So... those people want torrenting to be a for-pay system? This sounds like the anti-piracy argument about money would become a lot stronger. I'd rather sharing be part of the mining process, so that no one is directly paying money for a download. Having the currency itself reward sharing is a much better system. |

Unfortunately what the dev is trying to achieve is not possible /realistic...that's what he's been saying over IRC for the past few days and has now left the project for good. He said he would close the thread and provide a formal update to you all very soon! Just a friendly heads up. I don't like how this dev operates and I felt entitled to post this. Sorry Justin. ( devs real name) Justin Liao ...lives somewhere in HK ...all I know folks.

Sorry. It just won't work/can't be done. We have had our teams analyze this extensively. Stay tuned for an official update.
Any reply to this Blazin888? Just this last week you said your team had analysed this feature "extensively" and concluded it cant be done...Why have you changed your mind in 3 days? Your credibility hinges on answering this. Dont see why anyone would want to invest in your project if your team is full of flip-floppers who dont know what they are doing Somebody gave blazin credibility? |

Hello, I have been very busy with my job but this project is far from abandoned. I wanted to post on thread once push notification is ready with some design fixed in client from user reported problem. Our push notification will support all mobile OS (Android, iOS) including Desktop (Chrome, Firefox, Safari/Mac OS X). Regards, vTorrent Here's some screenshot of push notification working example.  Well, that's cool. Honestly, I'd be more impressed if you'd started with the torrent app before everything else, but it's your project to do in whatever order you feel is best. I think the dev isn't capable this is why he has moved on from this project. He has confirmed this in a PM to me

Personally I think the syncing feature of the client urgently needs to be fixed before developments in other departments should be taken too far. I opened my client overnight and the last 10 days of activity still haven't synced up.
I'm running the client since a few hours ago and the syncing is slowly going... 22% It took me dayyyyyyys to download the full chain.. maybe over a week. That's pretty bad for a "torrent" coin who's blockchain size is in the range of 250mb. It is still a young ambitious coin. Anyone know what the v is for? I think it's for making it a pain in the ass to use a search engine to find anything about it. 90% of results are for utorrent, which just makes this project look like a conspicuous knock-off. Why the hell can't duckduckgo or google just search for the damn terms I typed? Though vaporware does seem like an equally plausible theory. |

I'd rather have him working than joking with 1,000 morons in slack.
This is a serious project at a serious stage... alpha testing of torrent functionality...
There is a reason why you have zero working crypto torrent projects as of May 2015...
Except maybe Storj (uses torrent lib) apparently finished 1st round of alpha = many months away.
That's good. Sounds like the dev could use a non-technical friend to keep the public updated. Right on time. Apparantly the beta is coming this week or anytime now. He said if all goes well I'll be starting beta in the next 2 weeks.. exactly 2 weeks ago!...hope you have some good news dev. Check out devs post history he said so himself. I'm betting you intended to quote the post after mine, but whatevs. Good news is good news. |

People should have their own VTR market pages where they can post uploads for people to download or stream and watch like youtube.
Users should be able to set VTR prices for their videos or get some type of incentives to upload.
If this happens ill be compiling up an up-to-date library of college textbooks in PDF form, might as well kill that racket while we're at it Word. Though I warn you, those companies make it a pain in the ass to do. The digital formats are usually not pdfs, but poorly programmed websites. It might be easiest to simply scan them page by page. |

To all the early bag holders, chill out, 5 months and all VTR has is a wallet..  Yes that maybe so but it also hasn't dumped to 1 sat like most coins that only have a wallet would've already done  Right? Because of speculators. What do speculators have to do with the price? I think that if this coin hasn't even gone under 100 sats since its release that says something right there about what people feel this coin could be capable of because I've seen many a coins lately especially with a way lower coin supply going for less than 100 sats so the fact that this coin is still trading for what it is trading for says something about what people feel this coin will be worth someday lol.. "people feel this coin will be worth someday" = speculators. The "coin" needs to represent some service, right now it is just a coin.. Patience is a virtue. Good things come to those who wait. Trite aphorisms aren't code. I'm waiting patiently (Hell, I don't even have a computer I can run the code on at the moment), but most of the convo in this thread isn't about the code; it's about currency speculation. Until there's a client, this is just a good idea that a bunch of people are gambling on. People are welcome to gamble or not, but doubt is a perfectly reasonable response at this point. |

I for one don't play the markets (don't make enough), but I still think this looks questionable until the software actually drops. I'm interested in mining via sharing (potentially getting paid for a good deed), not playing speculation markets. That kind of gaming reeks of all the worst aspects of capitalism.

....Also the dev hasn't delivered anything he's just copy pasted from other devs work...nothing orginal here yet...that's why I can't figure out why the price is moving..
Litecoin was copy pasted from other devs work. Nothing original there still. Didn't stop it getting to $50/LTC, when there were ~20m+coins in circulation I'll remember to send you a postcard from the beach bar  I think everyone is getting way to ahead of themselves....this may be a good idea but dev can't deliver this tech...maybe another coin will first. The price will probably drop soon As long as somebody does this, I'm happy about it. |

I've found digital currency interesting for some time now, but as nothing I do encourages using bitcoin, I've never bothered. Am I correct that vtorrent plans to have sharing files be part of the mining process? If so, I'm totally in as soon as I have my own computer again. Bringing the torrent community into the digital currency game is a definite good idea. I only created an account on this site, so I could look into this.
