2  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Funds from Binance hack went to other exchanges on: May 14, 2019, 07:11:38 PM
This topic should be moved from the currency exchange section.

why? it's to alarm users that some coins might be dirty
I mean I can see why it's off topic here but still it's related
e: some coins on some exchanges.

Guys the money is gone. They are not coming back.
There is no authority that is going to give back money from a money laundering operation. If you want those coins you are going to have to bid when the government actions them off.

Lesson learned? Don't give your coins to Russian organized crime and think they are going to take care of you. Use only Legal, registered exchanges in your country.

even mybitcoin.com came back after few weeks (to allow like 50 % withdrawals).
somebody else made a good point here, they allowed a lot of people from 2nd and 3rd world countries access to crypto, countries where there are no exchanges.

can we get a sweep private key feature in mytrezor.com? please, please, with sugar on top

use case: enter private key in the web form, use as input in a payment
send the coins to either a trezor address (sweeping) or any bitcoin address (payment) with the rest going to trezor ...

workaround is using any wallet that can import priv key. would be great if mytrezor would be capable of it.

Also, on the website have you gone into advanced options and checked the box for password use? The plugin might have updated and the option might have gotten unselected. The Trezor doesn't know if you have a password. It is up to the website or wallet software to prompt for one. Without a password you have a distinct wallet with its own keys. With the password you have another wallet with different keys. It may be as simple as the option to prompt for the password having gotten unselected.

in response to 600watt this would have been my tip, see the advanced options before wiping. the wallet was most probably just fine and did not prompt for password, no need to wipe & restore. but good to read you found your way

So I tried the Trezor with the Electrum 2.0 wallet today and it worked like a charm. ...

curb your enthusiasm : ) there are a few issues if you play with electrum long enough. p.ex. it hangs when creating new wallet (like one with password, one without password), wait at least the bugfix release 2.0.1 is out. but yes, it looks very good and they did great job.

I've been using electrum development version from git for about half a year now with trezor. I only once ran into a serious issue and that has been fixed a long time ago.

on mac os it hangs when creating new wallet, passphrase with diacritic derives different keys than mytrezor.com just to mention two issues I've seen in the github issue list. both might be resolved in 2.0.1 but both of them are also kind of serious : )

So I tried the Trezor with the Electrum 2.0 wallet today and it worked like a charm. Glad to see another wallet service that has implemented the Trezor successfully. I'd like to see if you guys could make any progress with getting Mycelium or Wallet32 to implement it next Cheesy

could you do pong.mytrezor.com and use two trezors as control pads?

!!! THIS !!!  Cool

and you can win some satoshis to make it interesting? Smiley

that would turn me off. pong is in that category of games that would be indecent to play for money.
feels like training your puppy to steel neighbors' newspaper so that I don't have to buy them.

the goal of pong is to add support of multiple (concurrent) trezors to lokal pc. it could lead to some special type of multisig support. imagine you have a set of married wallets and you wait for a third signer to arrive, what will you do? why not play pong?

any guide & sources how to flash trezor with the snake game you guys cooked up during the hackathlon?
will you release it with official signatures so that the bootloader won't warn about unofficial firmware?
future plans for gaming on trezor?

Smiley not sure I'll ask our devs.

When I see how many people get excited for the snake
I'm wondering whether we are so childish or so old Smiley

oh, oh, another one.
could you do pong.mytrezor.com and use two trezors as control pads?

as to your wonder, I'd go with old(er) and childish in the evenings

edit: as for the feasibility using trezor as control pad, I'm using it with a long cable so usability is not an issue

hmmm... the Electrum wallet with Trezor plug-in seems to be make my wallet be stuck in "Synchronizing" forever.....any thoughts??

try changing electrum server. my electrum wallet also keeps syncing forever until quit and another server chosen. sometimes an electrum server does not keep up with demand.
you can choose servers manually or rely on the application to rotate them

Apparently: They decided they'd made a mistake with the licensing, and chose to use deception to backdate it, then lied about it publicly. This makes their ethics no better than those that are attempting to profit from their work. That sort of behaviour does not deserve any kind of reward or promotion.

I think they first released 1.3 firmware under gpl v3 and then changed the license. thus not lying technically about 1.3 being open source when that happened. the license change was ca 24 hours ago, quoting slush from few days ago seems like a construction.

I'm not happy with the restrictions for future releases but as long as it is open source I'm fine with that.
