I don't think they could sell your version as Disney friendly. Doesn't matter how you win a war as long as you win it.

3  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-24] China Says All Crypto-Related Transactions Are Illegal on: December 26, 2021, 11:27:00 AM
i got a theory behind this. people invest millions in china into crypto most bad years china bans cyrpto so Chinese people sell in for fiat currency suddenly china's got lots of extra money to prop up there faked growth figures and attract millions from stupid inverters.

china is actually a failing country but news is controlled and so are government figures. its also THE most corrupt country and nothing like how communism is suppose to work
4  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [11-15-2021]WSJ - Bitcoin Creator Satoshi Nakamoto Could Be Unmasked at FL Trial on: December 01, 2021, 11:58:03 PM
Quote
The family of David Kleiman (via his estate) is suing Craig S Wright for half of the bitcoin that satoshi mined in bitcoin's early days
This just got a whole lot interesting, not that am taking Wrights side, but what happens if the court does pass a ruling in favor of David Kleiman family....will Craig honor the courts demand to share the loot which if converted in usd is quite a lot of benjamins!!

I hope  Craig S Wright will put this topic to rest after hurting his pocket, because the man just doesn't know when to stop when he has failed to prove his ill gotten identity.

WSJ should be ashamed for writing an article like this.  Attempting to get as many clicks as possible or not, they are giving Craig credibility which is a shame.

This is nothing more than a click bait scheme by WSj and they know it because running such a story can easily bring them some traffic, and possibly subcribers for their services.

Wright is currently trying to sue several bitcoin companies because he "lost" his keys. hes also not satoshi and i can tell you why very simply
hes NEVER publicly signed a signature from a know satoshi wallet that could simply be verified by anyone that wants to check.
i can fully buy and understand the fact hes lost the wallets most of us have been there at some point. but the big thing for me is satoshi has been around several times to say no this person isnt me. if DR wright is satoshi he could sign into his account on any platform and simply say see this is me. i believe that satoshi simply wants this to play out and see what happens or has passed away.

if the court believes wright is satoshi then hes going to be in and out of court for years getting sued (especially if he wins the court cases for his lost bitcoin) and if hes proven not to be satoshi hes still going to get sued for affecting companys credibility. its another reason i dont think hes satoshi, Satoshi was a smart person coverd his tracks careful who he spoke to Dr Wright is in a loose loose situation something i cant see satoshi doing.

7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Craig Wright taking (BSV), Bitcoin Core (BTC), To court on: May 18, 2021, 03:08:30 PM
Hes just another reason why bitcoin gets such a bad name. Scammers always trying to get more
8  Other / Politics & Society / Craig Wright taking (BSV), Bitcoin Core (BTC), To court on: May 13, 2021, 09:20:57 AM
So for those who don't know who this monumental  douche bag if he's the special person claiming to be satoshi Nakamoto. He's now trying to say that been as he lost his keys to his wallet that the company's should give him his money instead. (Article below enjoy and comment 😀

Several problems with this

No.1 you loose your keys your coins are gone if he really invented bitcoin he'd know and accept this.

No.2 if he really was Satoshi he'd either have signed a message from the original wallet when he was challenged on it years ago or simply log into his account on here

No.3 if he is Satoshi I'm leaving bitcoin forever XD I could never imagine satoshi being such a monumental prick

Id seriously think twice about turning up anywhere with that much cash. Id suggest doing it in a bank branch. Or divide it up into smaller chunks.

12  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Problem with Antminer chip fixture test - Hashboard S9 Repair on: May 07, 2021, 09:02:23 AM
I have been using a tester that I bought to find out which chips are faulty from the Hashboard S9. But it turns out that the controller was damaged. The controller is from a V9 machine, I have a replacement but when I put the SD card to do the test I get no results. I would like to know if I have to do something else, Flash it?

If someone also knows how to repair the controller it would be helpful

If someone can tell me if it is possible to repair a Hashboard without the need for that tester but using another method, I would also appreciate it

If someone has knowledge of Hashboard repair and is willing to offer a course, paid or free, I'm also interested. Since I have not managed to repair a Hashboard even following the manua

Been along time since I did any repairs but should still be similar to the the S7 if the device is booting and running then its unlikely its a controller. If its bad chips on the haphazard there usually easy to spot especially if there under there own heat sinks like the older miners as when you mine the chips usually stay cold or very hot so just work along the rows with a thermometer  or by touching the heat sink.

Controllers from bitmain  are a bit trickier last time I checked each one needs flash e.g a S7 needs to refresh to an S6 for it to work properly or detect the board.

How it helps ill have a poke around the net see if its still the same

14  Economy / Digital goods / WTS £10 Argos/Primark/Tesco eGift Cards. on: September 24, 2019, 11:56:03 PM
Pretty much what the title says selling
£10 Argos eGift Card
£10 Primark eGift Card
£10 Tesco eGift Card

Have quite a few of each, can be used online or in-store (limits apply usually 3 online and fair usage in-store all depends on cashier but we regularly do 10 vouchers no problem)
asking £7.50 each in either BTC,LTC or ETH (I'd probably accept most of the big names.

Happy to do escrow (your paying the fee) and as usual happy to sign a message to prove its me.

