Not noticed this before in the logs and been running the machine for over a week so I'm not sure what's caused this to just start, I also have disabled wifi is it a case of a lose connection while doing cable management? What should I look at connection wise to make sure seems ok.

Anyone know how you do an address change, as though a partial refund would be nice I need my address changed as I moved as I was sort of hoping that back end of March when I placed the order it would have shipped by start of July but as it hasn't I've moved and need to get it sent to new address.

cheers

Could someone send me the address to contact about changing my address thanks!
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [3] countdown! on: July 11, 2013, 11:29:01 PM
For any that didn't see the mailing they have the official Batch 3 refund link but it must be submitted by July 14th, Monday which is when they claim to start shipping batch 3.

Does anybody know who I contact about change of address??

Batch three Refund
Understandably, batch three has been overdue for a few weeks, whilst shipping is due to start Monday, and finish within 2 weeks. Those who do not wish to wait can fill out the form for a refund, please note the deadline for these refunds is before the 14th, once we start shipping we will not be honoring any refunds that gets posted.

Finally caught up
Scaling up production has been problematic for us in the past, but today? No more. The speed which we finished shipping batch #2 which took about 3 weeks (aside from custom issues with Serbia and Germany), batch #3 will be no different, and will be even faster. We modified the module upgrade design so it'll fit both generation 1 and generation 2 case setups, the chips are being moved to shanghai so they may begin to deliver by mid-july, trade-in list has been acquired and cleaned up. ( I hope everyone already have an account on the store. ) The Avalon team are very excited to get these things over with so we may get back to engineering.

In Summary
Trade-in emails are going out at the same time as this newsletter.
The chips is scheduled to start delivering mid-july in order which they were purchased.
Batch three starts shipping mid-july, expected to finish within 2 weeks as there is no order issues unlike batch #2
Part of batch #3 will have different design as we continue to improve our unit.
Once batch three starts shipping and no problem arises, we will begin taking orders for upgrade modules.
upgrade modules will be in-stock as there is no pre-order, delivery time frame 3-5 days.
Next generation chip is in the works, 55nm will not be very different physically for backward compatibility.
We will make announcement at least 2 month prior of 55nm release so those who purchase our generation one chip will not be in the dark.

I have conducted 3 trades so far with this user. All of them have been extremely fast, and a great price! I have purchased, 25, 50, and another 50 BTC over the past week with him using an UK bank instant transfer all has been flawless.

Offers great rates, very fast to respond, and I have to say I am dreading the day he runs out of coins because he has been so good to work with and offered such a good rate that I have bought 100 more coins then I had planned simply because working with him has been so easy and his rates for bigger purchases has been so good!

I found him on localbitcoins

https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/Netizen/

Look no further, or better yet do leave his coins for me please!

Did you find the PayPal you needed? I can do PayPal but not instant has to come with a password in a signed for bit of post but let me know if your still interested.

Happy to do it in parts so that you pay some .5 BTC up front and I pay going rate on PayPal then carry out the rest of transaction upon signing for delivery.

I have heard lots of suggestions about this Virwox but as someone who has never heard of Second Life or any online world is this any good to us?? I had heard someone say something about starting a new account and buying money in there but then because the account was new getting stuck there etc.

Anyone got a simple explanation in a couple sentences about the benefits of Virwox and is it any good if we have never used a Second Life or understand anything they are talking about on that site?

Used BlockChain.Info another couple times to convert GBP to BTC with Barclays PingIt and it's just amazing. Did a conversion for £150, then £80 and the second £80 was done in less than half an hour!
14  Economy / Currency exchange / WTS £80 MoneyBookers / Skrill & $55 USD Payza/AlertPay on: September 24, 2012, 07:34:21 AM
In first starting to get BTC back in August I must have opened up 25 various accounts on all sorts of different e-currency, exchanges, etc trying to find the fastest, and most money effective, ways as a UK resident but from the US to get BitCoins.

In doing this I'm now pretty sorted but have some balance remaining that I'm hoping to cash out of, preferably into BTC but open to discussion.

