1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An interesting story and experience of a gambler on: Today at 01:12:51 PM
That's why we must be careful when playing gambling...

He played with Crazy Time with $35 bets... that's far away from careful gambling. I wonder how big his bets were when he played with a $35k balance?

It's an interesting story about the guy who won a lot, spent some on his house and gadgets, and then returned most of it because he wanted to win even more. He had a nice balance, and I believe he thought he would rock the house with that balance, but that didn't happen. Something similar happened to me many times, with smaller amounts. I go x5 from my deposit and instead of continuing to play the same, or even better withdrawing most of it, I raise bets and just bust the entire balance. Well, that wish to win even more and more (greediness) can really make a mess in our minds. When we sober up from that feeling, it's already too late.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lunatic gamblers who says Airdrop rewards are free funds. on: May 27, 2024, 05:54:22 PM
Well, just apply the rules about "my money, my rules".

And regardless of where they've taken that, it's not a problem at all on how they're going to spend it. By the time they've earned that money, they can spend it freely on anything they want.

Reinvest and buy Bitcoin or even gamble with it all day long. There is no obligation for you even you're friends with them if they have already decided and have a plan on how they're going to spend it.

I like that "my money, my rules" term, it's like that. People should be free to do whatever they want with their money. I guess we can apply "easy come, easy go" here as well, when we earn money in some easy way we usually spend that money pretty fast. Claiming some airdrops can be pretty simple & easy.

There is always something smart that can be done with money, but the desire for easy money through gambling is very tempting, especially for those who love risk. I guess there are a lot of them here, a lot of active gamblers in one place... I am one of them, and I busted some money on gambling a lot of times that came from some work. There are no regrets, I guess I wanted that in that moment and that's it. Maybe we are all lunatic gamblers.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 26, 2024, 08:34:59 PM
I feel so bother and that is why I decided to ask this question.

We keep talking about gambling addiction and how bad it is to become addicted, does it mean that addicted gamblers lose money all the time? Do you means those guys doesn't win anything at all? Can they not be lucky to win jackpots?

On this board, we are always referring addiction as a terrible thing but does it mean that those addicted gamblers doesn't win money, are they only bounded to losses upon losses?

Before everything else, I think that most of us are addicted gamblers... but it's ok as long as we control it, as long as we know our limits it's ok. I don't believe that people lose all the time, gambling life is full of ups and downs for all of us constantly, so we all win and lose constantly, but if a bad period comes we will experience extreme losses.

It's not so bad when we lose money if we can afford to lose it. Problems come when we lose money we can't afford to lose, so if people play with "borrowed money" they can get into serious problems.

So it's up to us (individuals), if we can control our gambling desires we will not get into some serious issues, but if we can't then it's just a matter of time before some big problem will emerge.
4  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♣️ CoinPoker.com ♣️ Play Crypto Poker Online - 💰 $2,000 Welcome Bonus! on: May 26, 2024, 07:22:52 PM
I haven't checked mine yet, but there I could see that everything necessary appears for those who have old accounts, I must have some chp in that wallet. Wink

I couldn't find my old login, so I created a new account. It's still an old coin poker interface and I don't see anything new here, it's still the same and working fine for me. I played some freerolls and I was surprised with the gameplay to be honest, it's pretty slow and people play like it's a paid tournament... I haven't seen anyone force all-ins through the game just like that, the game is careful and players seem to be playing the freerolls differently these days.

Anyway, it's good to see CoinPoker here again, and I hope we will see some nice Bitcointalk promotions in the future.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Work From Home or The "Laptop Class" is Immoral or Not? on: May 25, 2024, 09:35:21 PM
Musk is using AL to replace human effort in work place and he can't feel it is a moral issue when someone works on his laptop from home so long the person is productive and delivers as according to his assignment schedule. If he is bringing down human labour and using robots, then he should also consider the moral issues there when he has succeeded to take food out of people and their families. Also by doing such lay offs, it means he has also contributed to the numbers of people who would be at home and try to find a job or work from home for themselves.

