Hi guys - sorry to double post (I'm nembot on nem forum ) just pretty keen to get this sorted & redeem my AE 0.1 NEMstake before I run out of time, have been trying hard for a week or two & running into a brick wall, probably some incompatibility, if anyone has worked through this & has any tips I'd be very grateful - thanks:
Hi all
Since buying 0.1 Nemstake on SAE about 3 weeks ago I've read all the threads I have found on BTT, here, NXT forum etc and really tried to help myself rather than come for help without making an effort.
BUT I am totally stumped, have been for about 10 days with about 3 major attempts in between work commitments & just cannot get the local node to boot. I'm on a Mac & have downloaded NIS & NCC after ensuring Java version correct, (several times, clearing cache etc).
I deleted everything a couple of times, recleared cache, followed software instructions on wiki to unpack & load NIS/NCC using the terminal windows & still doesn't seem to be working. NOM opens ok & detects the wallet I create, but then when I open the wallet I have problems booting the local node.
I'm actually a pretty tech-y guy just not that computer savvy. Only a year on mac after 20 yrs on PCs isn't helping. I'm certainly not on the latest linux distro, wouldn't know where to start. Just Mac OSX Mavericks & native cunning but that is running out now, at 01.30 trying to sort this out again. Really appreciate any pointers.
So yeah I'm on a mac and can load up NOM/NIS/NCC, make a wallet, even able to generate real account information etc but just totally unable to boot a local node - I get "oops, error 306..." as shown in the attached screen grab.
EDIT: No pics on BTT - text on error message reads (exactly):
OOPS! Error 306 An error occurred that the development team did not have foreseen. Apologies for this, maybe a retry might help. Otherwise, please open up an issue within the NEM/NIC/NCC community
This occurs when I try booting from within the wallet and when I enable auto boot.
DO I need to enable/disable something? Is Safari as the browser the problem?
Thanks in advance, any help appreciated

yeah the crowd-funding aspect seems plausible since if you are putting in large orders with manufacturers you need a certain amount of ready cash.
Slightly concerning as I read through the litecointalk threads was that the seller who sold me some of his shares (who was an excellent, prompt & very courteous guy to deal with) - was open about the fact he was cashing out now as there seemed to have been something of a shift in modus operandi in recent months - implying as several others have that it is moving from legit operation to ponzi as cash inflow perhaps outstripping actual hashing power.
But plenty of people still believing & buying in. SO will see what happens...
Going to cash out in BTC fully for next 6 weeks & not reinvest & then if pass the mythical ROI threshold my opinion will shift to - real enough for me - & I'll start partial reinvestment & banking increasing returns weekly which will be fun while it lasts!

or more likely I am fibbing... tho it was true in my mind as I typed - but actually I bought some shares... then banked a couple of weeks & re-invested a couple of weeks... then bought a few more... didn't really factor in the previous weeks... now, if I just keep my hands off payouts & they actually turn up for 5 weeks, will get ROI - but that will actually be after 8-9 weeks total. So nothing out of the ordinary. Since I think proper ROI usually possible in about 6 wks if you're disciplined I could have actually done that - but instead I decided what would be worth shooting for - decided a bitcoin a week - and reinvested/bought more shares until with the multiplication that goal looked possible, & will cash out from next week until ROI... now the wait starts to see if I was greedily over-keen or lucratively bold... with the profusion of reseller sites, affiliate scheme etc I'm worried as it's more of a ponzi set-up than when I bought in... but still... if it runs 5 weeks more I'll be ok... No affiliate link on my sig as I'm just not sure I should entice people on board. But I'm on board....

yeah got paid my shares too. which is of course just numbers on a screen. but if multiplication occurs as advertised ... and it's about 1.35... then when the the next payout occurs - that will b just under one bitcoin for me.... so then if I start cashing out fully (which I will, getting a bit nervous now!!) then not only is that only 5 weeks to ROI (if it happens)... after that it should be nearly a bitcoin a week woop woop! here goes nothing...

yeah if it's all real then I'd advise not worrying about getting shares etc, Chris certainly seems to deliver & has a lot of mail to answer at the moment I reckon....
so is it real? not sure - but I've invested (about a month ago). I basically feel like I've come a bit late to the party & it's either a total ponzi just about to peak & fail, taking everyone's money - or it's pretty much as advertised - ahead of the game technically & run by a fundamentally sound guy who answers peoples' specific queries & does the farm stuff & doesn't worry about trying to prove himself to all & sundry. The affiliate scheme fits either - pure ponzi or hassle-free outsourced marketing.
Basically I read all the threads & thought ... seems legit, like in the X-files I want to believe.. & trust the beekeeper... so I just jumped in partly for fun, sold a couple of things I like & invested the money... so not gone into debt or wasted "real" money - just risking some of my stuff & if it works I can buy back better stuff!
I've put "only what i can afford to lose" but still - I've never invested in anything before & just thought - this can be my gamble/investment for the next 5 years - as in - I'll put in about a year's worth of "spare" money (as if that exists...) - to make it worth while & regret-free if strike gold (as put enough in to benefit in meaningful way .... & if it's a scam then I've learnt a painful lesson but only lost 1 yr's leisure money ...& I had probably better disqualify myself from investments for 5 years!!

Hi - thanks for the welcome! I realised that obviously the home thread will have a lot of people invested in the coin - but with about $30 total involved in crypto & new to it all I'm just having fun seeing how it all works. This seems like a great coin & congratulations on all your hard work. With it's sudden bump up the ratings & in a market rife with pumpers I just wondered if it is also about to get a pump - or maybe just had one. Looking around for a good coin to actually invest in when I get my tax return - or rather, a few. Here I'm sure the overall direction is upwards, & would be good for that. But currently playing with trying to ride the pumps with my pocket money & wondered if you guys thought that was going on at the mo... Best wishes jk
