Thinking about it, why do we need a thread like this? You can find generic, boring porn anywhere. Now, if it was for certain types of porn that's hard to find (or hard to find any decent quality, or new, content), that would make sense.

What certain types of porn did you have in mind?

I agree that most porn is of the "generic and boring" type. Most of the porn that isn't generic or boring is designed to fulfill a specific niche but most people would not be interested in those.

Mercedes S Class W221:

That reminds me. I always felt some of the old Bangle-era BMWs still look fairly "fresh" today. The 2003 6-series for example:

Best case scenario would be that the plane made an emergency landing in the ocean and is floating with electrical systems not working therefore no contact. I hope this is the case. Sad

AirAsia has announced a press conference shortly, says there were 155 on board. It was travelling through an area of bad weather at the time.

This has been going on for 9 months now, is there something weird with the Indonesian Air Space?

MH370
MH17

and now QZ8501 !!!

MH17 wasn't really an incident that occurred over Indonesian airspace. It was a Malaysian-owned plane flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that was shot down over Eastern Ukrainian territory.
5  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: OMG did I just loose $4000? electrum not working on mac! on: December 28, 2014, 06:51:38 AM
Do you have your seed with you? This is 12 letters long and you should have either memorized it or written it down somewhere. Even if you don't have it, it should still be possible to recover your wallet as long as the files weren't overwritten but it might not be easy.

EDIT: Perhaps you can try downloading Electrum Portable, running it, and then replacing the wallet.dat it creates with your copy of wallet.dat?
I have the see
i screens hotted it

but it was saved in JULY 2014

but it was for the same wallet i used, the electrum one...will it work? will it restore all coins ir will it only replace coins that were there inside at that time?

BTw, the electrum on mac is really bad,  it saves in /library/appicationsupport/bitcoin

folder - i mean the wallet.dat one...

so I am even scared to download or install other BTc clients right now...because like I know qt client also does it on the same location\

OS X users, can you please confirm this is true?
because i could not find any electrum folder in library/appicationsupport

only found biotic  folder with wallet.dat

which is 5.39gb big

can electrum application folder be so big? i sure hope yes  Cry

otherwise this might just be the files from qt client i installed few months ago...

The seed is deterministic (contains all the information needed to generate all current and future addresses) and never changes for a single wallet, so it should work. As long as it's the same wallet, then all your coins should be there.

EDIT 2: Not sure if Electrum Portable has an "import" feature but if it does then that could work also.
7  Other / Off-topic / Re: How often do you check bitcoin price? on: December 28, 2014, 01:32:24 AM
As many times as I can in a day, it is usually more times when BTC goes for the bull mode.
Bitcoinwisdom.com and coindesk.com are my usual source for the price updates.

I usually use Preev.com.
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: How often do you check bitcoin price? on: December 27, 2014, 11:37:23 PM
I use to check it at least 6 or 7 times a day but I don't do that anymore nowdays maybe once or twice (at most)

Used to check it few times a day, now I don't check it for days sometimes. If there's some radical change of price at exchanges news about it is usually spread through media immediately anyway.

Similar to me. I used to check it daily or sometimes twice daily but now it's every couple of days or twice weekly on average. The Bitcoin craze is dying down. Sad

Get a job.

Don't care if you're not skilled enough o get a good paying job, you need to get any old job til you can get a better one...

Easier said than done. As I said before, my programming skills are horrible. I might be able to write a chess program in Java (where all the moves are random and there is no intelligence) and that's MAYBE. I know a bit of chemistry and biology but it's difficult to land a job in those fields without a degree. I doubt anyone will hire me.

Hi everyone, I am revisiting this thread.

So I am currently living in rented accommodation. It's about $100 USD per week and power and Internet are included. Smiley

I have approximately $3000 USD in the bank right now. Maybe a bit more stashed away in other accounts. That's enough to pay for 30 weeks rent. Plus some more money for food, etc.

