I was wondering if there is any reason I should NOT do this.
Take my private key, which I use in a different HW wallet and have it also in Armory, so that I can make use of the advantages of the other wallet along with Armory's backup and advanced features.
The specific scenario would be this:
-take the mnemonic seed from a backup of hardware wallet -load that mnemonic seed into electrum or bitcoin core on an offline computer -extract the same private key from electrum or bitcoin core (so that I have a format that Armory will understand) -load the private key into Armory also in the offline computer -then export the watch only Armory wallet into an online computer with Armory
If I am correct, this will allow me to: -use either the hardware wallet or Armory to send, receive or cold storage -I will have a fully node validating my transactions, which I do not currently have with the HW wallet -I will have all kinds of fragmented, multisig, encrypted backups from Armory
Hopefully soon Armory will support BIP39 seeds
