Hello everyone! I have compiled up a RieCoin generic x86-64 cpu pool solo miner. It is modified from dave-andersen's fastrie miner, it will connect to ric1.gpupool.com , total fee 4 RIC/block. It do not need AVX instruction set support, and the efficiency seems to be same as xpoolx.com's miner. Anybody wish to test it? Usage: Just fill your RieCoin(RIC) address into config.json, set the threads you want to use, and run RicSoloPoolMiner.exe. Domain problems? My miner only links to "ric1.gpupool.com", you do not need to set it, and you can't use other miner to connect to my pool. Plase visit http://GPUPool.com and download RicSoloPoolMiner-b18.zip . Based on my preliminary tests, the income of my miner is 2 times higher than mining at xpoolx.com. This needs to be conformed and I don't know why. In theory, the income should be only 10% - 15% higher when solo mining. Can you post the detail prompt if you can't run my RicSoloPoolMiner.exe ? |

Upcoming preparation release, HARD FORK AT BLOCK 50 000 in two months!!
A release is upcoming in the coming days. It will contain preparations for coming features. The release will be a drop in replacement if you are running version 0.9.1.7x.
However, this release will create a HARD FORK at block 50 000. Block 50 000 will be created in approximately two months.
The following updates are included in the release:
- Deposit transactions will be allowed to have more than one input. This will enable the wallet (in the release after this one) to automatically create deposits from any content that you have in a wallet.
- The number of deposit transactions in a block will be allowed up to a maximum of 1000, updated from previously 10. This will make it easier to enable pooled mining, with externally provided deposits.
- Changed difficulty adjustment algorithm at block 50 000. The new diff adjustment algorithm will be much faster. It will update every 252 blocks with a max adjustment factor of 2 up or down. Adjustment speed will be 64 times higher than current diff adjustment. The reason for this is twofold:
1. To prevent block generation from being stuck if a sudden drop in mining power occurs.
2. In the future when deposit mining will be more and more important, preventing the block generation from being stuck if deposits are being withheld.
Updates and new release branch will be created on Thursday.
When will you release the Windows/Linux compiled version ? Thanks for all your great work on this unique innovate coin, that is a very professional work indeed, and wish Credits to be succeed. By the way, do you need some CRE donation? I guess that the value of CRE you controlled now is much less than you should get for the work you have done on CRE till now. |

Thanks for your valuable advice. Total fee changed to 4 RIC/block now. Serious bug in miner fixed (generate all RIC to wrong address). Please download the miner again. As nobody use the this service except me till now, version is still RicSoloPoolMiner-b17. |

1. Bug report: The wallet may stop response when the Bitcoin info window is open. This usually happens in minutes when synchronizing, and takes much longer when the block chain is up to date.
2. Suggest: General user (except the claimer, the miner, the exchange platform) who do not need very high safety level could use a option to completely do not synchronize with Bitcoin block chain. In such condition, the transaction outputs with Credits claimed from Bitcoin (or atomic swapped from Bitcoin in future version of Credits) should be marked immature before enough conformations of the claim transaction, for example, 1000 conformations.
Of course, I do think the current optimization on disk usage and block parsing speed should be on the highest priority.

so mine yet to low diff  I ask ghostlander if he wants to help you/us but that will be a fork, to neoscrypt! what do you think about this? I do think if needs to change the POW algorithm, a proved CPU only algorithm is better. For example, the RieCoin Prime number finding algorithm. |

Unpack it, run "run_NRS2_wallet.bat". When synchronized, select "Mining->Solo Mining On" and start solo mining. Solo mining is very easy now since the difficulty is only around 0.02. I am not a coin developer, and this is the first time I release a compiled wallet. I am just somebody "invested" on NRS in the year 2014, and decide to read the source code after NRS2 released, and...... Yes, since January, by a VPS and sometimes a VIA multicore CPU with PadLock function. That is why I should give out some of the coins I mined to NRS and NRB snapshot holders. (But I lost some of the mined coins due to the damaged wallet.dat.) Not only in my wallet, in the original synchronized barwizi's wallet released by blackxx1977, when you type "gettxoutsetinfo" in the command window, you will get the same information. |

To make the block reward random based on the same block's proof of work is a very bad idea. Furthermore, barwizi forgotten to check the randomSeed's proof of work before accepting a block, that means miners can fill the randomSeed as they will. A greedy miner will certainly fill to generate 22222 NRS2 each block, which will make the snapshot of NRS and NRB to NRS2 completely meaningless.
Maybe fix it, stop current NRS2 blockchain, restart a new chain is the best choice of ours.
Another choice is just let NRS2 to be a new coin.
Because of a lot people's NRS is on exchanges when snapshot, I think maybe we could redo the snapshot of NRS, add the value of old and new snapshot to form the final snapshot.
By the way, I think barwizi could write a white paper to describe the exact working logic of the Lotto and Vote, then the community could check whether the code functions right.
No reply? Now I compiled up a Windows 32bit version of NRS2 wallet, v1.0.6.0-g-beta. It is fully compatible with the barwizi's 64bit v1.0.5.0-g-beta wallet, no hard forks. The solo mining function of this wallet is optimized, you can mine NRS2 at about 500k Hash/s per thread on modern CPU by this wallet. I am running this wallet on my VPS Server. I decide to transfer part of the NRS2 I mined to at least top 300 NRS and top 300 NRB holders except the address of exchanges manually by using the snapshot of Sep. 9th, 2014, after somebody provides a verified amount, old NRS/NRB address and new NRS2 address list and point out the exchange's addresses. The rate is 1 NRS holds at the snapshot will receive at least 100 NRS2 (to be discussed). Let us continue this barwizi's block chain? I am very busy now, so replies maybe slow, sorry for this. Shares brief: Block interval: 2 minutes.
