With my calculations, even with ~ 9 TH it is not very reasonable and profitable at all to start the mining Sad Anyone has done calculations, exact how much is needed for a good start ?
And what is the best miner to buy ? Antminer S3 or other ?

First, mining profitability depends on a couple of factors like expectation of future difficulty and electricity price.
The same deal can be profitable to me but not to you.

Also, I don't think there is a "minimum hashrate" to make mining profitable.
If you don't have profit with a 1TH/s miner, buying 10 miners will just make your loss 10x larger.

I agree with you, and btw, thx for the comment, and if we want to start the BTC business now they're 95% ahead so...

I have free electricity and time to host them by myself, difficulty i am calculating like 15%. But it is still not profitable. With ants it is needed to buy PSU for every two ants, that adds tocosts a little too.

If you have free electricity and host so go for it, time is money man so do you math as quickly as you can and start making profits Wink

Welcome, i am also new, looking to start mining, just interested, how much funds you need to get some profit in BTC mining ?
Btc mining is controlled by big cartels, you'll need to invest in a lot of mining power to get legit returns i think. Its a risk but someone has to do the mining or btc crashes.
Forget mining as a profitable investment, you will only lose money with it.

I'm also agree, if you want to start a profitable mining business you need to invest at least 10 or 15k and get the material directly from china to avoid some interim gains to begin with at least with  a 10TH "and it also would be veeeery profitable if have electricity for free" and reinvest  every month so you dont loose the dificulty advencement difference, and also you have to hope for the BTC to raise a little cause in this past month, it's not as healthy as we want it to be, the btc is crashing, also avoid fluctuation and trading losses if you trade, and maybe try with some other altcoins and bet on them and rebuying btc.

In my opinion it's a little hard, but hey, i'm a noob and i'm seeking some good ideas too Smiley

Welcome to the forum!  I can remember when i started out the good old GPU days Smiley

Easy2Mine.com is running a video contest: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=768294.msg8657899#msg8657899 if your good at making videos.  Thought I would throw it out since you mentioned just starting and low on funds.

Hope to see you around the forums.

Thank you for the tip, and i'll try to give it a shot, even if i'm not a super graphic geek lol
Hi and welcome to bitcointalk forum, my usual advice when I see some newcomer is:
Don't trust anyone here, if you want to trade do it always using an escrow.

The accounts could be sold so even if you are dealing with an hero member look out for scams.

Thank you dude, no trust is the rule number 1 on the internet Wink

Welcome! I saw you're interested in friedcat! What do you know about him and what do you find so interesting about him? I also think he is quite an interesting engineer and entrepreneur! It would be great if you could elaborate on that!

I'm an engeneer too just graduated, and i'm amazed by the way he understood the upcoming era of cryptocurrencies and the way to "open source" it so i'm trying to read about the concepts, and maybe find a business opurtunitiy to "harvest" in Africa Smiley

Welcome holdon1987.  As I'm sure you've observed your in for one heck of a ride.  Insofar as your trying to earn some bitcoin gives some thought to what it is that your good at and like to do and can implement technically and consider posting something under the [Marketplace] [Services] section.  It can literally be something as simple as doing custom drawings, logo's, etc. or better yet create a listing with what kinds of skills you have and are looking to earn money for.

Never trust others with your bitcoin unless you've properly vetted them (and even then gox's happen).  Avoid investing in mining securities.  And absolutely never risk any more than you can afford to lose.  These I guess would be the top three things I would advise.

Thank you very much for the advice, i'm a engenner too in networks and telecomunication, ive done all the ccna certifications and stuff with a master degree in developping app so c, c++ .net and so, but realy looking dor an idea and a business oportunity, than you again for the advice and realy hoping to know you people and having the chance to learn from you.

Welcome holdon1987! All I can say is read up on everything you can and be careful who you trust. Glad to see you have taken the first step and I can guarantee this will be a journey you will enjoy!

I hope it too and thank you as well Smiley

Welcome and enjoy the journey.  Cool

There are unlimited opportunities awaiting you in the world of cryptocurrency!

I'm trying to ID them as wll, thank you and realy exited about all that Smiley
