1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Thecoins.net scam? on: July 16, 2016, 02:28:36 AM
It is not a scam site, please check again. We had some technical difficulties over the last couple of weeks. Hoping for the best!

Thanks! It's slowly coming back up. I have it back up at www.thecoins.net and am propagating the DNS to thecoins.net slowly. Thanks for your patience.

Submitted a withdrawal yesterday, still waiting :/

Also, when is dice maintenance going to be finished? You should really bump up your interaction with users...

Withdrawal is coming through - not sure what is going on with the site access. If you guys are getting a CloudFlare error (like the message below this one); try clicking at the top right of the window where it says something like "try for a live version of the site". It should reload and work while I look into the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion on interactions; maybe a good blog or forum is in order. Any suggestions?

Cheers, -JT

some cons still exist in this site like there should be no minmum withdrawl and no waiting time to recieve payment...if deposits are instant then so should withdraw's Tongue

While I understand your thinking, I don't agree with it.

First of all, because a site takes the time to vet transactions it is not a "con". A con would be lying, fraud, switching of deliverables, etc...basically trickery of some sort. As for instant deposits vs withdrawals, while I would like to agree with you (of that being nice) - in the current state of affairs that cannot happen, there are many reasons for this. First of all, deposits can be instantaneous because we wait for confirmations (on our end) and allow you to play right away. I suppose the flip-side to this would be to make you wait for your deposit to show-up through a minimum number of confirmations before you can play. I don't think most people would like that. Also, based on previous cheaters and people taking advantage of the site, the withdrawals had to be done manually to verify history (we hope most of this can be automated shortly). We run a fair business and expect the clients to all be treated fairly, as well as treat us fairly. If we could all trust each other, then of course, everything could be instantaneous (but unfortunately that world doesn't exist).

You have to remember that when someone cheats, they're not just taking the casino/investor's money...they're also taking other players' money. Other players don't want to play somewhere where some people are cheating (it's not a good feeling). We operate the site as part of the community. I wouldn't want to be cheated out of money, and I wouldn't want that for anyone else either.

In terms of minimum withdrawals; there has to be a minimum, otherwise we can't run a faucet also. We could look into a different system for "play" money, but a lot of players seem to enjoy the boost that a faucet gives.

I hope this clears up some of the thinking. Thanks!

I'm trying to keep withdrawals under 24 hrs with verification. So far, this has been achieved. Once we have a better verification system setup, we should be able to automate most payments.

All current withdrawals have been processed since mid-August on a daily basis. I approved them all manually. And yes, you can say "here we go again"...but I guess that's growing pains.

I think people might take you more seriously if you can escrow a significant sum with a bitcointalk escrow? What do you think?

How do I escrow money on here?

On another note, I can verify site ownership by anyone registering an account on the site. I can verify your bets/faucet etc. If you make a new account and post it here, I will verify details that anyone outside of the admin or owner of that account would have.

Cheers -JT

I am asking again. HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU HAVE TO PAY OUT WINNERS, AND WHICH ADDRESSES?

I understand that maybe you don't trust me, but I'm not typically in the situation of being the bad guy. Also, I have investors and personal money invested to payout winners so I will not be giving out specifics. From what I've seen, it is plenty for multiple winning streaks. This is not my first rodeo. If you're interested in gambling more than a few satoshis and are worried, I'll put the equivalent in escrow for you before you deposit.

Cheers, -JT

tried to withdraw 0.83 btc, says its pending....

I will be personally processing your withdrawals shortly. Cheers, -JT

the website seems to be pretty interesting i think i will try it out though you surely need to escrow your money as now you can scam people easily
How do I escrow money on here?

The major escrows can be found on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0. The list is not perfect IMO, and you should find someone with a good trust rating and trust summary.

Thanks for both of the replies. I will be checking with a couple of the users listed there for escrow services.

I was curious so I checked. I made an account, won a small amount of BTC, tried to withdraw it. Sat pending for days. I emailed the contact email. No response.

Then my account was deleted. Under no circumstances should anyone play here. The site's sole purpose now is outright theft.

Sorry to hear this, when was this? Can you please PM me your username.

Thanks

Its weird, another new owner rep (just registered today). Are you the real owner of thecoinsdotnet?

Yes I am a new user here, I didn't have an account on here before and did a search for old threads. I am the new owner of the site (since August). There has been one change of owner previous to me. I will try to provide proof shortly, but in the meantime am here to help.

Check out https://thecoins.net/ - we do 10% on all games.

Cheers!
Are you serious there, after so many people reporting shady behaviours on that casino you are adverstising it as a reliable one?

Yes, I'm serious. I'm not sure why anyone has been reporting it as shady - but feel free to prove me wrong. Players get paid out daily - all games are provably fair. The site wouldn't still be up or around if it was shady. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
Why won't the still be up after being marked as shady, may ponzis do. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=935811.140 Have a look at your own topic and see how many people reported the site as a scam.
Secondly, why did you guys create another account just for this, AFAIK there was https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=415380 as your official account.

I understand why you might be skeptical. I created a new account because the old account is with the old owner of the site. I responded to recent posts in the other thread to try to straighten some things out.

Would love to know why after I emailed support about my pending, not sent, withdrawal of .38 BTC, my account on the site suddenly stopped working, and no replies to my emails.

Why the hell is every single gambling site a complete scam?

I'm sorry to hear this. I acquired the site in August and would be happy to help. Please PM me. I will do what I can to right any past "wrongs" by the site. Obviously I cannot account for issues that have taken place in the past, but will do my best to help people out. The site is not a scam, and I can tell you that I have personally paid out all winners for the last few weeks. As far as I can tell, there was no trickery going on (or there definitely isn't at this point).

Thanks