You are right, it's hypocritical of Elon to say that working from home is immoral while he's building AI & robots. Billionaires seem to go crazy at some point, probably a lot of money goes to their heads and they get some weird ideas.

There's nothing wrong or immoral in working from home on a laptop, if the work is such that it can be done that way, why not? I think it's silly to talk about whether someone will be more productive in the workplace or while working from home, we are all different... I believe that people who feel comfortable and know how to organize their time can be just as (if not more ) productive while working from home. Again, it depends on the person, we are not all the same. Elon talks a lot and says a lot of smart things, but sometimes (like now) he gets a little carried away.

6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the limits and common sense of bet? on: May 25, 2024, 07:44:46 PM
What are the limits of a bet, can a bettor bet something that he is unable to pay? i.g: betting your own life or 10 years' salary? And also without gaining anything in return, since he only bet against and didn't bet anything if that bettor won...

Many people like to place bets they can't cover. I guess they are somehow convinced of their win, for all sorts of reasons, but whatever that reason may be it's wrong to gamble with money you can't afford to lose. Many people, including myself, have experience with some crazy bets, with amounts that are big for us, but that's something we can do when we are young and alone... It's the period of life when we can allow ourselves to be crazy and explore things. But as we get older our limits for gambling and doing crazy things are getting lower, I couldn't imagine myself doing something like that. The risk is huge, I have family and I wouldn't dare to risk their future because of anything, and what kind of example I would be for my kids?

7  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Stake F1 Team on: May 25, 2024, 01:16:01 PM

Probably they will have these in the upcoming days but for now these freerolls are meant as introduction onto the community.

Anyway, I've tried their poker but its just abit weird especially after you fold. Im not sure if this is because I have a crappy monitor but these folded cards are barely able to be seen
...

and also I've always assumed that we will always take the middle seat on poker software but it seems this is not the case on stake poker. Well no complaint on this but its just new for me, I cant find a button to adjust my seat to middle as well

...

ended the tournament on 900th something lol  Tongue

$1000 freeroll tournaments every 6 hours is an incredible promotion, this is how the greats get into action. Surely they will change it at some point, except for freeroll they didn't add anything else, but we can expect some crazy GTD poker tournaments.

When we fold it's hard to see cards, but it's ok on the bigger screen. When you switch your seat just right-click on the seat you wish and press "sit here".

I played my first free roll this morning and was +300 place among +1800 players. I missed this one at 3 pm by minutes, but I will probably play tonight at 9pm. See you at the tables and good luck.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 25, 2024, 10:34:52 AM
...
Do you think it's a good idea to claim your winnings a day after hitting the jackpot or wait a few weeks?

How about you? When do you think is the right time to claim your winnings?

I never thought about how long it would take me to claim my lottery prize, I guess it depends on how much the prize really is... Maybe it would be good to organize everything properly before accepting the prize, a new bank account or maybe more accounts, some in foreign currencies. When you think about it, it might be wise to invest most of the money right away in some things that will generate additional profit, while also protecting against overspending. And if we organize that before receiving the prize it will minimize the chance of becoming greedy with so much money.

It's one thing to talk about it, but getting a huge amount of money from once affects the human psyche a lot. That's why this waiting period even sounds reasonable, it's always better to be patient and slowly get into some new things.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 25, 2024, 07:04:42 AM
The problem is that many people have too high expectations when it comes to gambling, and while chasing those expectations, they slowly fall into a hole that is difficult to get out of. Education is important, but most of us learn things the hard way...
We can’t blame them since most of the casino promise the potential to unlock massive wealth when you hit the jackpot right?
...

Well, we can't blame anyone... Everyone is free to believe what they want and do as they see fit, but casinos are not the ones who are giving away massive wealth just like that. You said it yourself, casinos promise the potential to get rich quickly... but that potential comes with conditions and huge risks. I guess it's exactly what we learn the hard way, we can't trust in gambling so much to risk everything we have, or even worse to borrow money to pursue a dream of getting rich by gambling.

Not only high expectation is the main concern but rather people using gambling as short cut to success by aiming for hutting the jackpot using the money that they got even though they are already over spending for a mere chance to hit it.

