effective currency, or serve the role that BTC serves in an economical standpoint, when it doesn't even have the necessary amount of adopters to begin with.

It's not better than BTC, it was hyped up really quick a while back and its prices skyrocketed, and now that the hype has died down, prices have fallen. There could be another pump soon, although that's all DGB is in essence. Something speculative that pumps and dumps in irregular intervals.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the bear season over yet on: May 14, 2018, 11:17:55 AM
From the beginning of this year 2018, alt coins price had fallen tremendously until the last few weeks when we beginning to experience price stabilizations and increase in market capitalization. Also most of the alt coins too have started appreciating in price. From these indications, can we confidently said that the bear season is over or is not yet a celebration time.

Far from over. The last crypto bear market back in 2014 had gone on for around 1 year, and it's hard to see this us completely out of this current bear market within just 4-5 months time. There still needs to be some more time imho.

However, I think that the dips will become smaller and smaller gradually as we consolidate.

So it's not over, but I believe the worst dumps are already in the past.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: choose cardano (ADA) or bitcoin diamond (BCD) .. ?? on: May 14, 2018, 11:13:32 AM
I have a plan to invest and I will hold up until December,
what coins are suitable in your opinion ,,?
Is it ADA or BCD .. ??
And please give your reason ..?
thanks a lot

Is this even a question?

Bitcoin Diamond is just one of many bitcoin fork coins, only thing is that it has some degree of support while many others are buried and unnoticed. Still though, I don't see it appreciating in value simply because there is nothing new on offer at all.

I'd choose Cardano over BCD any day... I would not invest in any coin that derives its value from a community airdrop/snapshot.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will EOS hit $100 in this Year? on: May 14, 2018, 11:11:44 AM
EOS in one of the top potential coin in 2018.

I hope EOS will hit $100 in this year.

What do you thinking?

You can hope that it happens but most likely, it isn't.

I think that EOS has potential to gain a lot especially after the token swap is done this year, but definitely not to the vicinity of $100 or more. That's just way too much to ask for, imho, considering that EOS has been on an uptrend ever since it first came out.

But hey, if BTC recovers in due time, then perhaps there is a chance. Just a really low one, that's all.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bull run coming up next week on: May 13, 2018, 03:03:50 AM
Last year, the market saw a bull run in mid may where the market grew 25% in a short time.

What happened?
Of course, people are generally in better moods during Spring and as school years are coming to a close.

But what specifically happened, was Consensus 2017, one of the most important crypto conferences in the world with thousands of participants.
Although there are conferences now with higher amounts of people, Consensus has always been important in that the top crypto industry leaders gather along with high ups from banks, government agencies, and big name companies.
It is sponsored by Coindesk and this year is unique in that New York is making a concerted effort to make it so that there are a lot of incentives for Crypto startups to be successful (New York is aiming to be the crypto capital of the world).
It is where a LOT of major networking and deals are done.

Consensus 2018 is from next monday to wednesday.

Are we going to see similar bull run?
This past week the market slumped a bit which is actually a good sign.
Sentiments are high and hopeful and if next week manages to pump, I believe it will be a full on signal for everyone to jump in and initiate the bull run.

Thoughts?

We could definitely, and this correction may be a pretty good time to get in to ride the rally.

Though past performance doesn't always indicate that something is for sure going to happen in the future. The overall trend of the market right now is still overwhelmingly bearish, and it'll be hard to change that.

There could be a short bull run when the consensus 2018 happens, but that isn't going to change much in the context of the whole year. But yeah, if you want to bet on BTC rising in the short term, then accumulate some BTC for cheap now, and dump it when consensus drives prices up.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCN Price 100x this year? on: May 13, 2018, 02:49:05 AM
It's almost impossible, if not impossible for that to happen.

We have just seen Bytecoin come off one of the craziest pumps of 2018, where the prices jumped from just around 30 sats per BCN to over 180 sats per BCN in around just a month or so. Even that crazy of a pump didn't take BCN to 100x.

In fact, I don't think any coin will go even near 100 fold this year in terms of price because of the fact that BTC remains bearish overall, and that's what leads the overall market sentiment. We simply don't see enough momentum like last year, for coins to rise this much.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Low supply coins and Ico on: May 13, 2018, 02:46:33 AM
Hello, can you suggest me some coins o ICO with a low total supply in circulation?

I think getting some of these when the price it's still low, could be a good point..

The lowest supply coin with the most undervalued price right now I would say is probably Omni. Only 560,000 coins in circulation, and the price is barely above $35 apiece, which is absolutely crazy since Tether and Maidsafecoin are both hosted on the Omni layer.

Another one would be ZCash, it was hyped up really early on but now the hype died down, so prices are extremely low. Less than 4 million ZCash in circulation, could be worth a buy (though the fact that they essentially tax miners is repelling, at least for now).

