3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Set to Become the Next Global Reserve Currency on: January 30, 2020, 04:08:20 PM
The US dollar has been the global reserve currency for the last 60 years or so. However, Russia and China are both indicating that they want to move off the US dollar system, having voiced concerns over how expensive it is, and the fact that the US weaponizes their currency on a shockingly frequent basis (see Iraq, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Lebanon and around 25 other countries with US imposed sanctions and embargoes). However, if we’re being realistic, we need a global reserve currency of some kind. That’s where Bitcoin comes in. Bitcoin is set to become the next global reserve currency – here’s why.

Why Bitcoin?
Bitcoin might not be a perfect currency yet, given that it’s prone to volatility and has far less liquidity than other global currencies, but it’s definitely a good option. Unlike the US dollar, Bitcoin is immune to seizure and censorship. Whether you’re an individual or an entire country, the option to resist seizure and censorship is probably of much more importance than volatility, liquidity, or adoption. Bitcoin can’t be taken away from you, unlike the US dollar.

The US will continue to weaponize the dollar, and will face increasing resistance for it. As this happens, belief in Bitcoin’s functionality as a means of bypassing seizure and censorship will grow, and we’ll see the US dollar falter as a reserve currency.

Look at the attitude of Russia and China towards Bitcoin. Do you believe that these super countries will accept Bitcoin as a reserve currency? Me not

It was a surprise to me to see such a large percentage of women investing in crypto  Shocked
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen if quantum computer owners start to move the early mined coins? on: January 30, 2020, 04:05:06 PM
We don't know whether quantum computers will exist or not, but assume they will be built and some QC owners will move the early mined coins. What will happen?

Case 1
They (QC owners) could move the early mined coins, which are mined to P2PK addresses and haven't been moved since then.
They could let these coins there for a certain time to give potential owners the possibility to prove (signed message) that they are the owners and transfer these coins to them.
If there is no owner, the QC owners are the new owners.

Case 2
Some BTC owners will not accept case 1. They will create a hard / soft fork and burn these early mined coins.

In both cases we have to implement QC resistant addresses immediately.

Case 3
They (QC owners) will move all possible coins (also from active addresses).
In this case the Bitcoin price would collapse and it would end the Bitcoin project.

Case 1 gives the QC owners the possibility to improve our Bitcoin network and make it quantum resistant and reward them with these early mined coins. If there are still owners of early mined and not moved coins, they have the chance to move the coins and will get them back even after being moved, if they prove it (signed message) within a certain time period. Case 1 would lead to a smooth transition to a quantum resistant Bitcoin network and would be the strongest fork.

You're talking about some kind of cyberpunk. It seems to me no one will dare to destroy the Bitcoin project, just think about what consequences it will end.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pet shop want to become a bitcoin exchange? on: January 26, 2020, 04:19:29 PM
I hope you are going to accept dog(e) coin. Smiley

Doge Coins best suits the pet shop. Maybe OP can put a logo of Doge coin on the sign board of his shop.  Smiley

If this does not violate the rules of the Dogecoin community, then it sounds like a super idea for advertising a pet store!
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin moves like Gold? on: January 26, 2020, 04:17:04 PM
gold price is not like bitcoin, but i think it because asset. when something happen asset will take effect, it doesnt mean that trump speech will give effect on bitcoin price, maybe it just accidental
indeed gold and bitcoin have very clear differences and price movements should be very different if there are similarities it might not be intentional, but I feel the condition of the world economy is also a very strong influence.

You can take advantage of price movements to be able to make a profit.

Gold is used a lot of people compared to bitcoin but now the difference is only slightly not in terms of price but from its benefits, many believe that gold is very stable and in the long run gold can only enjoy profits.
But unlike bitcoin, it depends on the market going up and down so there are many who avoid investing in bitcoin, there is also a switch from gold to bitcoin.

If we consider Bitcoin and gold as a flexible asset, Bitcoin can bring more profits faster than gold. If we talk about maintaining value for the long term, I would prefer gold
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Held a bitcoin seminar today on: January 26, 2020, 04:14:49 PM
It hasn't been easy for me lately because I'm a student. However, I find time to make a way for bitcoin promotion. Today, after classes, tho the place wasn't excessive convenient, Me and my friend held a seminar in which we talked to about 10 or more people about bitcoin. We also elaborated to them about the disadvantages and advantages involved in crypto.
Also, a WhatsApp group was created so as To Help them with anything that seems confusing. Of course, they already have their wallets installed! ♥

Lol.... My head was aching before and after the seminar. However, we had to hold it!
At least with this example, others (including you) would do their best to promote bitcoin and the blockchain technology.

Actually I'm not in the image; privacy reasons

Also, I'll be posting how you can conduct Your Own seminar for those who have that interest. Let me get well first.🙂

It is pity my attempts to intrigue my friends by Bitcoin have failed. I'm glad that your environment consists of people who are interested in Bitcoin and its technology.
9  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OWNR wallet on: January 04, 2020, 01:12:23 PM
Recently Bitfinex announced its new opportunity for its customers to purchase crypto by the credit and debit cards via new partners of OWNR and Merkurio. However, I found an interesting fact that the media cover only one of the partners - Merkurio. No one news resource mentioned OWNR wallet in collaboration with Bitfinex. My question is, is this a disrespect to the new wallets from the media or what? I think the OWNR is worthy of being mentioned in the news because Bitfinex does not take bad projects as partners, isn't it?  Huh
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: January 04, 2020, 01:10:17 PM
Creating awareness in people about BITCOIN is better than forcing them to get in BITCOIN,If a person unaware abut new technology and dont know about the idea how he or she will invest.

