1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best value/hash video card for ethereum mining on: May 29, 2017, 05:21:52 PM
Anybody got any input on the 5xx series compared to the 3xx 4xxx series?

Ok, I gotta ask. Now that the rx 5xx series is out. What's the way to go? The 4xx series, or the 5xx Series. I advised my friend to get an 8gb model to future proof. However, all the cards I'm seeing are being price hiked. What's the way to go now? He finally has the money to buy I think.

On 1st of May we will close our getwork ports on ethermine and ethpool. Please switch to a stratum enabled miner

-Flypool

Will this software be effected?

I second this question.

Is there way to control the intensity with this miner? I can't find any option.

Lets say if I sell $6000 worth of bitcoin. That's in the 10% bracket since I'm single right? So that would be $600 taxed?

what did you pay for them? don't answer that obviously, but that's your start off point. you don't pay any tax on the non profit. if that $6000 worth of coins cost $3000 to buy then you pay 10% of $3000.

there's usually tax free allowances so if you only sell so much in a tax year and it's below the non taxed threshold then there won't be any tax to pay. i don't know what the deal is in america but that's how it is elsewhere. it sounds like you should get the opinion of a pro.

What if a person mined them all? 10% still?

I don't understand any of this shit. I don't understand how it could possibly be taxed, and I don't understand how much taxes I'll be paying. I live in America btw. I also am concerned about the level of complaints/scam warnings I see with btc-e and Bitfinex

What is the tax % on bitcoins anyway?

I believe only coinbase currently requires you to report what you sold. Are there marketplaces where people can exchange bitcoin for USD and not report?

980ti hybrid here doing 450 h/s (NO OC), whats you $/day like? Also, what mining pool and software do u use?

You should definitely overclock that card. I'm using this mining software:

With this overclock:

How do I figure out my hashrate? It's only measured in SOL's. I'm trying to calculate using a profitability calculator and I don't know how many megahashes/hashes I'm pumping.
What miner are you using?, i assume that u use nheqminer ,then your sols is your hash/s , if you are using claymore it show your hashrate in hashes so i don't think u use it.

Oh ok, easy enough. Got a 980 ti, right now I'm puling 470 hashes OC'd. Thanks guys!

for $100 you will not find any gpu which will mine your friend a single ETH

What about something around the $170 range?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Best value/hash video card for ethereum mining on: March 07, 2017, 04:22:13 PM
I have a friend who doesn't have all the money in the world. He's looking to spend around $100 for a video card for ethereum mining. What's the best value video card for ethereum mining? I looked at a mining comparison chart and still can't make up my mind. AMD r7 370 4gb?

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Is this a normal hashrate for my Gtx 980 TI via Zcash? on: January 13, 2017, 11:24:52 PM
I looked for a hardware comparison chart, but couldn't find the 980 TI.  This is what I'm getting with my MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming OC. Is this normal?

MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming OC

There's no way to mine with an nvidia card yet? Sad

Youtube videos still skip. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here. Please help.

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool us1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -dpsw x -li 50

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Question about Etherium mining intensity (computer is super slow) on: January 12, 2017, 08:43:56 PM
I remember with Bitcoin you could set the intensity of the miner, I really liked that feature. Currently I'm using QTMiner and EthMiner to mine. I can't find an intensity flag anywhere, or any miner that supports it. I'd like to be able to use my computer while I mine. Is this possible? And if so, how do I do it?
