Ok, thank you for the advice.
2  Bitcoin / Armory / Same private key with Armory and HW wallet on: January 02, 2018, 12:13:45 AM
I was wondering if there is any reason I should NOT do this.

Take my private key, which I use in a different HW wallet and have it also in Armory, so that I can make use of the advantages of the other wallet along with Armory's backup and advanced features.

The specific scenario would be this:

-take the mnemonic seed from a backup of hardware wallet
-load that mnemonic seed into electrum or bitcoin core on an offline computer
-extract the same private key from electrum or bitcoin core (so that I have a format that Armory will understand)
-load the private key into Armory also in the offline computer
-then export the watch only Armory wallet into an online computer with Armory

If I am correct, this will allow me to:
-use either the hardware wallet or Armory to send, receive or cold storage
-I will have a fully node validating my transactions, which I do not currently have with the HW wallet
-I will have all kinds of fragmented, multisig, encrypted backups from Armory

Hopefully soon Armory will support BIP39 seeds
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHY THE BITCOIN PRICE DROP IS REALLY GOOD NEWS on: October 04, 2014, 05:56:02 PM
Nonsense. Unless the price goes up significantly, bitcoin will not be useful for truly large transactions. Right now if somebody wants to buy a couple million dollars worth of bitcoin, it's really difficult, and the transaction would make the price spike (or tumble). A large market cap means more liquidity and more possibilities for the network.? If you just want to be able to settle your cable bill, a low price is fine, I guess.
