1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TBA] The Next Big Thing? #Edon #newTechnology! ICO Starting Soon on: April 13, 2016, 10:38:06 PM
Just finished setting up the nodes for the Testnet.

Give it a go, and test our wallet online @
wallet.edoncoin.com

The Network you are about to access is not a real one, it is only for testing purposes so it might go down unannounced

Everything should be self-explanatory. If you have questions don't hesitate to ask.

The Faucet can be accessed here: faucet.edoncoin.com:3000
It will drip a few coins, just that you feel the taste of it Tongue

Proofreading is absolutely invaluable.

Agreed, and have you noticed that there are spelling errors in practically every coin launch with graphics.

I know, why Smiley the people that design them are most likely using photoshop or illustrator, and when typing the text is not spell-checked Cheesy

Have you noticed any spelling errors on our graphics?

Keeping my eyes on this one for sure. I plan to invest in the ICO if nothing changes my mind.
Are you in talks with any specific exchanges at this point?

At this particular moment we are in talks with 2 exchanges. But we must first see a reaction from the community. If people are interested in this project, it will motivate us to continue its development.

I hope you're not ready to throw in the towel already. I'm sure as more information comes out, more interest will follow.

No way!

We are slowly working our way up. And we haven't started promoting the project yet Smiley Right now we are working with SimpleIn on the site, soon we'll have more info available!

From
http://editi[Suspicious link removed]/2016/01/07/europe/paris-attacks-brussels-operatives/

The man, using the false Samir Bouzid identification card at a Western Union outlet in the Brussels area, wired 750 euros ($807) to Hasna Ait Boulahcen on November 17, the Belgian prosecutor's office said. Both of the publicized suspects -- the men going by the names of Kayal and Bouzid -- were at the store from which the money was sent.

Time to stop the stupid rumor that BTC is used by the bad guys. They're using WU.

The popularity of bitcoin came after the money laundering through bitcoins 2013

The bear market has lasted long enough. I predict 2016 is the year where bitcoin finally breaks through, both in price and in mainstream adoption.

The fork issue is a distraction. It won't kill bitcoin. The majority will eventually choose what fork they want to use, whether it is the original, or XT, or some third option.

I see the fork issue as silly infighting which only hurts bitcoin. I want bitcoin to succeed, that's what I care about, not what version of BTC I use. I will go with the majority, whichever fork is chosen.

All subsequent years 2016, 2017, 2018 - a year of cryptocurrency
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: January 14, 2016, 07:56:47 AM
I joined up over here in 2012-13. At the time it seemed like a way to make a quick buck. Overtime as i read about it more and more, i became interested in the freedom it provides. As time has went on however, my interest and belief in bitcoin have waned. I won't get into the details of why, but i'm wondering what your honest opinion of bitcoin is, with a simple vote, and possibly an explanation.

Yes I still believe in BTC

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stopping a transaction on: January 13, 2016, 08:37:13 PM
I have been searching the forum and I can not find a solid answer to this question:  Is there a way that anyone can stop a transaction before the confirmations have been made.  For example; I pay Joe Dip 1.1 BTC for a domain name.  I can see that the transaction is waiting confirmation in the block chain, however there are no confirmations yet.  The seller can also see that the transaction is waiting for confirmations to come through.  Once we are at this point is there anyway that I could stop the transaction?

no, if the transaction has already been sent to the network
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Confirmation Speed on: January 13, 2016, 08:26:23 PM
Is there any chance that the confirmation process will pick up in speed here in the future?  I think some people are not accepting them because the time it takes to confirm a transaction.  I know I do not want to be standing in a store for 20 minutes or longer to wait for a candy bar.

This is the biggest disadvantage of Bitcoin
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A safty place to place all the money? on: January 13, 2016, 08:15:37 PM
I'm thinking and thinking a lot about  following thinks, maby you will call me paranoid but i thinking still about it Smiley

1) whats happen if tomorrow all BTC is 1$ worth?

2) what if all countries govoment do crypto currency eg. bitcoins illegal?

3) I can put my bitcoins in a physical product where I can graders me much better against the volatility that is bitcoin exchange rate?

4) The very best way to protect against a hacker attack or against a steal all your money from your wallet ?, are there any ways to choose a safe solution here?

I am a little worried about it and naturally want to protect myself as best as possible.

If the network breaks down then bitcoin can be 0$  Grin
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: January 13, 2016, 08:04:07 PM
So guys, in a world where the 10% of total transaction are with BTC, what is the advantages for a normal family? What this kind of money can solve? In particular, if some rich don't spend BTC to increase the value and less BTC are spent, how can deflating happen?

Particular, which CONCRETE advantages can the people get from BTC?

Thank you.

bitcoin is an investment tool for me personally

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: January 13, 2016, 07:36:23 PM
It seems that experts say that Bitcoin 'Here to Stay,' But Banks Could Disappear.

"TheStreet: How do you think FinTech will impact the way banks operate?

Frank Schwab: Banks either react on, or they will disappear. Anyway, the consolidation of the banking industry accelerates as the behaviour of people changes. Some banks will benefit from [FinTech], some will be pushed to the back end, and some will disappear."
http://www.thestreet.com/story/13419089/1/bitcoin-here-to-stay-but-banks-could-disappear-says-fintech-expert.html

What's your read on that?

I think that the banks will take the blockchain technology