Start with friends circle a word of mouth will bring more users.Conducting seminar,Campaign in university students also fruitful to increase the real number of users.

Definitely, everyone just needs to talk about it and do not pull everyone's hand to invest in the coin. Lectures at the university, conversation at the bar, discussion during the brunch, all of this is suits about sharing knowledge about Bitcoin and developing its popularity
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cannot be decentralized if the Internet is centralized on: January 04, 2020, 01:05:37 PM
I remembered the concept I learned about the subject networking we had before. Internet is live network, no one owns the internet. With that regard, you can have access to the internet if you want to, you just need to trust and pay ISP but they don't really own a portion of the internet. Some people have just funded the transatlantic cables beneath the seabed but if we are to ask the world who owns it, no one. So why could we say internet is centralized then? Because of ISP? No. Because we are the one who could decide what ISP would we want. If they restricts and observe our browsing activity, it is just that, we let them to do so.

I agree with you. Nobody forbids being anonymous on the Internet using a variety of tools. It's just that people allow to restrict them and observe their browsing activity, and then they shout that the Internet is centralized
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have a Dream... on: December 31, 2019, 01:06:41 PM
That's a massive wish for this forum, I think it would be a colorful presentation when our local system will accept Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency, your given picture looks very charming and gorgeous, In terms of the financial aspect, people will enjoy more freedom for spending money and it would be easier in comparison to fiat, not only that but also it's safe and sound monetary system for me, Hopefully, this type of situation will be seen very soon because people are trying to cope with this blockchain system day by day.

Yes, I support the opinion that the whole forum and a huge part of the community really want Bitcoin does it. The picture is really spectacular, I hope our future will be as colorful and free
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be a bullish sign as halving approaches? on: December 31, 2019, 01:01:45 PM
Time will tell how halving will affect Bitcoin. Unfortunately, this is the most unpredictable asset and one cannot say how the market will behave. Let's just wait for halving
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hong Kong Police Freeze $10M Fund for Protesters - Bitcoin Becomes Attractive on: December 26, 2019, 11:45:43 PM
The Hong Kong Police, working with China, has frozen a major fund that was intended for arrested and injured protestors. The case for financial freedom with Bitcoin has never been more clear.

Bitcoin’s popularity always seems to spike when people’s wallets are directly affected. Throughout 2019, we’ve seen multiple fears of bank runs and ATMs running out of cash during crises. In October, BeInCrypto reported that Chilean ATMs were reportedly locked during a state of emergency. That same month, Bitcoin trading volume ballooned as Hong Kong residents found themselves locked out of ATMs.

Source link here

Now that their funds were locked out, I think it's time for them to take Bitcoin seriously.

Storing them in banks is such a bad idea, especially if they are using it for protests. If they could have stored it in Bitcoin, the police and government cannot stop them as they do not own or control the blockchain technology.

Bitcoin took out the third party or intermediary in peer-to-peer transactions, and this is what Hongkong protesters should need if they want to keep their funds safe from being frozen.

This is Bitcoin's time now. We're not just focusing on the price itself, but how can it be used without the risk of having our funds frozen.

Bitcoin is an independent fund. Sometimes the government uses its power to deprive people of freedom and values. Bitcoin is protected from government exposure and in difficult times this asset could help people a lot.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time for YouTube to vanish ... on: December 26, 2019, 11:42:58 PM

THIS IS THE MOMENT FOR AMP SYNEREO HYPERSPACE  !!!

Yeah, a shitcoin that no one has ever heard about is going to take the biggest video hosting platform in the world out of business, sounds totally legit. No one is going to abandon youtube because of their action against crypto videos, outside of crypto community no one cares, and inside of crypto community almost all people would be unable to boycott youtube for long, because youtube has complete monopoly.

YouTube has no competitors. Unfortunately, we have to accept the rules of the media giant, even if it concerns the prohibition of content that is necessary for us. I still hope that the crypto videos were deleted by mistake because in the bad case this will greatly harm the community.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fight against Bitcoin is coming. Are we ready?! on: December 11, 2019, 08:01:33 PM
Recently Brett Sherman was nominated to chair of Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets. He will surely have the power to influence bills that can get introduced into Congress. He has been incredibly anti-bitcoin and will surely try to pass bills that will stifle the growth of the industry. Also recently BIS head has been advocating Central Banks begin to use digital currencies for themselves. This will surely play out as a way to out-compete crypto.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-12-05/bis-wants-central-banks-at-center-of-digital-cash-revolution

Discussion: How can they community rally together for what is to come? Are we ready for when governments restrict / sanction any capital flow into exchanges? How prepared are we for these things?

No bills can stop Bitcoin. Moreover, such possible bills about which you are talking are local, not global, I'm sure everyone will find a way to use crypto seamlessly if he wants
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sale my old bike and buy bitcoin, what do you think? on: December 08, 2019, 10:07:31 PM
It seems to me that during a bear market everyone can and should buy Bitcoin. I think the sale of an old bike will pay off over time
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have there been any money laundering schemes that used cryptocurrency? on: December 03, 2019, 02:25:59 PM
People might have been doing that in the early years but one thing I can say that with the government regulations especially with the KYC being implemented by most of the exchanges it would be extremely difficult for people to launder money and evade taxes with cryptocurrencies anymore

But there are exchanges without verification of KYC. I think it is possible to launder a certain amount of money on many exchanges