Any question please ask (UK only for obviouse reasons but I do think I can get $ ones to.
15  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: UK Guy - I'm wanting to buy old multi core, multi cpu servers for BTC on: September 13, 2019, 06:42:34 PM
Hi,

I'm wanting to get into cpu mining, and am looking for 1 old server to do some testing.
Xeon, Opteron, Threadripper, heck, even EYPC (if i'm lucky)

I'm currently running a 1800x (8c/16t 32GB ram) so needs to beat that...

Ideally looking for along the lines of 16c/32t over 2-4 cpus. (32cores would be even better)
At least 8GB per cpu, preferably 16+
Not bothered about hdd. (I'll be using a 60 SSD)

Must be working.
Must be able to run Win 7 and 10 and also Ubuntu 14.04.6 LTS and Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS

I know it looks like i'm asking a lot, but i'm pretty sure that there's loads of older gear sitting around do virtually nothing but heading towards a skip, so no silly prices.
Alternatively, if anyone out there has this kind of kit sat on a shelf not doing much, but doesnt really want to sell, i'd be very interested in hiring a server for while, just need to remote access, and have the above OS's on it.

I'm in the UK (Yorkshire), and can travel a reasonable distance to collect, but delivery preferable.

Thanks
J

got some old xeon 2CPUS (4cores 8 Thread per CPU ) HP ProLiant DL360's if your intrested RAM probably need a boost but its quite cheap on Ebay and ofcourse need 2.5" HDD either SAS or Sata

Fair point.... i wonder why that is then seems to be a bitty scammy to me... maybe theyll do it in time
at the very least they should let you withdrawn or deposit them...

Let us be honest with ourselves, most people just want more dollars or pounds out of it. By keeping it as just an extra menu item they save themselves a whole lot of ball ache and their customers too. I wonder where they're buying and selling the actual coins to back it.

I wouldn't call it scammy but it is a tad misleading and it would be better if they billed it for what it really was. Funnily enough if you use Revolut for buying real crypto elsewhere they often toss their cookies.

ohhhh really?Huh time to make someone throw his cookies around then  Grin i suppose its just as bad as some exhanges trying to charge a fortune to withdraw when the markets shoot up (yobit im looking at you)
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you using a Public DNS server? your coins are at risk ! on: September 13, 2019, 05:46:29 PM
i was carelessly using public dns because my isp using it. later dns hijacked occured.
My wallet got hacked by it. i lost about 700 usd of it.
now i am no longer using myetherwallet, time to use metamask or other more secure wallet.

sorry about your loss, i tried to warn as many people as i could by then on Ether Mining group on FB some people got away but most were to late to act! anyway

why not get a hardware wallet? any logical explanation behind this?

thanks

Phishing and Hijacking are not to be neglected! Using public DNS is dangerous if your IP is exposed, a plethora of misdeeds can occur.

If you take a look at what Butterfly is doing, you will find that much more enthralling than using a standard, centralized DNS.

Butterfly enables individuals to execute a single transaction and own their domain name forever, free of future payments, which are currently standard, as simple as that. Once a domain name is created and acquired, the initial registrar is its sole owner. This in itself is a major breakthrough in how domain name ownership works. Butterfly has also developed an inherent ecosystem with a native cryptocurrency token, which allows users to create, sponsor, and execute domain names and their creation.

lets clear a few things up shall we using a Public DNS isnt dangerous so stop with the crap already... is it more likely to be targeted? yes as more people use it but its also alot more likely to have the latest software and patches applied... next there are many Public Dns's out there hell even cloudflare brought one out 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 (your welcome) its not hard to do a few checks. if your really paranoid use the bloody ip addresses so you can get Middle man attacked (DNS hijacked)
VPNs can be a good option as most of the time they user there own DNSbut the easiest and best option is look at your address bar... see the green lock... its there for a reason it means that site is who its claiming to be. quick easy stuff will keep you safe against the 99% of scams out there and always ALWAYS try to use 2FA that way if you log in to a bad website youll still have a 2nd line of defense even if they grab your password they cant hijack the email (unless your one of those that use the same password for everythign in which case good luck.

think you need to have a look again as they now let you buy and swap bitcoin (and i think a few altcoins) iv used them a few months and prices are quite good for UK standards they have a full crypto side to it now

"Instantly exchange any of our 29 currencies directly into Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and XRP, and all without breaking a sweat."

Show me some crypto addresses then.

They let you buy an IOU. You can never take possession of the coins and you can't send your own to sell there. I'm sure it's all above board but in no way are you taking ownership of actual coins. Etoro is the same.

https://www.revolut.com/legal/cryptocurrency-terms/  there's no mention of anything other than them keeping hold of the actual coins.

Fair point.... i wonder why that is then seems to be a bitty scammy to me... maybe theyll do it in time

a new one i found is https://www.revolut.com which is suppose to replace XAPO (used Revolut a few times and seems good so far and can send money via bank transfer (can send refferal code so you get a free card is you ask)

You can't buy Bitcoin with Revolut and it's definitely no type of wallet either. You can only get price exposure to a few coins inside the app. There's no way of depositing or withdrawing actual crypto with it. That may suit for some. I'd rather have the real deal.

there isnt really an advantage to downloading a full node these days as they take up a not so small amount of space. id honestly stick to using lightweight or even online wallets... suprised no one has metions one of the oldest and most trusted online wallent https://www.blockchain.com/ (AKA blockchain.info) id just use them, remeber a good password for both your email address and wallet are esential and dont use the same for both. enable 2FA so any login needs an email conformation too... you pretty much sorte then and can have a neat little moble app if you want to take it with you.
