1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the next economic crisis in the world instead cause financial inflows into on: July 06, 2021, 03:18:02 PM
People probably won't care about currencies once a economic collapse happens and by that I mean a complete economic collapse. Bitcoin, fiat and other cryptocurrencies will be treated the same. All faith will be lost in money for a while and there will probably be attempts made especially by cryptocurrencies to become the new mainstream currency used after the event but it would be more probable that people revert to trading things rather than using any money type system.
2  Other / Meta / Re: [MERIT][NSFN] We're destroying more merits than we're sending. Like, way more. on: December 11, 2018, 07:00:53 PM
I think for the higher ranks the payments might go up, depending on the market conditions of course. There is a very clear trend of high-rank accounts being destroyed far quicker than new ones being promoted.
Maybe but looking at some of the campaigns legendaries are willing to settle for sr member positions and only 20 dollars a week. I don't mind the signature campaigns gone to be honest. I think account selling will be completely eradicated if that were to happen. There are several abusers in campaigns and several legendaries sending out 50 merits for shit posts. Its a complete mess right now.

I don't understand the trouble here... Probably cause I'm new though  Grin

The only restrictions I see as being a newbie are about span time between posts or PM or whatever. That's a bit annoying but it's not DRAMATIC. It's not really important if it takes 3 years for me to go full member. Though it would hurt my pride a bit I guess...

So if the problem is with signature campaigns... Just limit signature campaigns to full member or senior members or whatever is needed.

I don't see what harm it could do. Less spam, less trouble and higher rates for the campaigns cause scarcity = higher prices.

Everyone wins.
Except for the abusers of course.

Did you not read the title? NSFN!

The thing is with signature campaigns is they are ran by the campaign managers and the campaign managers are the ones that decide on the rules of the campaign. Probably with approved by the people hiring them. The people wanting to advertise their project will not want to restrict their campaign too much because they want to advertise as much as possible. Lower ranked accounts generally earn less in signature campaigns which means they are spending less for the same amount of views. Although higher ranked accounts are much more likely to gain a click/sale due to people trusting higher ranked members judgement.

The way signature campaigns are going the payment for each rank will continue to go in a downward fashion due to the amount of people doing it and even higher ranked members not caring what they are advertising. You could probably do a social experiment and ask people to advertise a complete scam and I bet several high ranked members would gladly endorse it for some coin. The whole culture with signature campaigns is worrying to say the least. Look at the bounty forum and you will see hundreds of users willing to promote and advertise scams. Almost all of them are complete scams and doomed for failure but people are still willing to try and make a profit and do what ever they can for that. Signature campaigns will be worthless in a few years and hopefully then we can reclaim the forum back.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Pulled Off the Biggest Bitcoin Heist in History? on: October 25, 2017, 03:09:16 PM
Isn't TradeFortress one of the biggest scams in history? A lot of people stored coins on his wallet site.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin an asset or a currency? on: October 25, 2017, 02:49:48 PM
I've thought about it and it could be an asset. An asset is something you sit on and generates income and thats what bitcoin is effectively doing by holding.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you value Bitcoin ? on: October 25, 2017, 01:27:03 PM
It's the most valuable thing I own even though it's only like $5000 per one it could in the future double in price.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info Bitcoin Gold, hard fork, and BTC on: October 25, 2017, 01:25:46 PM
Ok, so I use blockchain to store my wallet.

I notice that I'm able to access a hidden away part of my profile on the website to access Bitcoin gold, and I notice my balance of BTC has remained in tact..

It appears that I now own both BTC and bitcoin gold?

This makes sense, because my wallet would contain the same data on both blockchains. Therefore, I'd be able to access the wallet on both blockchains and send or receive from each while not affecting the other.

Am I missing something here? I've been reading about some people saying that blockchain.info will be converting everthing to bitcoin cash, which of course I don't.

