3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoincard.org on: April 14, 2015, 01:46:34 AM
The tech is mostly not even here yet, actually. Thats why it took so long to build this. Cutting edge tech companies would sign a contract with us, then go out of business, and we'd have to spend 2 months looking for a replacement and redesigning the hardware.

Right now the cards are fully functional. I had one to show at the Miami Bitcoin Conference a few months back. It's fully flexible (board, screen, battery), dirt proof, and water resistant. Has connectors to charge and transmit data, and a radio to do the same. Also has actual working buttons. And despite this, it is still only as thin as a credit card. It would have been ready for production and sale last month, but we discovered that if you flex it too much the gold leads connecting the CPU can cross and short out, so we have had to move the CPU to the other side, and that means redesign the board connections, order more prototypes from the factory, and do more vigorous testing. We hope to get prototypes in around June or so. In the mean time, we also got a $150,000 grant for "innovative hardware" or something, to redesign the UI and make it completely intuitive out-of-the-box. So, if all goes well and all the testing comes back with good results, we may be able to get production going by the end of this fall. Tiny things can cause huge delays with these things.
I'd be interested to see a prototype.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof-of-stake is more decentralized, efficient and secure than PoW- white paper on: April 02, 2015, 04:09:14 PM
So instead a cartel of miners you'll get a cartel of crypto-banks and exchanges with lots of coins in their cold wallets for which they'll additionally earn interest, without having to reinvest in new generation hardware. MtGox would have dominated a PoS-version of Bitcoin quite exclusively back then.

Not that I know of any better solution, concentration of wealth and power seems to be a general problem inherent in capitalism, or possibly even any imaginable form of human society.

Would that mean exchanges would not have to take fees from users then? Enabling fee free trading?

I seen people questioning the "admin" account. Is there any response as to who owns it. (I know it's obvious it's josh) but anything publicly in regards?
No he just ignored the question. Just like coinstand.

I have never had over 20 minutes for a confirmation.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing ZiftrCOIN Release on: March 02, 2015, 10:45:29 PM
I hope an pool from ZiftrCOIN is comming soon (before a GPU miner). Since the net hash is 2x higher then when i started, i earned 0 coins in the last 15 hours on an pc with an i7 2600k. What means that like 50% of the miners got lower power then i do, what means they get nothing with mining. In an pool we would get at least something with pure cpu miners. I also got a rig with gpu's for alt coins, but i think this is the good power from this coin now; only cpu before the gpu miners get in. And that's why we need a pool asap, to many people joining. While only the people with some nice servers get most of the coins, ofc not any coin can do something about that, but a pool will help us for sure Cheesy

A pool is coming soon.
http://www.reddit.com/r/ziftrCOIN/comments/2xlqzj/ziftrcoin_pool/

To be a bit more technical, we've had a pool up and ready to go since before release. The problem is Qt wallet miners can't connect directly to a pool (they don't know to send "failed" block solve attempts to prove their effort), so we have to do some coding. We're actually a bit surprised at the excitement over CPU mining, so this wasn't on the road map. However, as per the link above, we've decided to add the pool support directly to the wallet, at which point we'll fire up our pool for everyone.
This is awesome.

Not much of an issue. But weird, John Karton replied to my Reddit post: http://www.reddit.com/r/ziftrCOIN/comments/2qj7kv/problem_with_block_reward_and_redeemable_1_value/
...

You are correct. In the first revision of our white paper it was 2,000 to 3,000 per block (commas, US english number, meaning thousands). Our white paper has had quite a few revisions and changes (eg we dropped sign to mine) since then. I hadn't seen your reddit post originally so I can't comment on that, but I know we realized that our initial distribution curve in no way matched the reality of what our initial user adoption would be.

Quick fyi, the reddit user John Karton isn't affiliated with Ziftr in anyway. They're just a well meaning community member, which we appreciate very much, but in this case they were a bit mistaken.

Also, our reddit mods haven't deleted any posts. We're 110% against censorship. Negative feedback is often just as useful as positive. It seems to be something reddit did automatically. My guess is that the sudden activity in such an old post flagged it for some reason. We've got a few more mods activated now so they can try and keep good posts out of the trash bin.
Thank you for the clarification.

Vlad2Vlad,

I have to say, I am greatly disappointed in your responses within the last 5ish pages in this thread. Very sad....
It's speculated the account was sold hence the idiotic posts

Have you seen HT ? It's not retail investors buying josh's dumps, it's the brainwashed community.  I just seen a post about a user happy he just bought 6k xpy...... as if it wont be worth $0 in a month. Poor souls Sad

You can't trust the general consensus on HT since it's a heavily censored forum just like you can't trust all the aliases on this thread as they can easily be motivated by their own personal agenda.

I find it nearly impossible to believe retail investors which are normal community investors have been buying tens of millions of dollars worth of XPY with all this massive negativity.  There's no way thousands of people have all been "brainwashed" as you suggest.

And I find it equally impossible to believe that garza dumped millions of coins yet he's still involved on a daily basis and dealing with all the negative press and all the trolls.

Often times the truth is right in the middle somewhere, and I think that's the case here.
Hundred of people have questioned josh's integrity by saying he's dumping. It would take less then 5 minutes to prove he's actually buying. You don't think he would have already if he was?
15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 24, 2015, 03:10:41 AM

Someone who premined 12 million coins?  We've already proved that.

No, that doesn't make sense.

The volumes have been massive over the past month.  If Garza was dumping this entire time that means someone outside of Garza has been buying tens of millions of dollars of XPY.

That makes absolutely no sense.  With all the negative press there's no way retail investors have been buying that much XPY.

So either some huge whales have been buying or it has been Garza but if it's Garza then the dumping is clearly not the 12 million premine.

So the question remains:  Who is dumping here, below $1?

Have you seen HT ? It's not retail investors buying josh's dumps, it's the brainwashed community.  I just seen a post about a user happy he just bought 6k xpy...... as if it wont be worth $0 in a month. Poor souls Sad
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 23, 2015, 05:06:21 PM

The reason the twat is still here is because he needs to dump all his 12 million premined xpy for bitcoin.

He's already made another million coins out of thin air, give or take...

It's crazy how people on HT don't discuss this. Who does math on an investment anyways right?

Has there been any acknowledgment of the "vacation" allegations from josh's account?

Thank you. It's crazy how half assed his responses are. I hope this ends soon so the poor investors can cut their loses and buy some BTC, what they should have done in the first place.

Why do these people refuse to join Bitcoin? All these shitcoin is just fragmentation, greed and confusion.

Why in my day, we used AOL over dialup, watched our videos on VHS, and the only social network we needed was geocities, by gum. All these newfangled "improvements" just cause fragmentation and confusion!
Are you implying paycoin is an improvement of bitcoin?
