1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon May Accept Bitcoin By October. Do you believe? on: September 29, 2017, 02:14:27 AM
Thanks for bringing this up. I offered to make a bet that Amazon would accept BTC within 18 months. I still think they will. One of the reasons for volatility, imo, is it's investment status, rather then exchange medium. Amazon could greatly enhance the exchange side of the cryptocurrency.
2  Economy / Services / Re: Will do jobs for small amount of BTC on: January 04, 2016, 09:58:21 AM
I posted a thread on a job offer, the application period ends Friday. You don't meet the requirements of the first post, but you may post in the thread for a discretionary compensation. Good luck!
3  Economy / Services / Re: I need a job on: January 04, 2016, 09:48:19 AM
I posted a thread on a job that I haven't had more than 1 response to in 2 days. The application period ends Friday. You seem to meet the requirements and I've had no applications yet. Good luck!
4  Economy / Services / Re: Career Council on: January 03, 2016, 01:20:56 PM
I'm in North America. I think that I'm going to strike the requirements of advice, pose this question and probably reward the best answer. In terms of satisfaction with employment overall, how did the reason rate? In a book I read (Why we do what we do, Edward Deci) the more prominent the activity and less salient the underlying reason, the higher the quality of the effort and fun of the contract. I'll still honor the first post I made in this thread, this is a separate appeal for which I feel can coexist with my first contract. To clarify, please quote which post of mine you are responding to, be it this one or my first post.
5  Economy / Services / Career Council on: January 03, 2016, 01:21:41 AM
Hi. I would like career counseling. I expect that the question, reading my posts, and possibly question clarification should take about an hour of time after which I would value your advice. The minimum requirements for hire are male, about 50 years old, college educated, preferably 300 posts at least, and preferably at least 2 different job titles. I'll make a private choice and publicly say I've made my choice in this tread to halt interest. I'm slightly negotiable on price but feel comfortable around college-educated hourly wage as a starting point for an hour of time. I'll monitor and probably make a choice and close interest on next Friday. I hope that this is an appropriate task to post. I value council and feel that compensating for it makes the intent understood. Giving advice is fun, but I don't want to be asked for anything other than some btc for it.
6  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: August 26, 2015, 11:54:55 AM
Hi,
It would be neat to be able to set up a private game/tourney. Clicking around I've found naught. I do enjoy the games and folks, and am happy the site started up again.
Edited: Yarr, I do enjoy the site, a neat option would be unlimited idle time at tables that aren't full. I'll sit at an empty table and attend other interweb stuff and check now and again if someone else sat. Just a thought.
7  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Song are you Listening To? on: April 23, 2015, 03:47:07 AM
Yarr, unfamiliar with many of the songs listed. Action! Not Words off of Pyromania. Yup 80's metal.
8  Economy / Services / Re: Itunesdb file to text file on: April 22, 2015, 04:10:08 AM
Yep, I sent & downloaded the file. Thanks! I may post a question if something comes up, but you need not feel obligated to answer. I do appreciate the work!
9  Economy / Services / Re: Itunesdb file to text file on: April 22, 2015, 02:16:12 AM
I'll push it up to .08 if that will make you happy. This is the first day the thread has been up and there are already hits. Getting more columns isn't any different than just a few, there's a delimiter and a carriage return, and some format that the file is in. Naming the columns may take more time if it isn't in the file, but if you're pressed for time I can figure the names out. I'm not in any rush to get this work done, either.

Yarr, don't forget Phil Collins, that's one of his favorites. Smiley Anyways, more is better. I'd like to have as many fields as possible so that I wouldn't have to ask later for something that is missing. Having album name, artist, song name, year, would be at the top of the list.
11  Economy / Services / Re: Itunesdb file to text file on: April 21, 2015, 06:39:20 PM
Yarr, I've tried opening in notepad. That works, but the format is somewhat gibberish. You could try opening in notepad then changing to save as utf-8 or some other text type, then libreoffice or google docs.

edit: it sounds like the carriage return isn't being picked up. I'm uncertain what the return character is.

Hi!
An ipod that I tried to backup/recover music from for a friend has been corrupted. Sad There are errors on the disk and scndsk just shrugs at it. I ran a program to check the blocks and some are turning up red. The good news is that I seem to be able to read the list of songs and playlists on the ipod using copytrans. I would like to preserve the metadata content of the list in .csv file format. I'm thinking that this is contained in the itunesdb file, which I have access to. I've tried various ways to get at this file to no avail (http://www.joescafe.com/tunes2html/, and have exchanged emails with the copytrans tech support.) The file is 31mb. I've seen rewards in this thread start at .05 BTC, so I'll start there.

Edit: here's the itunesdb file: http://ge.tt/6ROuhvE2

I offer food and drink to homeless. They won't accept. (Granted it was a V8 and another time an apple).
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't you wish you never had any alcohol? on: October 07, 2014, 02:04:31 PM
Yes, I do wish I never had any alcohol. The only thing I may change is if I have any more. I wouldn't humblebrag that I've never had any in this tread. There are some things one just has to find out for themselves. I've made good decisions and poor ones.
15  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: October 03, 2014, 12:27:18 AM
How about if I play you heads up Micon? If I beat you you grant me access to a private game, if I lose you get my chips. I'd really like to start one for the the free state project. We meet many people who come to visit NH and I'd like to give them a password to keep in touch.
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: September 30, 2014, 09:08:55 PM
Hi,
How do we configure the antminer to send btc to our address? We wish to go solo for a bit then maybe join a pool later. Thanks for considering. Despite the basic question, we have logged onto the antminer through the ip address and have been poking around. I'm just not finding anything straitforward.

Hi,
I do enjoy playing on the site. I was looking for guidance on how to create a private tourney.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: My strategy for when Bitcoin price is going down on: August 25, 2014, 02:57:32 PM
Buy is the strategy.

This. I dollar cost average my purchase so am buying x dollars worth at the same time each week. From there I do spend some. I guess I don't change strategy based on price change. Bitcoin is a buy for me, unless something major happens. (edited to answer OP)
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: What type of gamer are you? on: August 25, 2014, 02:32:49 PM
I play newer games on the PC, mostly ones that my friends play. (Skyrim, Dungeons & Dragons Online, Loadout). The most fun I had was putting COINOPS on an original xbox. Is that gaming? Maybe I could get off playing AutoCAD, lol. Shout out to all the retro games like Master Of orion, Quake, Descent, 4 and 8 bit games. I enjoyed them back in the day, now they're fun as screensavers for TV.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: August 18, 2014, 12:30:52 AM
Interesting thread. I liked the utube videos on verifying gold coins. I would pick the gold, if it was the same weight as the btc price in dollars. Gold is usually purchased at a premium over spot. BTC is easy to purchase and can be done at a pc. Physical purchase of gold takes effort and a level of trust with whom you are dealing. In short, it is easier to buy btc than gold.
