1  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Single Replacement GPU fan for 7950 XFX AMD GPU on: April 15, 2015, 06:06:17 PM
Hello there!, My 7950's fan bearing has been making all kinds of noises, that generally sound like and indicate that the fan bearing is going to go soon, So i'd like to buy a new one before my GPU becomes crippled and fanless.

The replacement fan needs to fit inside this GPUhttp://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150601&cm_re=xfx_7950-_-14-150-601-_-Product
It needs to have a tachometer (not sure if this is in the fan itself, I think it is) and a reading of atleast 4000rpm, or provide equal or greater cfm airflow than that of a stock XFX fan at 4000rpm.

Paying via btc ofcourse, and i'll cover the cost of shipping (should it be cheap-ish)

Thankyou for your consideration!

Thanks for the response.
I tried running my sgminer with the setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 command, and noticed no difference, GPU still uses ~1.5gb of memory out of avalible 3gb
Should it have made a difference?

Please do not allow animated avatars in the future, I find them to be a big "LOOK AT ME" thing

Could someone explain to me what these:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
commands do? I don't use them and hit 5.5mh/s on a 7950 core1050 mem1375

So i've got my 6870's pulling 1mh each running at 950core 1000mem with worksize 256 --thread-concurrency 8192, Shouldn't they be going a bit faster? Darkcoin kernel

No, its the best you will get. Those old GPUs arent optimized correctly for X11 mining.

I'll assume that it's still better than mining scrypt coins though right?

I'd just like to say, that Wolf0 has been a Major help to me

He got my 7950 from 1.8mh/s upto 5mh/s with his builds!(x11, darkcoin-mod) More than DOUBLE the efficiency! Thankyou!

Where the hell can I find a README file for the SGminer itself?! for example CG and BFG miner tell me how to do everything i need to know, I can't find Shit All for info about SGminer, it seems to just assume that I know all the arguments and commands
I'm having some issues setting up x11 gpu mining with two 6870's on my other miner computer

SGminer loads up, tells me it's version, then rams a CPU core to max, throws my ram usage to 1gb, and stops, never to do anything more.
What the fuck?

Whats wrong here?
For my main machine, it was very simple, grabbed the miner, made a very simple .bat file and ran it, bam, done. (single 7950)

Also, I am unable to copy/replace my .bin with the wolf0 one, where the heck do I set these?:
"keccak-unroll" : "0", "hamsi-expand-big" : "4".

I would assume in a config file, but I'm one of those people that runs a .bat file, when I try to create a config file for sgminer, the program closes itself so fast that you can't really read the error
Something about being unable to build/make/create a config file

How it's possible these wrong stats ?
I mined one day at coinking  with 1 THs ( Antminer S5) and I won nearly anything.....

Edit : When I mine on NiceHash, I have the good payout (about 0.012 btc/day)

seems they are back online with bruce on the ball again ...

hope it gets back to the way it was ( and better ) ...

moved some of the farm back to coinking ...

welcome back guys Smiley ...

#crysx
How are the stats for this page gathered?
How is it that coinking is "so" much higher than the others at payouts?
When I mine there I get horrible amounts of disconnects and terrible efficiency!

What the hell is going on, sometimes coinking simply WONT give some of my workers any work, literally just WON'T
Stratum connection to pool 1 interrupted
Stratum from pool 1 requested work update
Stratum connection to pool 1 interrupted
Stratum from pool 1 requested work update x999
Seriously, what the fuck, half my miners won't even fallback to a different pool because they are still techincally connecting to coinking

Hmmm, all of my miners are failing to connect to the pool... Site is working fine, but I simply can't connect to any of the servers...

Site is still down, but I'm apparently mining
14  Economy / Services / Re: Need Techsupport, Related to Youtube (Bounty) on: January 19, 2015, 07:26:47 PM
The only useful advice I can give you: Stop using Internet Explorer Grin. The timestamp links work fine using Chrome or Firefox.
No, they do not, not for me atleast, I tried other browsers before posting this just to be sure
Oh this is just F'ing bullshit, now they both work in FF where before only one did

EDIT#2 WTF!, Now they both work in IE!, WHA DA FACK
15  Economy / Services / Need Techsupport, Related to Youtube (Bounty) on: January 19, 2015, 07:03:45 PM
So this is whats happening, when someone (myself) makes a youtube link with a specified start time
"Copy link at current time" thing, only some of them (halfish) work, regardless of browser

I don't know what the difference is between the ones that work and the ones that don't, but the problem is that they don't work most of the time, I'll click on the timestamped link, and IE will start loading the timestamped link, but then changes it to the basic video link and takes me to it (FF just takes me to the video without showing the link being shortend)

WHY?
If you post the successful answer to why this is happening and how to resolve it (Aka, a "reset to default settings to make it work" does not count)
Then you win the small bounty of .005btc

I'm looking for an answer along the lines of "in the IE advanced settings, you've got X ticked which is messing it up, untick that and it works now"
If it's the Do Not Track factor that is causing this to fail, then there is no bounty to claim, as I am not turning off Do Not Track

The weirdest part about this, is that some work, and some don't. Do some videos disallow timestamp links?
Heres one that works when I click on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0kk4X72H4w#t=29m08s
And one that doesn't: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjG1YrivY6o#t=395

WHY and how do I resolve it? If you can answer both of these, without the answer being the Do Not Track, then you win the .005btc bounty
If you post the correct answer of why this is happening without a resolution, such as "Youtube video makers can disable timestamp hyperlinks" then you earn half the bounty.

The bounty is so small because I'm not a wealthy person and I see it as incentive for a nice person to be nice, not a way to pay a lazy person to do work
And before you tell me "don't use IE" I use it because it has the cleanest, and easiest on the eye webformatting

Websites just look Fucked Up in firefox, and it keeps re-sharpening and altering text repeatedly, always coming out with a bad result
16  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: So miners, are you selling your mined btc as soon as you get them? on: January 16, 2015, 02:29:35 PM
I'm guessing most of the answers here are from home miners.

If you have something like this, you have no choice but to sell your mined BTC soon as you get them to cover electrical and cooling costs:

Perhaps thats the question he's asking "Can you big guys hold your coins for a better price and personally eat the electrical costs untill that better price, or do you have to sell them"
17  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: want to try cloudmining, where to start on: December 31, 2014, 09:33:51 PM
I would advise against any kind of cloudmining or other hosted mining, the "contract" or terms can change at any time, the place could go up in smoke, the hoster could run with all the funds, etcetc, there are So Many Things that can go wrong, and the return is Very low.

Think about it this way, if the seller of the hosted hashrate, is selling hashrate, that means that you are likely paying More than it's actually worth, otherwise, why wouldn't he just keep the hashrate all to himself?
Cloudhashers make extra profit off their hashrate by charging more than it's worth, because people without a decent amount of starting capital can't afford an Actual peice of mining hardware.

Just my input

Finally! After hundreds of attempts and logging each attempt in a text file I figured out the answer for my secret question.
I am rather saddened that Theymos would not help me recover my account, and pretty much instructed me that the error was on my end
19  Economy / Lending / Re: I am looking for a loan. 1BTC on: October 05, 2014, 01:29:28 PM
If you don't have a great reputation then your are likely going to have to offer collateral
I was lucky and started using btc as soon as I heard of it

I'd listen if this guy wasn't such a fearmonger
And what the fuck is with the "13 inbred European Bloodlines house training their inbred grandchildren" None of the videos have anything to do with that title
