Hi!
why were the Auspost Load& Go suspended?
very bad ;(
I'm wondering the same thing. Jeremy said the money got sent back, but when I called auspost up (and paid $4 for the pleasure of talking to them!) they said there is no problem with my card. I then sent funds to it myself to test, and it worked. What's going on Jeremy?

In all honestty though, I actually feel VIOLATED.
It's as if Matthew reached into my pocket and stole the Bitcoins right out from under me. This couldn't have come at a worse time, as I already spent the Bitcoins that I had planned to win, so in essence, he's not only a Scammer, but also a thief. Matthew stole my bitcoins.
You should slap yourself for spending money you didn't have. What did you spend the coins on?

So what did Matthew and Pirate teach everyone with this very expensive lesson?
|
|
|
[sarcasm]Well, no-one saw that coming.[/sarcasm]
So, only a matter of time now before Matthew loses his bet? Or does he pay out now given pirate's announcement?

So you fucking idiots are going after some dude's family because you're too dumb and greedy to not invest in a scam? Muh Gosh. You know all of you dumb fucks will invest in the next one as well.
Dont fuck with peoples money. You dumb fucks gave a person who was running an obvious scam money. You lost. Give up. Don't fuck with some dude's family. Idiot. Why not? He is fucking with theirs! Holy fuck, you're stupid. What part of investing in an obvious Ponzi made you think you would ever see your money again? Dude took it. You lost. Luckily most of you idiots are as incompetent at everything else in life as you are about "investing," so I think these people should be safe other than dealing with creepy mouth-breathers calling them at all hours of the night ranting about some internet money. Edit: Thank you moderators for taking that shit down. Basically right. Seeing a lot of posturing about wanting to hurt this guy, but he ran a pretty good scam because I'm not even sure he ever lied to his so-called victims. Past performance is not a guarantee of future returns! You decided to gamble on a clear scam and lost; I don't have much sympathy for that, and I have absolutely none for harassing innocents. And as for innocents, I gotta say that Pirate's best promoters on this board are not innocent by any stretch of the imagination. Most of you, I think, knew damn well what you were doing: trying to sign up enough suckers so you could get a big payday before the music stops. If your timing/gamble was bad, you have no one to blame but yourself. I can't help but notice that supposed "victims" never raised questions about the legitimacy of the scheme until the payments stop coming in. Despite all the red flags. In other words, they didn't give rat's ass if their payouts were coming from scamming others, child labor, extortion. I understand "victims" feel bitter and angry, but I really cannot feel sympathy, no matter how much I try. I can only hope they learned a lesson. Not about trust, investments, ponzis, but about themselves. What red flags were there that the payouts were coming from scamming others, child labour or extortion? Many people accused pirate of nefarious activities time and time again, and each were shot down very quickly.

What's creepy about getting scammed and wanting retribution?
Retribution is not going after someone's family who probably has no idea what the hell their idiot brother or son did. Exactly what pirate should think about before deciding on his course of action. Or if his plan was perfect and left no bread crumbs, he has nothing to worry about.

Im sure they will when/if the official default happens A default will be construed to have occurred, if at any time prior to October 1 2013, 00.01 UTC, BTCST will be late by at least 14 calendar days, in disbursing either any regularly-scheduled interest payment, or any withdrawal request, by a valid account holder of BTCST. Lurk moar. Seems that would be the sensible course of action over creepily internet stalking dude's relatives. What's creepy about getting scammed and wanting retribution? I don't scam people because I like my family and wouldn't want them dragged in to anything crazy. Perhaps pirate should have thought about that. Though I say again, maybe he's a genius and has covered his tracks brilliantly and is in Jamaica. Good for him if that's the case. Otherwise, the internet will turn him in to a lesson for future scammers to improve their execution.

I have no problem with people who run a ponzi getting what they deserve http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704743404575128031143424928.htmlSure people should have known better, but the operator should expect retribution. If he's covered his tracks sufficiently, good on him for executing a well run scam. If he hasn't, he deserves everything that's coming. This is the wild west of investing, there are no police and no regulatory bodies protecting anyone - you do what you have to do to protect your money. Not fair? Don't run a scam. Upset about investing in a scam? Learn from it, or do something about it. I have no problem with what pirate did, or what people want to do to him. This is bitcoin.

Pressure is mounting it would appear
<@pirateat40> I'd just like to say, I never expected all this madness when I shutdown BS&T. It's been a lot more work than I could have even thought and I simply messed up. In hindsight, I shouldn't have stopped things so suddenly. Although it was nice to finally get some sleep, things have been spiraling out of control this week and pushing my personal deadlines.
<@pirateat40> At this point and in an attempt to stop the bleeding (interest) I'm going to be forced to payout everyone at once, which I'm sure will piss off enough people to counter the lack of payouts but I don't see any other way of handling this.
<@pirateat40> My concern is not "winning" the bet as much as it is "donating" the winnings. With the events of this week causing delays, 5K worth of coins is a piece of sand compared to the amount of money I'm losing every hour.
<@pirateat40> I'm doing everything in my power within the contracts of the "Real World" to get things moving as fast as possible. If, I end up losing the bets and spending everything I worked for to make things right I will. I will not be giving any additional times or dates until I know exactly when things will happen.
<@pirateat40> I know you guys want updates and communication, but I'm somewhat muted by the personal attacks and legalities of whats going on. There is a lot more to this story than just "Send me back my coins." If I had all the coins just sitting around I would've has this wrapped up a long time ago.

so is it official yet? has anyone heard a peep from pirate since friday?
He's been in and out of IRC changing names between pirateat40 and steamship. It's bizarre really. When he's "steamship" he's been offering to buy pirate debt at reduced rates. No idea if he's serious.

I empathise with your situation, however do you think by yelling empty threats at pirate you've increased your chances of getting paid? I know it must be frustrating but surely patience and understanding is a more productive strategy until pirate gives more information. There are many other people in a similar situation to you.
I hope you get your coins.

What would be the easiest or cheapest way to buy some bitcoins. I have only credit cards and paypal in $
Establish a rapport with a seller by buying coins for bank transfer. Once you've gained the sellers trust he may allow you purchase via paypal. You need to have spent 2k with me before i'll even consider allowing paypal.

Tell us the story about how you found out about bitcoins and what got you interested in it.
Everyone in my IT department at work was talking about it last year, so I got on board as things went on the surge to 30. The rest is history.

nah was a few years ago.
Im no lawyer or anything but why would it be interesting ?
I suppose because i've never seen paypal going to court over that amount of money. I'm curious as to what their process would be, and how they would react if challenged to take me to court, i think I will test this out, can't cost me anything if I get a friend to do a chargeback.
