Have you seen what goes on with the Crypto Youtube channels?
They getting blocked and deleted by YouTube in masses....

Youtube disappearing is impossible. Although there are many video viewing platforms that receive crypto, the dominant one has COSTENTOS. Users create videos and get paid with COS. But I am sure they will not be as popular as youtube.
YouTube is now owned by Google and they will find ways to advertise their platform. They seek to market and make their platform more known. YouTube has been around for a long time and is easy to engage with so there is no reason for YouTube to disappear.

Youtube is too big to fail because it's owned by Google and there's too much money around it? Well, we don't have to bring it down, we just need to create alternatives, maybe someday one will be better.

only few crypto users who are affected to this  purge though, some say its those crypto users who introduce their channel as crypto financial investment advisers that were affected. the number is probably less than 10K users, that wouldn't be enough for youtube to vanish. youtube is too big, everyone watches the videos there. but i can agree there is the need for decentralize video sharing site.

Oh my dear, YT has become too big, I missed the time when I can login with my random email and all the video contents were 240p, also spending my time watched all the old school Mickey Mouse shows, will it vanish? I don’t think so, but I know all the old content uploaded were all gone, and they never comeback, lol.

So are you saying that all users on YouTube are crypto lovers? If crypto channels are wipe off YouTube they aren't going to vanish, there are other things that are big on YouTube like gamers

You don't have to use Youtube for that, there is twitch and several others. Google can only hurt itself by going too draconian. Still, its their service, they can do with it whatever they want. If you give your content to them, you have to accept the consequences.

Not sure if p2p streaming will ever take off, many attempts have been made but they don't seem to catch on. People are too complacent to centralized services. They are even willing to fork money for them.

Oh and if your life depends on youtube, did it ever occurred to you that youtube might disappear tomorrow? Same with other centralized service. I remember warning people that Microsoft instant messenger would someday disappear, they didn't believe me, and now its long gone, all msn contacts lost, only a puny amount went into skype (which sucks even more).

I think that a decentralized platform has to emerge. Youtube is often censoring things in a wrong way (implementing rough algorithms and not having time to take a look at appellations mostly), and it seems that what they're doing now has a similar issue. As for storage, torrents somehow store a massive amount of movies exactly because people can participate and store some parts, so I guess it should not be a problem. And garbage exists on Youtube but just does not get watched much so stays invisible, so I don't think it's a big issue. What seems like a challenge to me is to exclude videos from terrorists, child pornography and stuff like that from a decentralized platform...

I'm baffled as to what are their motives. They aren't explaining why accounts are given strikes and the account owners are left clueless asking one another and comparing their content. It's not only crypto channels that are being targeted. If they knew what youtube wandts of them they'd change it.

I saw some content creators say their videos posted 6 months ago were deleted now so yt has changed something in the last few days but nobody knows what.

The only reason for youtube why they are deleting those videos just because it is harmful and dangerous content that unsatisfactory. Probably the reason is here.

On YouTube there are many topics not just crypto, crypto is still less popular on youtube, crypto channels may be only a few percent of all youtube users, so in my opinion it is very impossible crypto users are able to eliminate youtube.

Before these are all happening, there are a lot of censorship happening in the past that made other content creators leave YouTube but the thing is that, it is the biggest video platform and everyone knows what it is. These content creators can't do anything since they also want to earn money so they just follow the rules. There are a lot of platforms out there and you can't just say YouTube to dissapear, that would be so hard.

Not just cryptocurrency channels but other channels that are telling people to invest in certain business or cryptocurrency project and the another without the authenticity.
It's not easy to wipe out YouTube, though I wish there is a gallant competitor which can shake them up a little bit.
I don't know the content of some of the channels but if they truly scrutiny those channels and find harmful contents, then they have every right to.

The crypto channels aren't only the one that got taken down. There are many channels out there being purged, it seems that Youtube wanted to reveal all the channels' funding sources and taking down channel with potentially harmful purpose which being funded by some sort of scam. You can see how most of the channels that are funded by government or some kind of organization being mentioned just right below the video as a precaution the channels aren't running independently.

YouTube will not disappear. Just some content will be banned, I made this conclusion after a series of crypto content bans. It is very sad to see that

Youtube being the largest platform for broadcasting it is much preferred than any other sources that are available. This means for anything we are supposed to depend on youtube. If something gets importance as an alternative people will prefer the alternative when something isn't satisfactory with youtube. Being a global leader it is also hard to compete with them. Another thing without proper reason they won't take such initiative to block channels associated with cryptocurrencies and specific contents.

I agree with you. YouTube is a mastodon that will never die out. I don’t know what should happen for this platform to close or something would be created better than YouTube

YouTube has no competitors. Unfortunately, we have to accept the rules of the media giant, even if it concerns the prohibition of content that is necessary for us. I still hope that the crypto videos were deleted by mistake because in the bad case this will greatly harm the community.
