My PSU died few days back, tried to connect from other M3 that I have and it runs fine, so definitely dead PSU.
Lets see how good is the warranty support, I have created a ticket...

PSU barely lasted 3 months.
60usd just for sending it back to china. New psu 105usd.
Spent 4000usd on their units and they wont cover shipping costs under warranty, even though I told them I will cover costs if they find out it died by my fault (it didnt).
Thank you but no thank you.
Units are paper weight anyway, they are turned off.
I know it is their policy but I have a store too and I cover shipping costs under waranty.
They are lucky they are not based in EU because they wiuld need to comply with 24 months of waranty and not a shitty 6 months which some items obviously cant live up to.

Cool but to me looks like it should be from line 96-135
Here is my code from 96-135. Am I right?

I cant login to my account on kano.is few days already. Payments were fine.
"To many failures, come back later"
Is this because of server change?

Seems like a lot of folks are forgetting and putting in their email address instead of their username.  That will also cause your account to get locked out.  PM Kano to unlock your account and you will be back in business. Smiley

User name and pass was saved in crome so something is changed then lately? It was always user as mail address.

There is no risk.
We will get the backup from you, we will adjust that yet.
After payment, there is once the firmware and the finished backup back.
If there are any problems or not working then we will help. It comes in 5% of miners that it does not work 100%. Then you get your money back or a partial amount as agreed

What is the power consuption at 16ths?

Ordered about $40,000 worth of mining equipment from Halong and DHL is stating I have to pay more than $1,200 in import duty taxes and fees! Is this right? I had no idea it would be this much. I live near the customs office, should I try to clear it myself? I’m in the USA.

Lol in my country you would pay over 10k for import taxes. So consider yourself lucky Smiley

Are you serious that you have to pay 25%? It is so high IMO, indeed 1,2k is still low compared to what I have pay here in my country as from $40,000 then I will need to pay at least $4k (10%).
OP: if you think it is too high, you should check the official rules/laws about import/export of your local government.

Yes I am dead serious. On approx 12k $ of equipment I paid approx 3,5k $ for taxes.
I dont need to check I already know that and that is how it is around here.
Mining equipment is considered as computer equipment so we "only" need to pay VAT, if it was something else we would have to pay approx 10% more for customs charges.
It is a ripoff...

What wire gauge does the power cord from socket to psu have?

It’s the cable provider by Pangolinminer together with the M3 and PSU.

They provide 1,5mm2 cable with the unit which does the job great and does not get warm.
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: April 03, 2018, 06:36:43 AM
Hi all,
I tried with a host for my M3s that I received 2 weeks ago but there’s not much luck What happened is that after running for 24 to 48 hours straight, the cables got burnt out once, another time the fuse of the socket got burnt. Anyone has similar challenge or able to advise how to overcome this? Thanks

Guys you need to do some homework before runing a miner or you will ger your house burnt down. So M3 drains approx 2200w, if you are on 230v you should use 1,5mm2 cables. It should be rated 16amps. It should be also in a power circuit that is protected with 16A fuse.
Wrong.

1.5 mm2 - Max. circuit breaker size: 10 Amps

2.5 mm2 - Max. circuit breaker size: 16 Amps

This is how it is done in installations which comply with the IEC standards.

I know, when I said 1,5m2 16A I was refering to cable from miner to socket. The instalations in a house should be done by electrician so I consider it was done by standars.

I have been running my M3 for a few days now.

But I'm slightly concern with the boards temp.

1st board always at 85 degrees Celsius

2nd board always at 80 degrees Celsius, or slightly lesser like 78~79.

3rd board always at 80 degrees Celsius, or slightly lesser like 78~79.

My country is quite warm and daily temp is about 30~32C. Night temp is about 26C.

Any M3 user here to advise?

Everything is normal. It likes to keep temps of chips around 80C.
I was runing it even with ambient temp around 5C but chips stays around 83C. The same is with ambient temp 25C. Just fan runs a bit faster. So nothing to worry about.
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: March 27, 2018, 07:45:46 PM
I don't have it any more so I can't test it to see, if fully working unit can have other PSU and still work fine with 3 hashboards.

Yes it can, I just tested it, 2 boards connected to APW++ and one board connected to DPS-800GB (HP 1000w PSU), and it works like a charm on full speed.
15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: March 27, 2018, 08:18:09 AM
I was doing some testing with one of my M3 last night and I connected Bitmain APW3++ to M3 and power on 2 hashing boards with it.
And it was just what I expected, the miner runs really quiet, only thing that makes loud noise is original M3 PSU.
With Bitmains PSU miner loudness is something like L3+, which is way quieter than S9.
At aprox 12 degrees celsius fans run at approx 3000rpm but the sound is so smooth, no swirling sound like on S9.
With 2 hashing boards connected current consumption is 1400w (230v) and hash rate is approx 7,5-8Ths
So later I will connect one more server PSU 1kw that I have spare and connect the last hashing board.
I will leave this one at home (since it is really quiet now) and see how it behaves and take original PSU to collocation to power some other miners.
I expect a bit more RPM but since the miner likes to run its chips at around 80 degrees celsius it shouldnt change much. But like I said, it has really smooth air flow, so i dont think sound will change a lot even if I get bit more RPM.

I was wondering if it will work since APW doesnt have that strange 3pin connector (like fan) that connects to controller board but it runs just fine without it.
So for all of you guys that dont have collocation you can silence the miner this way.

Dont know a about avalons but I shut down my s9s and m3s trough ssh, command poweroff. Leave them to cool down and then unplug psu.

And THAT has got to be the absolute safest way!

Well I suppose it is. I just dont feel comfortable unpluging something that drains 2.2kw (like M3) without proper shutdown. Not to mention sparkling effect that is sometimes seen in the socket. Also this way chips can properly cool down, if you just unplug them while they are at 85 degrees whole miner gets damn hot.
17  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: If electricity in my home goes of does it harm my miner? on: March 21, 2018, 11:26:20 PM
Thank you all for your answers! One more question please, i have 3 avalon741. As you know they dont have a power button. If i want to turn them off which is the best way tp do it? Should i turn of first the power supply?

Look at it this way your PSU is your on/off button for the Avalons, in the same way you could push the power button on your PC. There is no shutdown feature to idle in the way you would choose shutdown for your PC. Again this is a feeling I remember having myself when the first time I wanted to shut things down, you eventually get past the small hurdles.

Good luck.

If you switch to canaan you will have to buy some spare parts too. So consider that also since I suppose that you already have spares for S9.

Kada je neko novi i neiskusan u svijetu kriptovaluta i mjenačnica, mogao bi zamijeniti backup kod i QR kod kojeg skenirate kako bi aktivirali 2FA.
To dvoje nisu ista stvar.

Znam. Na cca 10 stranica koristim autentifikator i mijenjao sam mobitel mislim 4 puta u par godina. Svaki put je sve proslo bezbolno. Svaki put samo odma prilikom pokretanja 2fa odma si isprintam to i odlozim sa ostalima...
