I had cold stored BTC in electrum wallets for several months. There have been many forks since then. Some yielded alt. coins of value others not.
I want to move my crypto to trezor, ledger, and coinomi wallets by importing the seed.
From my understanding, these wallets might not support ALL of these alt. coins that forked. I would like to still have the freedom to claim some of the less popular alt. coins just in case in the future they become of value, so I have a few questions....
1) Would either trezor, ledger, or coinomi have access to the seed phrases that I used to open their wallets with? Basically I'm asking is does the company "see" these phrases and private keys---could they take the coins their wallets don't support and keep them for themselves? (I think the answer is NO. The wallet companies do not see any of your seed or private keys. But just to double-check I ask here)
-After importing seed into one of these wallets, say Trezor, and then I realize some forked alt. coins aren't accepted, can I then import that same seed into another wallet that does import the alt coins? What would happen? The BTC and BTG would stay in Trezor but the coins that Trezor doesn't support would show up in the other wallet? or would all the coins move to the other wallet?

There are a few forks coming up. Bitcoin God fork at block 501225 and Segwit 2x is at Block 501451.
What's the latest I can keep my funds in the exchanges before sending to hard storage?
In particular, Bitstamp Coinbase (I hate) Kraken
Do any of these have a delay window before sending?

I don't fully understand how two factor authentication works.
If I choose 2FA using google authentication, then does that mean tit will send me a passcode on my google authentication app on my phone (which I haven't downloaded yet).
Does it tie to the google account associated with my gmail address on file with Kraken automatically?
Keep in mind that I log in with my desktop.

Just looking for price alerts for BTC and BCH sent every hour or maybe every few hours.
Any free tools for this? email or sms is fine
|
|
|
If not, what are some exchanges that do?

How can I set this up? I want to be able to know if the price goes above .13 via phone notification sound versus BTC while I'm sleeping rather than getting up every 3 hours and checking.

If you haven't noticed BCH (bcash) has gone up a ton today.
Why?
Now I'm thinking I should rebuy it?
but also I'm thinking this might be the last spike and then it's gonna go down once kraken clients get their 20 confirmations in and sell it?

I was able to send mine.
It took trial/error trouble shooting.
I sometimes had to open multiple new wallets and try different things until I got it.
For example, it would often say "incorrect password." I tried using my original password when opening my BTC account, and that might have worked but then other times the newly entered password worked. I just had to mess around before I finally got all of them to work.

At least once an hour I look at:
-Reddit Bitcoin forum -Bitcointalk forum -Twitter pages of exchanges (Kraken, etc.)
....for updates about the deposit status of exchanges.
...tedious
Is there one source I can go to for all this info.?

Bittrex valuation is so much higher than other exchanges, especially compared to ViaBtc which is about .133 now vs Bittrex's ~.18.
I hesitated in sending to Bitrexx this morning since they require 20 confirmations (how long do you think this would take?) out of concern that by the time my BCC gets in their system the trade price would just be too low. We'll see..

The larger one being Bittrex? The fork did occur but many miners abandoned BCash coin right after it split from the main chain. The exit of the miners results to extremely delayed block creation due to the pre-calcuated difficulty and as a result no transactions with BCash can go through. Overall it fails as a currency, but does decently well on exchanges in spite of the inability to deposit.
But I see some exchange that can already do trade Bch, they have a value of about 25% of the current bitcoin price. Indeed I'm not sure this can last long, but this is our chance to take advantage. For forking I think this works because it has created bch, this impact of the split that occurs in bitcoin. The larger one just released the wallets on their exchange. But yeah. ALmost most of the miners have abandoned it and it is taking a very long time to relay the transactions now. Some are saying they have waited over 18 hours now for their sending amounts to be received. This is a complete and utter joke now. While it was said to have faster times than bitcoin.\ And right out the door they have a 10x worst sending of their transactions. Instant FAIL!

I a little BCH (just a test run) from electron cash to viabtc about 2 hrs ago. Still don't see anything?
I did highest fee too.
Does it depend on the exchange or just the system?
I'm thinking about dumping it all into ViaBtc and hoping by morning it will show up. But also concerned that what if it doesn't show up and kraken opens and does it faster and then I wish had just held them until morning...

Lol I wont register on ViaBTC to sell my coins. waiting for Bittrex to enable the deposits... so slow
things are too slow. it's 2017
Why Not? Is there something wrong/questionable about them?

Well I just signed up for ViaBTC, completed the first ID verification. Waiting for the 2nd.
But it gave me a BCC address to deposit. Gonna try in a sec.

I tried Kraken and BitFinex. But I couldn't deposit BCH.
Anywhere else?
Is Viabtc safe?

I changed my Electrum password twice within 5 minutes, and now I keep getting "incorrect password" when trying to send BTC to my new wallet.
If I restore electrum from seed will this affect my BCC balance...as I plan to restore it again later from seed in electron cash.
|
|
|
I changed my password in electrum while transferring to new wallet. And it stopped working!
I want to restore my wallet with my seed. Will this affect the BCC balance?
--------------
I don't know why it's not working. So puzzled. I could have copied some other text above or below. But I honestly doubt it since I copied/pasted it multiple times before and after on a file in order to verify everything was sound.
BTW, I'm still logged in but I can't send without the password. So I figure restoring from seed is the only way?
Also I changed my password twice within 5 minutes...would that set off any locks?

If I have 5 BTC in my electrum Wallet, how can I test with just a little bit?
For example, in my electrum Wallet I have: address 1: .002 BTC address 2: 2 BTC address 3 3 BTC
Total BTC: 5.002
How can I just test with the .002 BTC ?