Lottery is the best example here. People keeps placing bet on lottery even though the chance of winning is enough for them to completely don’t win for the rest of their life due to it’s very low chance.

We all learn at some point what gambling is, but that learning comes at a cost. But anyway, I don't think we can say that gambling is bad for society, it can be bad like many other things around if people get into it with high expectations and without proper knowledge.

10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 24, 2024, 07:56:38 PM
Too much of anything is bad in some way, so "Bad to society" can be pretty much everything. Gambling is not "bad", but when people push too much and force their gambling habits they will cause problems, for themselves and their families.

The problem is that many people have too high expectations when it comes to gambling, and while chasing those expectations, they slowly fall into a hole that is difficult to get out of. Education is important, but most of us learn things the hard way...

Received 25 free spins and was lucky for Skel airdropping me free $150.

Received the same 25 Free Spins, it is on Sugar Rush 1000 and it worth $1 per spin but unfortunately I did not win big from this free spins.
The free spins gave me $15 win only, played with it but lost it all quickly LOL.

I also received the mail with some free spins, but unfortunately Pragmatic is off-limits for me: "Sorry, the game is not available for your jurisdiction. , all over the screen. Something like this has happened to me many times, I get free spins for some Pragmatic slot and can't play them. Only one or two casinos offer another option, usually some BGaming slot.

Well, definitely a nice win from free spins Malcovi2, it doesn't happen often, but when it does it's a pure pleasure when we manage to take some profits from free spins.

Welcome back to the forum. I played on CoinPoker in the early days, that was a long time ago, like decades ago. I think I have the username and password written down somewhere, but I need to check that. Anyway, I will try to log in back and give it a try... Since I didn't play in a long time I hope I will see some improvements.

Maybe finally the right place to continue the Bitcointalk private poker series. Smiley

Biggest Sports Betting Scandals - https://www.gosubetting.com/blog/betting-guides/biggest-sports-betting-scandals/

We can find many more articles about cooperation between gamblers and players. One thing is for sure, the big names reach the newspapers and usually from the strong world leagues, but there are many more in the lower leagues, which are not followed by everyone and which slip under the radar.

So it's not a question of whether they can cooperate or not. The question is how much it really happens in all sporting events, can we even make any assumptions about it? For example, does this happen in 10-20% of all games worldwide? Maybe more or less?

15  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 23, 2024, 07:20:58 PM

It's not money addiction, it's the need for money. You can't turn on your lights and gas if you have no money. We are slaves to work constantly because of the need to have money to live.

There are places where you don't need money but it would be in the most remote areas where the community lives in a slow lane.

Need for money, you said that right. We know that we can't do anything good without money so we work to get it, but it's never enough.

Well, there are places where we don't need money, but in those places, we need to have "real skills" if we want to survive. You don't go to live in nature without knowing many different things, from hunting to working with different tools. I watch some serials about those things on TV, except knowing many things and trades I think those people need to be mentally prepared to endure in the wilderness.

Anyone here knows about the $MWIN points? I got 5000 $MWIN points because I have one referral but I have no idea about this points.
Whether it is an internal token that will be able to be used to play or it will be something convertible to other coins later?

AFAIK. Not much has been revealed aside from the fact that it'll be used as an ecosystem token on metawin + the planned L3 casino (if that pushes through) so it's safe to assume we'll be able to use it to play and trade it on exchanges. The points will be used for the $MWIN airdrop.

I have 36k, and I asked myself the same thing last night... I understood it in the same way as Potato, depending on the amount of these points we will get some MWIN tokens with airdrop, one day.

I missed Rocky promotion, and it looks like the story is heating up, so is it too late to get in? Maybe Rocky is the next big thing in the meme coins world.

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Foolhardy bets. on: May 23, 2024, 05:37:53 PM
Internet is full of reassuring stories on big gambling wins like ten/hundred -thousand-dollar, or even more, while in most cases the gamblers are losing because they are either not the experts in on gambling they try or have not relevant skills and make foolhardy bets...

