5  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Mobo for mining rig compatible with Phenom X3 8400? on: June 06, 2012, 03:46:17 PM
Does anyone know if AM3 boards are compatible with the 8400? Or is it only AM2 and AM2+? Anyone kindly help me find a board to fill with this proc while allowing as many PCIe 1x-16x slots as possible?

Thanks!
6  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] i7 2600k, i5 2500k or 965 BE. on: June 03, 2012, 02:23:07 AM
Hey, just wondering is anyone clearing out a SB proc that I can buy for my rig upgrade?

Make an offer but nothing over 300 for the i7, nothing over 210 for the i5.

Or if budget won't permit is there a seller on a 965 BE? Nothing over 100.

I can negotiate shipping if I do find a seller. (I'm in Canada.)

Thanks, pwnorbpwnd

If this can't be a scam then clearly you would elaborate on some of your business plan to try and sell the idea to buy your investors into it.

Lower the P4 521 to 1 BTC shipping included and it's a deal.

Yeah, I was using the newest bit minter. I tried everything from putting as many flags as I could, to nothing at all. No core affinity to all core affinity.

It's going to be in what I believe to be a PCIE 3.0 16x, but 16x for sure. Oh well I'll find out in a month or two when I have the money to get my new GPU I guess?

So, has anyone besides me enjoyed having their favourite beverage beside the to sip on during long hours reading on a forum? Be it pop, energy drink, beer, juice, or even water.

Well, I have a little something half embarrassing, half grateful to share with you.

So picture this, me sitting here eyes glued to this very forum browsing hardware, FGPA's, and Mhash/s achievements of various users.
As I go to reach for the mouse a random can of Monster energy drink that I have not touched in hours shows up inbetween my right hand and my mouse.
BAM.
Monster everywhere.
As I sit there in shock too afraid to move as I watch the bubbly green fluid float out from under my Corsair K90 keyboard I silently utter ''Oh god no..''.
I then spring into action and unplug the keyboard right as the backlit LED keys flicker and then proceed to shut off.
My girlfriend, who is less than 3 feet behind me on the floor with her laptop says aloud, ''You didn't just do that...''.
As I sit there in shock, unable to speak as any geek who just witnessed his very EXPENSIVE peripheral get destroyed would do.
I then tilt the K90 to a 90 degree angle and silently cry inside as I watch my very drink pour out of the inside of the keyboard and onto my lap.
Luckily by the time it stops dripping I have my woman beside me plugging in a hairdryer telling me how I should not drink near my computer.

After a ten minute period of drying the crap out of the outside and trying to blow as much air as I could inside I plugged it in again to have it malfunction like mad.
After looking over the warranties, RMA's, and even considering selling it to one of the potheads in my town I decide to try to fix it again.

Long story short, after 2 hours of dabbing with a fine sponge, disassembling the whole keyboard, and drying the hell out of it, I got it to work.

Feel free to share your horror stories of the desk if you'd like. Let me know if my derpyness entertained you.

Regards, pwnorbpwnd.

 Grin

Also feel free to drop a few bitcents into my wallet if you can relate or whatever

So in my next rig or video card purchase I'm going to have to use a dummy on my current 6850 that I will keep in my rig alongside the 7970 that I'm getting?
16  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter.com * Optional Custom Miner, PPLNS, Merged mining, Newbie-Friendly! * on: May 24, 2012, 02:20:11 AM
I tried using the optional miner on Win7 32bit and got significantly less Mhash/s(usually get 225 and was getting 200-210) Was there something I was doing wrong?
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Linux Mining on: May 24, 2012, 02:16:55 AM
Buuuuut.. It usually recognizes it these days?? I haven't heard of people using dummies since 11.4?
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Racing - 2 BTC Prize! on: May 24, 2012, 12:53:19 AM
I am SO in on this, that is if my ping permits.. >_>
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Linux Mining on: May 24, 2012, 12:49:25 AM
I'm now curious as to what you actually need dummies for now. I was somehow previously led to believe it was for if you were using linux.

When mining on Ubuntu do you need dummy plugs? Thanks, just wondering, probably going to just sail the seven seas and be a pirate anyway but just for reference if I wanted to use a USB boot for my next rig.
