Will you be offering adjusted point spreads for the Super Bowl? I'm not talking about the conventional 0.5 to 1.5 points in each direction from the nominal point spread, but rather the "NFL High" and "NFL Low" that you have offered in the past.

Lol, you OCers are a different breed of cat!  You wait 9 months for your Jalapeņos and proceed to blow them up.

I'm just giving you some good-natured grief and I feel bad for the few who've lost or damaged their Jallys.  But for us less daring individuals it can difficult for us to understand why you'd even take the risk in the first place.

With difficulty rising so quickly, wouldn't it be wiser just to mine with it straight out of the box instead of modding and experimenting with firmware hour after hour, day after day?  I start to freak out if my ASICs have any downtime.  For example, I just setup 6 ASICMiner Blades a few days ago and during the first night, the PC that was running Stratum Proxy had a Windows update and restarted.  I about cried when I saw my stats.  Hell, I get mad if one of my USB Erupters goes offline for 5 minutes, lol.

I'm a software engineer so I write code for a living and I love it. I'm certain there are tons of other software guys hanging out on this forum. With the source code in hand, asking us not to tinker with it would be like asking a mechanic to forget about dropping in the supercharger and just live with a 0-60 time of 9 seconds.

Hacking that firmware is like a sick reflex. And if we blow up that Jalapeņo, then so be it. The extra juice is worth the squeeze.

My Jalapeno has stopped working with LED1 flashing quickly. When I try to interface with it using my Dragon, I am unable to reprogram it, as I get a message: Read voltage 0.3V is outside selected device's operating range: 3.0V to 3.6V.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Any solutions?
Maybe your power supply is shot?

Thanks for suggesting inspecting the power adapter. Took a multimeter to it. Got 121.8V from the wall and 13.48V from the barrel connector so all seems good with the power adapter.

Power cycling the Jalapeno a few times has done nothing. All I get is the blinking red light from LED1 indicating a short circuit. I think my Jalapeno is dead.

Flip your cable my dude

It's been a few months since I tinkered with the code and flashed my Jalapeno so your suggestion was a good one, but flipping the cable did nothing as I had it plugged in properly. Has anybody else had a similar experience? It's maddening not being able to interface with the Jalapeno.

Thanks for all your hard work and honesty, @KosmoKramer. You've earned a respite from all this. Everybody leave the good man alone so he can enjoy some freedom.

I'm happy to see this timer, @kosmokramer. It's about time you enjoy your well earned freedom from all these induced obligations. Reminds me of a quote from The Godfather: "Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPw-3e_pzqU
9  Economy / Collectibles / Re: A new 2-sided Bitcoin Keychain on: August 26, 2013, 06:01:35 PM
After seeing pics, it makes me consider buying one

I would encourage you to buy one. I bought one and I'm happy with it. Durable, looks great, and pairs nicely with my car key. I'm thinking I'm going to have buy more. A keychain ain't much so I must like it a lot to be taking a minute of my time to endorse it. Smiley

And here it is!

I used Atmel Studio to compile the firmware, but all flashing was done with the Raspberry Pi.
BOM:
One Raspberry Pi (with SD card and support devices, keyboard, mouse, etc)
One GPIO header ribbon cable
Six hookup wires
One JTAG 5 by 2 (10 pin) ribbon cable
One (or more) Bitforce SC devices

I used Luke-Jr's instructions at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262558.0 and modified to suit the Raspberry Pi environment and using the GPIO pins.

Great job, Red_Wolf_2! Your add-on continues to make this thread one of the most interesting reads on this forum.
11  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [COUPONS AVAIL] Block Erupter USB - kosmokramer's customers get BE USB @ 0.195 on: August 21, 2013, 06:23:46 PM
Would it be possible to buy as a new customer for this pricing?

As a new customer, it will not be possible to buy new erupters at the 0.195 BTC price. There are, however, several group buys going on right now that you can take advantage of. Like this one, offering 0.33 BTC per erupter: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=277332.0

KosmoKramer is just taking care of his old customers right now with these discount coupons. I'll add that he's doing a kickass job when he really should be left alone to do his own thang with his own time.
12  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] $465 Amazon Gift Certificate for Bitcoin on: August 13, 2013, 09:21:08 PM
No one? Sad
Would anyone be interested in the $465 for 80% value, paying $372 in coin?

<raises a hand>
Fear not, I've added your item to my cart on bitmit and have checked-out.

PM replied on the bitmit site Smiley Thanks very much!

Thanks for communicating with me clearly on bitmit. Sorry things didn't work out, but you've got a better deal all lined up so you're good to go!

Both gift cards have been sold.
15  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Amazon Gift Card - 5% Discount - $50 and $100 gift cards on: August 09, 2013, 10:55:13 PM
You will need to create an account on bitmit. I have escrow enabled for the transaction there. The bitcoin price floats according to the site's quoted exchange rate. It floats to the equivalent of $47.50 -- that's a 5% discount off the $50.00 face value.

The $100 gift card has already been purchased.