May I suggest in future that you put your coins into a desktop wallet. it's generally safer and when a fork comes blockchain.info might not accept it.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The time bitcoins are completely mined... on: October 25, 2017, 01:22:10 PM
When all Bitcoins are mined thats theoretically the highest Bitcoin will ever be it means that Bitcoin is exclusive to it's members.
10  Economy / Services / Re: $25,000USD reward for help : Stolen Bitcoin funds on: October 25, 2017, 01:21:16 PM
Hi All,

Some dickcheese stole a lot of money from me. (this is only part of it). The other part is being investigated by another party already.

Here is the current Bitcoin wallet.

The funds got into this wallet after being moved out of ETH into BTC at Shapeshift.

Last known location of funds:

https://btc.com/1JSg6iDvG99aGdMixi1H3xfhvQ8UqpxVx1

I'm offerring a $25,000 USD reward to anyone smart enough to track this person down. There has to be a historic transaction linking him to something, somehow or a future move this person makes that may help us identify them.

I'll pay the reward to anyone who can provide me with enough evidence to identify this person to law enforcement.

God Speed.

If it's been stolen no one will be able to help you unless you contact the authorities and get them to look into the situation and hopefully the hacker slipped up some where.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some government ban bitcoin? on: October 25, 2017, 01:20:09 PM
They fear anything they can't control so if they can't regulate anything they'll end up banning it only some countries will embrace Bitcoin for what it is.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: October 25, 2017, 01:19:26 PM
I mean I don't think there's any more crime happening with Bitcoin than it is daily with cash. I don't understand the reason why people think it's used more.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons Why Bitcoin Price Drops on: October 25, 2017, 01:18:27 PM
News is the fundamental reason why Bitcoin drops and surges at different points whether it's bad or good news it doesn't matter it will affect the price and the amount of people buying and selling.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin again down? on: October 25, 2017, 01:17:41 PM
Bitcoin again down now its price 5495$.now its time buy bitcoin and hold tight. So donot miss this chance

This is the correction. The hype which was caused by bitcoin gold and free coins made it spike in price and now it's coming down to it's true value.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't enter your private keys to claim bitcoingold, yet! on: October 25, 2017, 01:16:01 PM
Now that the fork happened Im sure a lot of websites will pop up so you can claim your free bitcoingold.

Dont use them yet. Wait for a trusted website or wallet.

Also, wait for exchanges if they will trade BTCGOLD.

Only use trusted wallets Do not use any online websites.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Wolf of Wall Street] BTC is a fraud ! on: October 25, 2017, 01:15:05 PM
By our friend Jordan Belfort : https://cointelegraph.com/news/wolf-of-wall-street-calls-bitcoin-a-fraud

Someone wants to buy BTC low price !

Someone else looking for attention? He can't manipulate the market like with other currencies.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Signature Campaigns on: October 25, 2017, 01:14:23 PM
Signatures paying out in Bitcoin are worth it but any that are offering their own coins is just like a premine basically.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you find interesting ICO ? on: October 25, 2017, 01:13:31 PM
Just follow the ANN section and visit each individually and look at their white paper you'll normally find whether they are worth your time from that alone.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In it just for the money? on: October 25, 2017, 01:10:34 PM
When investing in ICOs, are there times when you invest for a high ROI but don't really care for the cause behind the project? Or do you only invest when you believe the project has a strong use case and feel personally attached?

I am new to BitcoinTalk but I am not new to investing. With all my investments, my criteria is whether I believe in the idea and whether it is something the world needs. In other words, if I don't feel personally invested in the idea, then I won't be investing my money.

For example, there is a new project called Protex and I invested in their pre-sale because I believe they are going to solve a major issue the entire world has. They are a data security company that will give the power of data back to the users instead of large corporations. All while essentially eliminate data breaches. With a platform that will positively affect everyday of my life, it is easy to be invested in them.

But I want to know your thoughts! In it just for the money?

well generally the project which has a good way of going about things normally has long term success which means you get more money. So I do care about the project.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to buy ETH now? on: October 25, 2017, 12:45:30 PM
Good time to as any really I think the more time you leave it the more you will regret it and will have to pay higher prices.
