2  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hit the Block (Player's Edge Betting) on: April 19, 2015, 09:47:47 AM

have you done this before? i'm cool with sending you 5 btc but how sure will it be that i am not the one being scammed? i'll sleep first and let the scripts run. when i wake up we can arrange the escrow. i have 30 btc in the wallet where the script is running for now. everything is automatic so those who want to try the game can play even while i sleep.

Use one from this list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0
Preferably devthedev or Quickseller.

Good luck Cheesy

P.S. Try setting up a site too, I think they have more confidence in a site that pure thread. Dunno why. Wink

thanks for your help

btw. Don't you think the house edge is a little too high?

actually the player's edge is high as long as they can hit the right block

Sorry, I did the math wrong!!
wow.  Shocked Cheesy

But, what is your part of the cake??

i'm hoping they don't make their target block. that's all.

Yep. sorry, I added the quotes in the message. Wink

Do you want  an escrow? I am willing to be one.
No fee. Tips appreciated. kind of ecrow. Wink

seriously? no fee? how can i be sure that it will be ok? how does it work anyway?

Yeah. the normal fee is 1%. But many escrows do it for free too. It involves just holding and releasing funds, right? I mean no other responsibilities?

It works like this:
1. You send a part of the funds to the escrow. say 5BTC? (less if you are lowegin the max bet) an amount that will cover any losses made by the participant.
2. Players play.
3. The security is that, if you end up scamming etc. (which is quite prevallent here, though you don't seem like such a person Smiley) the escrow will be able to cover the scammed amount of funds of the players.
4. If nothing happens, after a period or when the game closes, or when you requests, the funds are send back to you, after the escrow posting here letting everyone know that the funds are no longer at escrow.

You can also pick one from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0
devthedev, and Quickseller is recommended, since they are around most of the time. Smiley

Edit: I got to go now. If you are going to use escrow, you one on the list.
Thanks Smiley

Can you sign something that proves you can pay out an 18 btc for your first bet?

i have 30 bitcoins in my ubuntu server running bitcoind and another 60 offline. how can i sign the one for this game? i haven't tried it yet, if you can help me that would be great but i will try to figure it out.

this is the best guide on how to sign a message by shorena https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0

you can simply sign a simple message

Code:
"Hi this is hittheblock, I own this address <address> and today is <today's date>

"Hi this is hittheblock, I own this address 1srcdhityWS2HPr2Wx22bAodMgtnJCRzY and today is 04/19/2015."

is this enough?

even if the game is based on the blocks and therefore is not manipulated, you are a new user, and there are no guarantees that you pay after winning. you should use an escrow

payment is automatic, if someone's trustworthy enough here i can put up a security deposit or something to prove that i will pay

Hit the Block (Player's Edge Betting)

Hi this is my first commercial betting program. It's so simple to play.
Let me know if you have suggestions to improve it.

Win 18x your bet:
Send any amount from 0.01 btc to 1 btc to:
12468ZjBthJYXDeFKZywXfJi9bCacQtiQB
You will win 18x your bet if the following conditions are met:
1. The block height of your transaction is an even number (ends with 0,2,4,6,8).
2. The last digit of the block hash is equal to the last digit of the transaction hash. (this happens 1 every 16 times)
Notes:
Only 1 bet per transaction.
If the bet is more than 1 btc, only 1 btc will be considered and the rest is donation.
If the bet is less than 0.01 btc, it is considered as donation.
If you win, you will get your prize using the first bitcoin address input (like satoshidice).
Prizes will be sent after 2 block confirmations.

Win 1.1x your bet:
Send any amount from 0.01 btc to 1 btc to:
13579cvHx6QukzwzYp6PuQvpwBgA4GFApc
You will win 1.1x your bet if the following conditions are met:
1. The block height of your transaction is an odd number (ends with 1,3,5,7,9).
2. The last digit of the block hash is not equal to the last digit of the transaction hash. (this happens 15 every 16 times)

If you have any problem, just comment and I will try to respond as soon as I can. I want to improve this depending on the reception of the players. You can test your wallet using the minimum bet to be sure that you will get your winnings. You can verify everything using any web based block chain explorer.