But that doesn't mean either is the best available investment option, not all coins with low supply are good investments. The best investment I can think of currently is probably IOTA.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will be the market cap in the end of 2018? on: May 13, 2018, 02:42:58 AM
shoot your opinon

I'd say that most likely at around $500-600 billion.

The market cap currently is around just under $400 billion, and I think that although the year is going to be dominated by mostly sideways movement, there will be enough bullishness in the market once the market starts to recover. Therefore, $500-600 billion is pretty realistic as a prediction.

I see a lot of people being over optimistic about the crypto market cap due to the pump that occurred. Personally, I think this correction will be quite long and arduous, so make sure that you don't panic sell during the correction.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Realistic predictions for 2018 on: May 13, 2018, 01:35:56 AM
I agree with the stuff that you mentioned about the government regulations, they can't actually regulate or ban bitcoin itself, yet people are panicking about it, which makes no sense since we all know that bitcoin is decentralized. In a falling market like this, I also agree with you that buying the dip is probably the best action to take.

However, you said that by the end of 2018, the crypto market cap will be $1 trillion, which is hard to believe.

Personally speaking I can only see crypto markets recover partially by the end of the year, and it's nowhere going to be near $1 trillion.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which anonymous coin? on: May 13, 2018, 01:23:49 AM
Hey guys,

as I noticed that I´m still missing an anonymous coin in my portfolio, I´d like to ask for your suggestion.
I´m thinking about Dash, Monero and Zcash. Right now I would prefer Dash as it has a huge community imho and a good Marketing.

Or should I go more risky and invest in coins like DeepOnion?

Thanks and greetings from Germany  Cool Cool

I think that all three are acceptable. I think that Monero is probably superior compared to both Dash and ZCash right now in terms of actual adoption, but I do feel like that the value of Dash is pretty under appreciated right now.

I'd say that have all three coins in your portfolio, because the anonymous coin market evolves fast, and you don't want to be left behind in any single coin.

Don't even bother touching DeepOnion, Verge, etc. which are all pump and dump, speculative tokens, that have no real life potential.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH down now , when Will be back and hitt above 1k usd? on: May 13, 2018, 01:16:48 AM
4 days ago i see ETH at 850$ but now eth dump to 670$, would eth back to 350$ like 2-3 month ago?
It's time to panic sell or bought more?
Give your me opinion and speculation when eth will raised 1000$

The reason why ETH is dropping right now is because of a market wide correction that is bringing prices down. If BTC prices crash further, and dip below $8k, then there is definitely potential for ETH to fall under $400 once again.

Never panic sell in these circumstances. If you actually believe in what ETH is for, then buy the dip.

To answer your question, I think it'll probably take at least until next year for ETH to actually hit $1k once again. Right now, the markets are bearish and it's hard to gain value when markets are this bearish.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2018 Portfolio recommendations on: May 13, 2018, 01:06:48 AM
Hey guys!

I've been watching this forum for about a year now and I belive it's time for my first post.
I'm in crypto since May 2017, started with about 3k$ and currently at 10k$ (could have been 20k if I wasn't such a noob ^^).

Anyways, I would like to hear your opinions on my portfolio for 2018, pros & cons, suggestions, etc.

10.000$ distributed as follows:
Bitcoin = 20%
Ethereum = 20%
Factom = 15%
Vechain = 10%
Syscoin = 10%
Stratis = 6%
Waves = 6%
Ardor = 6%
Oyster = 3,5%
QASH = 3,5%

My goal for 2018 is to make atleast a x5. Do you think it's possible? Too many coins? Any shitcoins here?

Thanks for your input!

I would invest in some major privacy coins.

DASH seems to be a good buy right now, you may want to look into DASH and diversify your portfolio into that. Furthermore, I believe that Syscoin and Factom aren't really that promising right now, and you should probably reduce the percentage that you're holding in these coins.

But all the others are pretty good, I personally wouldn't really invest in Oyster Pearl at this stage, but since it's only 3.5% of your portfolio, it doesn't really matter. 5x in a year will be extremely hard, do not expect those returns.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will BTC dominate in 2018 or Etherium will take he lead? on: May 13, 2018, 01:04:29 AM
If you're talking about whether ETH will have a chance of overtaking the number 1 market cap spot from BTC this year, then my answer would probably be no. There is simply nothing that would suggest that will happen this year.

BTC is still the better long term bet compared to ETH, and has a lot more real life usage.

Plus, last year, ETH was already pumped extremely hard, which means that prices are going to correct harder this year compared to BTC. Not only will ETH not take over BTC's rank 1 spot, it may actually lose value quicker due to the corrections.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [REP] Augur up by 30%... What's driving this? on: May 12, 2018, 08:49:46 AM
Obviously it's because of the Binance listing.

If you hold some Augur, I suggest selling some off right now. There is no point in buying because it's complete and utter hype right now that is driving the prices up for REP, nothing else. Sooner or later the hype will die down, and prices will follow.

Getting listed by an exchange doesn't mean that your project is all of a sudden better. It does create short term hype like this, though.
