1  Economy / Economics / Re: Minimum wage. on: August 21, 2015, 06:38:52 PM
Complete nonsense. When a large segment of society has been priced out of the job market, it is society's problem. Because if society's only solution is to tell them to be more like Edison, they are going to tear society down.

And "more valuable than zero" is not enough to live on.
Except they don't tear society down. They get angry and tear their own neighborhoods down, bringing real estate values down and businesses leave for more profitable and less violent climes. Once these unemployable and ineducable people hit rock bottom after being kicked out of mom's basement, they start killing themselves.

Drugs and guns are a way to speed the process up, but that's what happens eventually.

Then the intelligent carpetbaggers come in and buy the ghettos up, renovate what was once valuable land into something that is valuable again.

Remind us again what the negotiations were supposed to do. Why did we bother to negotiate at all?

The Iranians wanted nukes and Obama wanted a piece of paper. Everyone got what they wanted.

Lol.... it's like a mcdonalds getting cleared in Houston when the complaint was filed in Alabama....but logic seems to be lost on the extreme partisan.

14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Police chief fires Texas officer who killed unarmed teen on: August 12, 2015, 05:54:48 PM
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — A police officer who killed an unarmed college football player during a suspected burglary at a Texas car dealership was fired Tuesday for making mistakes that the city's police chief said caused a deadly confrontation that put him and other officers in danger.

Arlington officer Brad Miller, 49, could also face criminal charges once police complete their investigation, Police Chief Will Johnson said.

Called to the scene of a suspected burglary early Friday morning, Miller pursued 19-year-old Christian Taylor through the broken glass doors of a car dealership showroom without telling his supervising officer, Johnson said.

Instead of helping to set up a perimeter around the showroom, Miller confronted Taylor and ordered him to get down on the ground, Johnson said. Taylor did not comply. Instead, he began "actively advancing toward Officer Miller," Johnson said.

Just another example of police shooting first and asking questions later. This is just sad while the young man was involved in a crime does it warrant a death sentence. When did cops because judge and jury. What happen to police officers being part of the community as a trusted individual? Maybe it is time to take guns away from them. Body cameras should become law of the land. Hopefully this thug is charged with murder.

I seem to remember reading about a similar incident about 10 years ago..or was it 20...or was it....
Nothing changes in the good old US of A....

Please read the links I gave you, especially the letter. It should provide you with the answers you're looking for.

So many parallels to Atlas Shrugged...it's amazing. "Please read the links I gave you..." Even down to the begging to join in the failed cause, using phonies from science and academia to justify their abysmal and destructive actions. The smart always can see through this kind of smoke screen....not so much for the weak of education.
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: McDonald's shoots down fears it is planning to replace cashiers with kiosks on: August 09, 2015, 06:47:01 PM
This will spell the end for McDonalds. People like to serve by humans with a friendly smile not by machines!
Do we? I want my food fast, and that's about it. If I want a friendly smile, I'll go to a sit-down restaurant.
17  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Former DIA Chief Says Rise of Islamic State Was “A Willful Decision” on: August 09, 2015, 09:42:51 AM
Pay attention that when a former high officer goes to a foreign TV [Al Jazeera], well present in a sensitive environment [Arab world], usually there is a will behind all. It could be a case of diffusion of "oriented" information with a clear purpose: to diffuse mistrust and overall to make ISIS something "American", this would make it a kind of "Satan's product" in the eyes of many Islamists ... it's a great way to make them fight one each other without spending a dollar or sending a soldier ...

Let Iran fire missiles at us. We have deterrents. Israel has exactly the same thing, because we gave it to them.
Those who agree with Kriszdev about several countries engaging in nuclear war have no clue about fall out, both radiation and political. The sky is not falling, just yet.

Yea, those Russian male shortcomings keep showing here. The OP should ask the Iraq Republican Guard how U. S. troops handle Russia built junk.

I believe it was over in under 100hrs. The U.S. military was so overwhelming it became a PR issue. I remember...because I watched the entire war on TV. The Russian built equipment became coffins and was referred to as target practice.
