TBH I don't understand all the bittrex hate. Just because they host some coins that become scams, does not mean that they are bad actors. People are free to make up their own minds on what they invest in.
It's too bad that the past year has been an explosion of scams in the altcoin world but that is certainly not the fault of bittrex.
They continually update their website, albeit not very user friendly but they at least do it more often than the other major exchanges.

What a joke. The dev allready said that if the ICO requirements are not met the ICO will be considered as failed.
Very true but sometimes devs change their minds, happened a few times. So confirmation will be good. the ico considered failed doesn't mean the project is over... with bittrex they have a contract that has to be followed (or else what is the point of having a contract in the first place) and that contract states that if the 800btc min is not reached the cfc (ico) will be considered failed and a buy wall will be set up for people to get their btc back.... since this is a contract that is in place it wouldn't be fair or right to change those terms while it is running (imagine you put in a lot of money into something like this and then someone said oh, we decided that the terms of the contract now state we get a 50% premine and also the cfc is not lasting 2 weeks its lasting 5 months) its been stated many times here and many times in the r3d slack and many times on irc that they aren't abandoning the project if the cfc (ico) fails, and they will not just be releasing it, but rather finding other sources of funds in order to fuel the future development of the project, what that means to you or me if the cfc (ico) fails is up in the air (will we be able to buy r3d at some point? we don't know), what it means to r3d and its developers is that when they find the funding they deserve for this project the technology will likely be used for what it was meant to be at least in some form. Correct. Until the CFC at Bittrex comes to a close (whether successfully or not) there are contractual terms that we must follow, and one of them being that this crowdfunding campaign is exclusive to Bittrex until the close of it. The CFC/ICO at Bittrex may turn out to be unsuccessful, and if that is the case then we move forward with securing funding in other ways. The R3D project will continue regardless. We've already come too far. We'll make details public about continued funding and distribution as soon as we can. Ok so you mean current Investors will get their coins? and R3D will be launched? I don't see how this type of applications built on blockchain model is able to scale long term. doesn't look like it will make the funding amount. total was 4 billion so whatever is left currently taken away from 4 billion shud give ya the number .
More than likely so it could do it and more, but it totally depends on purpose and wants, blockchain based time stamped records i think would be much better suited to blockchain tech, which maidsafe isnt
You also don't know how this project actually works on the back end. Nobody does, so we can't tell how it will scale long term. But they have said that they ran stress tests on it to make sure it could hold a load. And if you don't want to help make a project grow it's all on you. I just want to say it's attitudes like yours that is keeping the growth slow. Why bother to put some btc in? It's to show others that you believe in the project. If you don't care then move along, come back later and buy from me at a higher price. |

Didn't realize how long it took me to type on a tablet was a big deal. What is this a dick measuring contest for how fast we type? And we got Billy bad as over here not worried about losing a few BTC. I made a post along with others wondering what the number to raise was exactly for, and got flamed. Good luck with the project, but clearly no more info is necessary, I have no more reason to check this thread.

Do you feel better now? Glad you put 2.5 BTC in a crowd funding that fell 750 BTC short of the minimum. Clearly something was missing.

I first became aware of R3D earlier today. Stoner and the development team strike me as being keen enthusiasts in new, cutting edge technology rather than staid, financial counter-casters. They may have plucked their figures out of the air as ballpark estimates, or they may have costed down to the nth degree. I will say this though: - I'm well-used to creating business plans and cashflow forecasts to put before potential investors. My experience is that the more detailed you are; the more danger of someone 'stealing' your blueprint, or gazumping what you are trying to achieve;
- The R3D team seem to be established, well-respected members of the altcoin world;
- Maybe the R3D team are thinking of consolidating the legal aspect of their operation, purchasing banks of servers, marketing in specific ways etc. etc. - as well as development, including the hiring of specific talent to undertake specific, sensitive assignments; ... and are requiring the investment to accelerate quickly into the big-league;
- Perhaps they are thinking of novel applications of interest to big business ... etc. etc.
... whatever. We have asked questions. It looks like the R3D team have been as candid as they are prepared to be. It's right to express an element of caution. With some reservation and based on my impression ... I'm in! yup, that's why I feel this is different from other projects out there. This is not POS or strict POW generating coin from thin air to dump at the exchanges. This system is designed to reward those who start their own sites and also those who like to provide content to those sites. It also makes it more expensive for trolls to do their thing, unless they are baller trolls and put their money where their mouths are. |

Not everything needs to be an investment.
And really, I put in 2.5 BTC not even giving a crap about ROI. Maybe a couple of bitcoin is too much for some of you turds who needs to be coddled with random numbers on a word/excel document to feel "safe".

Yes. The only R3D that will ever be in circulation will be what is sold during the CFC (assuming we reach our minimum of 800,000,000 R3D sold). No new R3D will ever be created. I am confused. So if the CFC doesn't sell out... all the BTC gets returned and the project never happens? yup, if it does not hit 800BTC, all the BTC is refunded. |

i don't think that bittrex has the infrastructure to do it tbh, it seems that these cfc/ico's are basically an afterthought to them (it doesn't even show the closing date/time as someone else pointed out), i think they would be better off seeing what happens, then pivoting from there.. if they decide to allow public investing again however they decide to do it, the people who are interested would be able to do it at that time, perhaps they will be interested in talking about terms and stuff at that point or what their plans are don't get me wrong... im all for group consensus, i just don't think that is how it can work on bittrex Yeah, I'm sure you're right. May get lucky and see a large investor take a bite. |
