Ok, you can call me stupid. LOL I'm not sure what all that means ... but here's what I did.

1. I have the FBX wallet working.
2. I downloaded the Fairbrix-pack and unzipped
3. I started it by opening the START-MINING MS-DOS BATCH FILE
4. I followed the instructions on the black window that appeared
5. It read "press enter if mining solo" on every input
6. It trys do start but the message reads  "HTTP request failed: couldn't connect to host
and json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds"

Eventually it shuts down after 5 minutes

I tried my own IP address and it still did the same thing.

I'm not as smart as you, and I appreciate your help.

I don't care if people think it is dead or not. I would like to mine it anyway. GG level is fine.

Ok, I did receive the 38 fbx. I'm happy with that.

However, I still can't get the miner to work.
It still reads
HTTP request failed: couldn't connect to host
and json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds

Eventually it shuts down after 5 minutes

Help

Also... I tried to send 38 fairbrix to my newly installed wallet. no confirmations. it did come out of my account. I looked at Fairbrix transactions at Blockexplorer and there was no such record. What's happening?

I've been mining it, seems to still be alive.

I have interest in mining fairbrix. Where can I start doing this?

look at the receiving address. if it doesn't show confirmations you can go to blockexplorer and manually find you transaction.

I tried out a new bitcoin game where you try to "step" around the "bombs" .  You can win up to 5 x the amount you bet. The link is  http://bitcoin-kamikaze.com/

Very addicting!

Well, if you would not recommend Fairbrix... then what 2 or three types would you recommend besides Bitcoin?

Indirectly. Dwolla will take money straight from your bank account. It usually take about 4-5 days. Then you transfer to Mt. Gox. This takes 30 Minutes. Then buy bitcoins on Mt. Gox. (instant if you buy above ask)

I have had 5 transactions already and it works great everytime.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best site to purchase bitcoins? on: November 05, 2011, 10:17:53 PM
Mt. Gox is easy. You can use Dwolla.com to take straight from your bank account. Takes 4 days to complete.
Transfer to Mt. Gox. Buy bitcoins. Spend!
