I am still holding onto ICN in MyEtherWallet. What should I do with ICN, just keep holding? I thought it was for receiving dividends.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how you see future of Iconomi (ICN) ? on: October 18, 2017, 03:19:50 PM
What is the function of ICN at this point? It isn't even listed on Iconomi's website anymore.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICONOMI [ICN] Speculation on: October 18, 2017, 03:14:06 PM
For those of us still holding ICN - what is the plan with this coin? Should we keep holding?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Omicron - Dividend-Issuing Currency - Sixth dividends issued: 437 sats/OMC on: October 05, 2017, 02:33:12 PM
Latest update on OMC:

"I would like to ask everyone to create an account on Cryptopia.co.nz and send me their Bismuth address as well as the TX message"

"Would kindly ask everyone to have their addresses messaged to me (OMC balance and Bismuth info) before October 15, as that's when the first distribution start."

I used to ask for updates all the time haha so now I will do my part and post the latest update from Slack:

"gladimor [1:12 AM]
Everything is well. Trading has been looking good with a +3 BTC gain recently on a leveraged Ethereum trade. The swap plans are still progressing, just doing a bit more reading before I create the token. I already have planned out the method of the swap, which I will cover in the upcoming roadmap."

What was the update on Slack? I am just waiting for the Slack channel invite in the meantime.

What does the future hold for BASH?

The price keeps rising I see, so there must be demand.

Is BASH being used for what it was intended to be used for?

Yes, the data files the wallet generates are in %appdata%\omicron (full path, given C: is your windows drive and english the system language, C:\users\<yourusername>\appdata\roaming\omicron). You might have to change the options of the windows explorer to show those folders (View > Options > View > Advanced Settings > 'Hidden Files and Folders' > Mark 'Show hidden files, folders and drives' )

PS: Btw some security hint: while you're already in the options you might want to unhook 'Hide extensions of known file types' slightly down the list. It helps not to distractedly double click that email attachment or downloaded trojan if you see the file as the real, for example, invoice.pdf.exe or roadmap.doc.exe rather than just invoice.pdf and roadmap.doc. While there are more sophisticated infection methods, especially unpatched systems, still most of this ransomware & Co stuff manages to gets on the computers with the help of this small pre-set convenience option.

Thanks for the help. I am still having issues.

I even installed the wallet on a different computer at a different location on a different network.

My wallet still won't sync. It gets stuck at about 9%. Sometimes it gets past 9% but then reverts back to 9%.

Example: Yesterday! My wallet was at 56% sync and this morning it is back to 9%!

Is this a local issue with me or is this a currency wide issue?

I have deleted everything except for wallet.dat several times, I have downloaded a fresh copy of the wallet, still I get stuck at 9%.

Yes, resyncing fixed it. First, always keep at least one safe copy/backup of the wallet.dat elsewhere. Then close the wallet and delete/rename everything but wallet.dat (only really important file because it contains all your address and wallet data), peers.dat (not important but might help reconnecting) and Omicron.conf (no use setting one up again). Start the wallet and it syncs up from scratch. The coin is still quite new so it doesn't takes that long.

I am running the wallet on Windows, the only file I can delete is omicron-qt.exe
I did deleted that, downloaded a fresh version. Still out of sync. I am doing something wrong, right?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Omicron - Dividend-Issuing Currency - Sixth dividends issued: 437 sats/OMC on: May 26, 2017, 03:52:46 AM
Happened here too some while back and it looks like the wallet managed to get stuck on its very own blockchain fork. Had to resync in the end.

A resync solved your issue? How did you resync without losing your wallet data/address?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Omicron - Dividend-Issuing Currency - Sixth dividends issued: 437 sats/OMC on: May 22, 2017, 09:24:32 PM
My OMC wallet has been out of sync for some time now.

"6737 block remaining"

Anyone else seeing this or do I need to troubleshoot my wallet?

I have a suggestion for everyone to think of. There is an altcoin called Blocknet. They are developing DEX (A Decentralized Exchange). It is possible to run a service node that will collect fees. All you need is 5000 block which now costs around 5 btc(5000$). I suggest we buy those 5000 block ( I mean Adam buys for our money) and run it. Actually, this option is not there yet. The development is going and it will take 4-8 weeks. The thing is, we can't wait for it to be ready, because the price will skyrocket when it's there. So, I suggest we buy 5000 block now and then set up a node and watch money flow Smiley

Interesting idea. Especially with all the cyber attacks recently, this may become a very relevant technology. The cost of buying 5000 block looks like it is about $9000 right now though!

I have a question..
Is not ponzi?

It's real cloud mining?