You have to look at the bigger picture... a lottery winner is not an expert in gambling, he probably played the lottery every week for many years, and x amount of tickets are involved. So once he won it's not like he was an expert, he just pursued his goals. I guess we can say the same about people who chase crazy big odds in sports betting (I know a few of them), so parlays with 5+ games (sometimes even more) with odds over x100 (and x1k) rarely win, but people who chase it win from time to time. And do we need to mention slots? After losing so many spins (probably losing entire bankrolls as well) people hit something nice and big, at least some people. So people share their big wins, but you need to ask yourself how they got there... it sometimes happens that someone who bets for the first time wins a lot of money, but this rarely happens.

I'm sure everyone here involved into gambling has made such reckless bet  at least once in life.

Did such bet/s change  your gambling styles?

Have you become to be more eager in gambling or , on the contrary it has put a chill on you?

I made a lot of reckless bets in my life... well it changes my gambling style for a while, that's certain, but sooner or later I come back to my gambling styles. And yes, thise bet make me a bit uncomfortable, but I chill it out pretty fast. There's no point in regreting about the spoiled milk.

That may be the only truly imaginative thing about this scam. Poor presentation and a pretty common scam, but at least he came up with the idea about the "Bitcoin Entropy Betting System":

I hate that you say that, because it's like your waiting for someone to steal his idea... Lol.

Likewise, be more open minded, don't just label things a scam, I think a user with an attitude is more prone to be legit, rather than a user, trying to swindle you over by saying whatever you want to hear.

If it is a scam someone will come back to the forum and let you know. Give things a chance to prosper, you never know how it could help you.

What do you think?

As I wrote, I think that even when it starts working, no one will dare to try it. I am open-minded, but there were too many similar attempts in the past, so this is not the first time we have seen someone just appear with some "like" new idea and similar presentation. None of that came to life, so I doubt this will work either.

I agree that the OP should have an attitude, but instead of insulting someone's intelligence, he should focus on his work. This topic of his and the way he talks don't convince me that anything good will come out of this. I leave some chances for the possibility that I may be wrong, but I guess we will see about that. If anyone shows up and decides to give it a try...
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Gambling vs Sport Betting, Lets Discuss on: May 22, 2024, 05:10:20 PM
Casino Gambling vs Sport Betting, Lets Discuss

Most of us like to combine casino games with betting on sports. I guess we can say they are two different things in so many ways. Casino games are always available, table games of all sorts, slots, original games, all of them are available 24/7. The gameplay depends on you, you can play it faster and more aggressively for extra excitement, or you can take it slow. I think most of us mix those two from time to time, from moment to moment. You need to have basic knowledge and you are ready to go and play any casino game, if you get lucky enough you can win nice amounts. Sadly without luck, we will just bust our bankroll, or some part of it.

Sport betting on the other side provides a different kind of excitement. We need to wait game to finish, so the waiting period is a lot longer, and there are not always good games. But with some nice knowledge about the sport you plan to bet on you can have more chances to win, but there are no guarantees in gambling.

This has scam written all over it and anyone with a decent IQ can understand that much. Bad presentation, double your money ad, typos all over the place etc are just a couple of reasons as to why I wouldn't recommend this site.

Op keeps going on about IQ when he himself is trying to sell something that reeks of low IQ. Do your research people!

I completely agree with you, this is most likely a scam. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck...

I think Entropy is about the random selection of numbers that generates passphrase through blockchain. However, I have not heard of this kind of game before and it so much with "if" which is a subordinating conjunction in part of speech and meant to introduce conditional sentence and chances of occurrence. Well that well define gambling but I have not witnessed this kind betting.
Not just you, but I am also going to say that most of us or users on this forum never must have heard of such a game, and if you ask me, i did say that it's a very interesting game judging from the concept op provided, but unfortunately, the game is being introduced by the wrong personality, and I bet no one on this forum is good to play this game except it is introduced by the right person, and who is the right person - read my reply to one of op's comment below.

That may be the only truly imaginative thing about this scam. Poor presentation and a pretty common scam, but at least he came up with the idea about the "Bitcoin Entropy Betting System":