I am thinking of enrolling in a distance learning course in March. The government will give me about $150 per week as a loan for living expenses. Plus I will get about $750 as a one-off payment.

Ideally I would prefer to not rely on the government and make this money myself. (I don't want to be a leech living off the government.) How should I go about doing this?

13  Other / Off-topic / Old cars that still look modern today on: December 26, 2014, 01:59:08 AM
Japanese cars are more popular where I live so all of these are Japanese. I'll start from the oldest:

1999 Toyota Celica. It's a bit dated-looking now, but still pretty good for a late 90's design. Even has a bit of flame-surfacing going on too:

2002 Nissan Teana. The oversized headlights and flat body panels scream early 2000's but overall the car still looks fairly OK for a design that's over 10 years old. More timeless-looking than modern-looking perhaps:

The interior was made to look like a lounge:

2002 Nissan 350Z. The design takes a few styling cues from the original Audi TT of 1998. Would still look fairly modern today with some minor changes:

A good example of the early 2000's aluminum fad (again inspired by the TT of course):

2003 Mazda RX-8:

2003 Honda Accord. In fact, the new one for the European and Japanese markets doesn't differ too much from this one styling-wise:

2006 Honda Civic. Looks almost cutting-edge even today. Amazing for a car that's nearly a decade old:

Anyone know of any others?
14  Other / Off-topic / Why do porn films suck so much? on: December 26, 2014, 12:47:49 AM
Pun intended. Grin

When you compare the artistic merit and dedication that went into mainstream films compared to porn films, it's pretty apparent that porn films tend to be of much lower quality with much less work put into them. We make fun of poor-quality films like Plan 9 From Outer Space and The Room. But when it's a porn film, nobody cares.

Why is this so? Different genres of film are supposed to elicit certain reactions. Porn films are meant to be arousing. Comedy films are meant to be funny. Action films are meant to be exhilarating. So why can't there be porn films that have as much thought and effort put into them as your typical comedy or action film?

Forgive me for asking but what is the purpose of using hard drive capacity to mine anyway? Is the free space put to some use? Like for storing files and such? Or is it just a proof-of-concept for an alternative to the traditional proof-of-work schemes?
It's an alternative to POW schemes that should discourage the increasing centralization that's been occurring with them. By having mining speed bound by standard hardware users already have and drawing negligible electricity to mine with it, normal users mining with their existing hardware while they are using it can mine effectively for free, and as farms have far more overhead to operate and are unable to gain efficiency advantages with specialized hardware, farms shouldn't be able to achieve as high hashrate/operatingcost as normal users, which should help keep the network decentralized.

Ah, excellent explanation thanks. So I would think that proof-of-capacity is ASIC proof then?

Is there a version for 32-bit systems? I'm running on a 32-bit system right now and all my other laptops are 32-bit except for one that I bought last year which might possibly be 64-bit.

19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sony should release The Interview online for free and accept donations on: December 25, 2014, 09:48:26 PM
With the recent news that Sony won't be releasing The Interview in theaters because of the clowns in North Korea, maybe they should release it online for free and solicit donations. One of those donation methods, obviously, BTC.

They probably wouldn't get enough in donations to cover the cost compared to traditional methods of distribution. It's easy to get thousands of dollars in donations. It's not easy to get millions.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Storj: the new cloud Bitcoin storage technology on: December 25, 2014, 05:49:53 PM
I believe datacoin was the first project that was aiming for storing your files in the blockchain to allow decentral cloud storage. (correct me if I'm wrong)

The only problem were the guys behind datacoin. They never managed to get it to the next level.

Storj looks very professional and looks way better. I'll be watching this closely.

You're not wrong, though technically Bitcoin and Namecoin could also be used to store data in the blockchain if you knew how to. Not sure if they can accommodate actual files though.

But yeah, I was thinking Datacoin too. It was an innovative coin and yet it died. The dev disappeared and there were also issues with the blockchain becoming too bloated. I think it was supposed to grow by about 500GB a year. It would be interesting to see what these new guys will do differently.
