I really think that due to the paycoin miners switching back and the new antminers being delivered the difficulty will rise more than the 7%, maybe 10-12%?  Thats my very inexperienced estimate

Thanks Dogie.  I'm very new and not very computer literate - I can see how to update the firmware, but where does it tell me the current firmware?

Hello all

Can anyone tell me if my antminer s3's will automatically set the difficulty? or do I need to use d=?? for my password? or does it not matter?

Hello everyone

Hopefully someone can help me.

I rigged up my first 3 s3's last night and they were running at about 450gh/s, so all OK.

Overnight they all went down to about 200gh/s, so I turned them all off and started them again - they then went up to 450gh/s again.

They have been working for about 4 hours and now one of them has reduced again, but at the moment the other 2 seem to be OK.

Any advise would be great!  They are new from Bitmain yesterday,.

Thanks
Adam

UPDATE- Today so far only 1 of them is doing it, just reducing to about 200gh/s approx. every 4 hours.

They are now at full speed again.  Any advise would be great.  They are new batch 11 straight from Bitmain.

Hopefully this doesnt keep happening

Thanks for your replies.

I've woken up this morning to very cool miners, have logged in and they are all (3 of them) going about 260gh/s?  i've turned them off and on to see if this helps.  Does anyone know why this is?

How about the PCI-E connectors?  Does it not matter that they are off one cable?

17  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / PSU requirements on: December 22, 2014, 08:58:57 AM
Hi all

Another question thats been asked over and over by the looks of it, but I can not find a simple yes or no answer.

Will a Corsair CX500M power 1xantminer s3?  It has 2 PCI-E connectors but on one cable.  I have seen replies saying yes, and then just read another that says it will but on two cables, but it only comes with 1.

thanks for anyones help Smiley BTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTC
18  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Which pool on: December 16, 2014, 12:57:11 PM
Hello all

Is there such a thing as a good mining pool or bad?  Will the payout be similar in all?  I will have 3 x antminer s3's to mine with and am trying to figure out which pool to use.

Is it better to use one like mmpool that only finds a block once a month or slush that them daily?

Thanks  Grin

Thank you for all your feedback - I have taken everything on board and bought 3 s3's.  Can anyone advise me on PSU's?  Will a 1200W Corsair be enough for all 3? or is it a matter of the bigger the better?

The reason I have decided to buy these miners is that I would mine as a hobby and just pay the electric bill, rather than buy the BTC.

Thanks for your replies.  are there no miners about <$1500-2000 ish that will make ROI within a few months?

I think I might go down the route of buying BTC then, and trying to find sites that I can spend it on.
