It means you will be able to trade freely with anyone in the world without being restricted by a government and no amount of legislation they bring in will be able to prevent it.
That made my fell in love with BTC. No hassles and no pressure.

Facebook sucks cock. Of course bitcoin will be bigger than Facefuck.
When bitcoin exceeds facebook's market cap bitcoin will be 10K+ per coin.
LOL so you think Satoshi Nakamoto is richer than Mark Zuckerberg?

I prefer 'mills' (mBTC) and 'mikes' (uBTC), as it reuses existing patterns well-known to anyone who has had a need to handle numbers of anything over a range of magnitudes (i.e. the SI system, used nearly universally in other areas of measurement). I may be in the minority. As such, I recognize the need to sit back and let consensus emerge. Trying to force the issue will not be resistant to whatever socially-selected solution eventually emerges.
this is excellent! i have updated OP. I like BITS because it sounds cool. maybe we can have the best of both worlds by renaming these, mills (mBTC) bits (uBTC) Bits sounds professional too.

There is no voting. When somebody creates a feature, people may adopt it. If enough people adopt it, then everyone will adopt it. Currently, the core devs (and especially the Bitcoin Foundation) have a lot of influence over what people choose to adopt, but that will change over time (hopefully).
Bitcoiners should organize themselves and push bitcoin marketing to the limit. That, I think will be very helpful for bitcoin adoption.

For me the issue of adoption comes first.
Agreed. How can bitcoin be a success if people doesnt know what it is?

If you keep all your coins at blockchain but back up your wallet by the email back up service are your coins safe? I have a json file backup after every full BTC I purchase.
I think that will be the best advice that you could get. Back up your wallet.

Bitcointalk admins will turn over your identity, IP address etc at the drop of a hat - you can bet on it!
You should DEFINITELY be using TOR for Bitcointalk and any other website you visit, whether darknet or clearnet.
I recommend using TAILS in conjunction with TOR.
What if I use VPN? Can bitcointal still track my identity?

What happens to the btc community if their infrastructure fails in a few years? What effect would that have?
It might create another price drop but bitcoin's reputation will not be affected.

If there is so much angst against the foundation, why don't people just organise a new one?
It is easy to say that.. However, organizing a new one is a lot harder than you think.
