The green circle appears sometimes. Other times it synchronizes indefinitely.
Update Electrum to the latest version on ELECTRUM.ORG (only legit website!). Versions older than 3.3 don’t synchronize anymore and have several issues (including a phishing attack that shows fake update messages and lead to fake websites). Optionally (but highly recommended) verify the file signature. Remember to ALWAYS only use ELECTRUM.ORG regardless of the message you see. Great...I'll try that. Please start off with basic information: - What OS are you using ?
- What version of electrum are you using ?
- Did you verify the signature of the file you have downloaded (to make sure you have the REAL electrum) ?
- Is electrum synced (green / red circle at the bottom right) ?
- Does your wallet contain the private key to the address you have posted ? (You can check that by opening the electrum console and typing ismine("1GK9Sp47tNuntYVHDPg5X3a8iZmLBK3fmU"). If it returns true, it does)
I'm using Linux Mint. I didn't verify the signature of the file however I've received other transactions successfully. The wallet does contain the private key of the address. Answer the remaining questions above... Version of Electrum? Status of the circle at the bottom right? Version 3.0.2 The green circle appears sometimes. Other times it synchronizes indefinitely. |

I made a transaction yesterday and it is not appearing in my electrum wallet.
The id is:
5b3cf0f09572154349136ad6db10f84d97373ad31620c5081c882e9fc34aca2d
The receiving address is:
1GK9Sp47tNuntYVHDPg5X3a8iZmLBK3fmU
It was for a small amount, just to see if it would get through, which it hasn't. It has been deducted from the sending wallet.
I've tried restarting the electrum wallet and it makes no difference.
Any ideas?

lol. did you steal that logo from somewhre else?
I stole it from the sweet potato - one of my favorite foods. It has a heart shaped leaf. I grow them too... They are one of the healthiest foods you can eat. |

Current issues:
1)The wallet never seems to synch even after its downloaded the blockchain. This could be something to do with the time differential on ubuntu. Its largely cosmetic because in theory there are always transactions occurring so its always going to be out of sync. It doesn't affect the functionality. However will look into it.
2) The wallet crashes on Windows XP after the blockchain reaches a certain size. This seems to be something to do with Qt. Memory leakage? Codec? Qt crashes a lot with all the coins. It crashes just using the creator sometimes.
The virus warning on the zip is a false positive. Eset also flags all self extracting archives as potential threats automatically. Its bundled with Windows so maybe ms just doesn't like people using third party software....

It was announced a few days ago, skimmed through it and it seems like just another coin we have had almost every name variation coming out, soon we will run out of what to call these altcoins  The innovation is in the way in which transactions are confirmed. How to make it a 'vegan' coin without policing every transaction? How do you know someone isn't buying KFC?? Imagine you are entering a condo. The guard knows all the people who live there. If he doesn't know you he stops you. However if you enter accompanied by one of the existing tenants he lets you in and every time he sees you again he lets you in even if you are on your own. This is one way to create a vegan coin - or any other niche coin. Build up a blockchain of transactions that you are sure are for vegan purchases. Then once it has reached a certain size the blockchain is parsed and the transaction is only confirmed if the public address is contained in the blockchain. The existing users of the coin are in effect vouching that the transaction is valid. This would be done after the hash has been found, and would add an additional layer of security although increase the work needed to create the new block. |

The source will be available on github shortly. Its not exciting, just bitcoin really. The interesting part will come when the Proof-of-Intent is introduced, but this can only be done once sufficient transactions are generated. POI is superimposed on POW. A search is made not just for the hash but also prior occurrences of the public address in the blockchain. This validates the transaction.

Its only been launched in the last few days. Its a niche coin designed for ethical and much as financial reasons. Proof-of-intent replaces proof-of-work for confirming transactions.
Ninja launch, no site, no client, no documentation, no github repository, no ANN topic, a newbie promoting it... Are you kidding mate? Maybe you are not aware of that, but these "deficiencies" are all red flags around here. I'd say proof-of-intent-to-scam... Its targeted at the vegan community mainly. The aim is to build up the blockchain within the vegan community before releasing it to outsiders. The ninja launch not unintentional. Because of the limited scope and limited demand niche coins are not used to stay afloat for a long time. Perhaps you want to take a look at the NXT monetary system. That's something designed for making such coins on the top of the NXT blockchain.
I think its best to stick as closely as possible to the original bitcoin source code, which has been proven to work and only make those modifications that are needed. NXT is fairly buggy too and not well documented. |

Bitcoin is dying because the general public has just lost interest in it. It is not just the price that has collapsed it is the excitement in the idea of cryptocurrencies. There are a few graphs from google trends here: https://veggiecoin.wordpress.com/why-voin-is-a-better-investment-than-bitcoin. The future of cryptocurrencies (if they have a future) may lie in niche coins: cannabis coins, solar coins and so forth. The bitcoin protocol is not suited to a single monolithic coin. |

Just seems like another 'niche' coin to me. I think vegans would have no problem using bitcoin rather than their own specific coin. Vegans use regular money after all.
Vegans use regular money because they don't understand how the banking system works. Not many people do and the powers that be aren't in any hurry to explain it. The success of coin will depend on being able to show the horrific cruelty that they are financing with THEIR MONEY. The difficult is going to be making the videos without cracking up. There is some pretty gory material out there... |
