2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FutureBit Project Apollo: Bringing ASIC Mining Back to the Home Miner! on: September 29, 2024, 12:57:31 AM
Went as high as 30TH twice this week but no block yet.
currently runing Apollo v1 controlling one Apollo v2 and gets an average 10TH  at balanced mode. Still runs great even though the message above occurs from time to  time. The issue you mentioned probably is Apollo v1 firmware and can that be updated?

Get this message once a week after a solid run. Miner stops runing and have to reboot

[GraphQL error]: Message: Int cannot represent non 32-bit signed integer value: 2465141381

I have been running Apollo v1 node since inception and  now with Apollov2 i'm asked what is my wallet address.

Also where is the wallet address of our node? Don't really understand that part thought do understand bitcoin wallets with password in general.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Introducing Apollo II on: May 05, 2024, 02:46:13 PM
My setup is Apollov1 full node with Apollov2 standard piggybacked.

MRR only shows hash from Full node at 3TH. Gui show everything happily running at 8TH on eco mode for now. Gui also shows their are no pools accepting hashes nor is their a pool selected.
Their is a pool selected and the gui shows it happily mining. Where? Whats gui running at 8th for. Adding other pools seems to work as it should.

Also why can't you add a fallback pool, you said you were 5 years ago? Your 1st Gui was better simple and no fluff. The design of the second Apollo way beyond belief. Your inginuity is up their with The Dysons of the world.

Add more lines to pool url  with 3 (or more) default options. Fallback is very important in mining.

Been waiting a couple years for this feature any idea if it will get added?

I think about moving the money from Exodus wallet to Atomic wallet.
Just import it and then you can compare if it is any better

~snip~
Nothing is working, though all lights seem to be on whenpowered. not even hooking up orange pi as if i wanted to use it with ubuntu. I fear its the controller. Looking for options?
Can I send it in for service?

You will probably save time and money if you make sure the miner itself is working by connecting it with a USB cable to any PC or a Raspberry Pi. Then just execute the binary with your settings and see if it works.

If the miner doesn't work then yeah, you might need to send it all back. But if the miner works, then the rest can probably be solved with a new image, or just some remote troubleshooting. Or you can just use your PC anyway.

Hooking up via usb cable to a pc  computer/ Linux too, works with binaries. Prefer the controller setup. Orange Pi is bad

......the end............

I did some detailed cleaning of my full unit by removing cover, unmounting fan and taking dust out.
By doing so I realized it's not necessary, because most of dust stays outside and it's enough to make sure that visible side edges of radiator are clean. Anyway...

My PI board stopped booting now Smiley

I tried re-flashing with Apollo image, Armbian image (for Orange Pi4), but I still get no HDMI output. Red and Green LEDs are lighted up (w/o blinking).
Do I need serial cable to investigate or is there something I can do without cable?

I ran into the same problem and determined it is the Year old Controller board. Both my units run nicely using a PC so I know its the controller .

Several post above I had problems flashing card and getting controller to boot and through trial and error........ The cards will flash easily. Using Windows 7 and raspberry imager.
Though my problem is controller.
upon taking Apollo apart  I retightened loose fan on controller(suggest locktight).  controller will boot into its os, after setting up software and playing around with linux, 3 minutes later the sytem goes dark. Controller doesn't boot into os.

Could be HDMI ?Controller overheating?  Everyday I get it to boot when its cold for 3 minutes?

With that said having binaries is working on a windows PC and both miners are hashing.

@ jstefanop
Nice job on the build as I took it apart and put it together it really was thought out and designed impeccably.
also I need windows binaries  to work on Windows server2012 and when plugged in it finds usb device put needs a driver. Do you have a driver to install using device manager?

Okay maybe makes sense after a year or so
............sofar no luck on getting a new image flashed to sdcard. trying another card...

Nothing is working for me. using etcher, decompressing img.xy to img file. using several different sdcards. nothing so now going to try using pc with binaries later?

Try the Raspberry Imager.

Nothing is working, though all lights seem to be on whenpowered. not even hooking up orange pi as if i wanted to use it with ubuntu. I fear its the controller. Looking for options?

yes, should I down grade?

I trying to find out why my Apollo stops hashing after several days. When looking at the miner it has all lights blinking and looks to me thats it trying to has.

Log file anywhere stored ?
The fix is to unplug all cables to it and replug them including  ethernet cable. Just turning power off and on doesn't work.

-Front Blinking Red
-Back 1 solid Green 1 Blinking Green
-Back Ethernet blinking yellow

I tend to think its internet related , if only it made a little noise to see if its hashing Smiley

My setup is 1500w power supply running at 110V running 2 apollos (standard and Main)
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][P2POOL] p2pool nodes on p2p-usa.xyz(Chicago) on: February 19, 2022, 05:28:21 PM
Does bech32 wallet address work on p2ppools now?
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo BTC Software/Image and Support thread on: February 04, 2022, 02:35:50 AM
All set with the cable thanks all. The good thing its one that we get with a lot of table and phone devices. The hookup was painless  and both hashing great.
Nice to see 313 watts used with 6TH hashing at the balance setting. I remember my Avalon 721 needing 1200watts for 6TH. Oh so quite too
Thanks for making this device possible

Okay so what is the cable that connects 2 miners in this case. Both ends need to be what________________?

My standard unit shipped without the mini usb cable to connect it to the other futurebit miner i have. Also does the standard unit behave like a usb miner? where if I plug it into the computer using mini usb to usb that bfgminer would pick it up ?
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo BTC Software/Image and Support thread on: December 30, 2021, 08:49:15 PM
Yes my miner has been running none stop for months now with room temperature under 40f.
I hope the next release will add the  second line for pool configuration. It hurts my bottom line when the main pool is down and miner can't mine a additional one.
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo BTC Software/Image and Support thread on: December 25, 2021, 10:31:57 PM
Yes!!!! Now I wait download the blockchain and then start to mine....  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
You can still mine something even though the download isn't finished.
