I sent  0.5 to the acceptor address and all worked fine, other than only getting back 65% lol.

I then sent another 0.5 to the same acceptor address and nothing has happened since. I may have messed it up because I didn't refresh the web page and click the OK next to the "Player's address" box again. However you also say that the site doesn't even need to be open for it to work, so maybe the problem is elsewhere. It's been 3 confirmations since I sent the second 0.5 and the first one happened quite quickly which makes me think that waiting longer isn't going to do much.
