Original opening post.....

Hi Guys,
I am the new developer for Groupcoin [GPC]
I was lucky enough to purchase the accounts for Groupcoin to move this undervalued, under-appreciated coin forward.
Here is the last main thread for reference:   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703610.0

Bosman will be linking to this thread when I pm him.
Firstly thankyou to Bosman for 'giving birth' to this coin and from what I can see always being a friendly open person, as he was in dealings to take over the running of the coin. Thankyou.
I see from reading up on the coin there was an 'incident' few weeks back when the twitter account was compromised by someone who was shared access to the social media account, causing a fake 'pump' by saying there was to be an anon. feature.

First thing I have made sure I have done is to make sure everything is working correctly as it should. All twitter , github and email are under my control, with new emails and passwords changed. They will be shared with no-one.

Although everything is secured if you see any outlandish claims coming from twitter or any other accounts about this claim they will be fake, Like I say I have secured everything but THIS THREAD will be where you need to check for validation and confirmation of any tweets.

Official twitter account is here: https://twitter.com/groupcoindev

As time moves on and our community progresses with the coin it may be prudent to share with one other person or so but not until strong relationships are grown. It works well with other successful coins but the trust has to be grown over time. Bosman was unlucky to have his trust betrayed last time, but we need to aim to have a few of us in different timezones to cover the github and social media , & of course in case the grim reaper came looking for me! But further down the road when I get to know everyone and see what we are all contributing to this coin together.

As this is a decentralised coin with no owner, it's in the hands of the community.
Marketcap is extremely small at the minute so I feel we can only go one way with hard work.
I took this project on as I want something to get my teeth into and have something to prove with numerous skillsets that fit everything I feel we need.

No promises. No silly statements like we will have an anon. feature etc.
We won't. There is no need for that, real markets don't want that type of coin or feature and the illegal markets just attract heat.

I will state what I feel we need currently, Look to our community to give their views and move forward on that, one thing at a time.

I have pasted the information from the last thread below but this will be updated and tweaked.

So, the things most important that need doing were and are:

1/ Securing social media and github accounts, checking functions of wallet and everything working backend ok.
DONE

2/ We need a website. This is a priority as we need to warehouse our information and download links there for a better social media presence but also for security and safety of downloads etc. An official site.
My first step will be securing a good domain name then building the site. You will hear back from me when site is up.

3/ A more active social media presence, we are on twitter, not on facebook. Personally I feel twitter is the most important one.
I will also be tweaking the logo as feel it can be improved slightly. I will see what everyone things and will post here.
I will try to be on twitter daily too so you can follow movements and progress there, feel free to update here.

That's it for now. Just basics. Once these jobs are done I will be interested and come back and see what everyone thinks of site and logo and what they feel will be next.

I am not too keen yet on changing anything in the coin. Maybe a new wallet skin in time but not yet. No lofty projections of promises. Basics first.

I do have a vision of the best use and identity for this coin but will look forward to chatting to our community later about this. really looking foreward to meeting everyone who has been involved in the coin and the community here in the thread.
I feel this is the best place for all our discussions, bitcointalk, a forum would be a long way off yet, we have a small community currently, some big coins seem to have quite forums, so again no plans for that yet.

Enough talking, I have building to do.  Smiley

5  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: mintpal keeping my btc? on: October 15, 2014, 11:18:56 AM
There was a critical bug found in mintpal which has caused them to close the exchange temporarily, their "management" company Moolah also just filed for bankruptcy.

Mintpal is current looking for new "management" but I would avoid.

uh oh

thanks for heads up

8  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Group's IPO on: October 15, 2014, 12:39:58 AM
personally I would never invest in such a thing, if successful and hope would be will help bitcoin exposure I think.
hopefully it is not a disaster as will reflect badly

far better to invest a little of what you can afford into bitcoin itself imho
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Plans Bitcoin Ban by 2015 on: October 15, 2014, 12:33:09 AM
when I hear this news it makes me think their Government must be planning on buying some, at least as a hedge.

price is low I don't see the price being affected by this even though there is a large Russian contingent involved in mining etc.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin survive without the Internet? on: October 15, 2014, 12:26:34 AM
each country has the power to limit certain things or even temp. shut down their internet as we see during some protests and uprisings.
think Libya did it

however to do Globally would mean taking out the rootservers, think there around 13 of them

pretty much it will never happen