The biggest is £80 in MoneyBookers

I also have $55 in a Payza account

Anyone interested? Or want to recommend a safe good way to get that money into more useable forms. I am in the process of using UWCFS which will take the MoneyBookers, which you can then use UWCFS to fund OKPay but UWCFS requires a secondary verification which means notirized copies of documents physically mailed to CZ and though I am working on this, I would much rather cash it out fast then go through all of that hassle.
15  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: £££ GBP > BTC on: September 22, 2012, 06:48:52 PM
Blockchain.info just launched a way to buy BitCoins with £ GBP using the new Barclay app PingIt which links to your bank account. You simply tell the website how much £ you will transfer and it says the current BTC price. It gives you the phone number, and a reference number which you need to put in the message.

It then appears as BitCoins like an hour later. Best way ever in UK, it's what I have been waiting for, just launched and fantastic!

Thanks and I can confirm that the speed is super fast now. After the sucess of the first small £16 went through and was happy with the exchange given etc which I was.

I did a PingIt for £150 after watching the coin on a bit of a drop in the afternoon and waiting for it to reflect this on the BlockChain.Info PingIt and initiated the PingIt when it was at £7.61 and less than an hour later the nearly 20 BTC arrived. This is the exact sort of quick turn around time that the UK community has needed and that I have been trying to find! The fact that I can still watch the market and buy quickly at a time when I am happy with the rate is fantastic!

I know it's probably a bit out of the remit of what you had originally ever intended the site to do, but is there any thoughts of expanding this into more of an exchange type function where you could perhaps fund £ to a BlockChain.Info Voucher and then say instantly use the voucher say 3 weeks later if exchange for BTC were at a rate you wanted or more so, so that the likes of MtGox, and other Exchanges could begin to trade in BlockChain.Info Vouchers? That is the last bit of the puzzle missing for me now, I'm so happy I can instantly buy and fund BTC, now all I would love to be able to do is quickly fund to a Voucher recognised by BTC-E, or BitStamp or some other Exchange, and traded quickly to other E-Currency's as well.

As I said I understand this may be way beyond any functionality that you intended to develop but I thought it was worth asking? If not to full on vouchers what about some sort of queue to be able to say setup a PingIt funding if the rate hit's a certain level?

Thanks for the insight in to UKash, it doesn't surprise me at all that they wouldn't want to have UKash tied to BTC but interesting that they might be looking to use their existing infrastructure to roll out a separate scheme, which is fine with me. It again satisfies the other missing piece of the puzzle requested above.

Anyways fantastic work, any chance funding will come to the iPhone app? Would be so great to be able to start the PingIt from the app and then switch over to Barclays to finish it!
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to buy bitcoins on: September 22, 2012, 02:35:04 PM
I used it today and it was fantastic! After having struggled for months getting BitCoins in the UK, tried UKash vouchers, OKPay, Mt, Sango, all of them worked, all the fast ways were huge rip off's and MtGox was the most reliable for me though always took a few days for GBP to hit my account and went through loads of various 24 hour lock outs or can't withdraw because password change, security features that made it especially frustrating not knowing or being warned about them. Overall I have a very poor impression of buying BTC in the UK especially after seeing how easy it can be in other country's and not understanding why in London which is normally so connected it was so hard!

Until this weekend when I found the new PingIt funding option of BlockChain.Info

My friend has a Barclay's account so I asked him to do a test for me of £16 (enough to buy 2 BTC) As the verification for the PingIt for me as a Non Barclays account holder who hadn't setup PingIt wasn't going to finish until Monday. These are my results which I posted in another thread, The summary all VERY positive, super excited about this method, took 7 hours to hit my BlockChain.Info wallet and that was with doing the PingIt at 5am on a Saturday morning.

Orig Post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=102965.msg1212054#msg1212054

The £16 hit my BlockChain.info Wallet this afternoon from Barclay's PingIt app!

To convert GBP to BitCoin using PingIt I spent £16 and received 2.08 BTC or £ 7.69 per BTC. Looking at the trade history of MtGox GBP when the PingIt was sent around 5:30am the trade history between 3:30am and now nearly always traded at 7.69 or higher, only a few trades dipped down to 7.6 (about 9 trades) but the majority were all 7.69 or above peaking at 7.75 so overall a very good price for the BitCoins themselves. At the moment they are also not charging any fee.

The time was very fast, one of the fastest ways I have been able to electronically purchase BTC in the UK at such a good rate. Sent the money with PingIt at 5:35am and the BitCoins reached my wallet at 12:25 so under 7 hours on a Saturday early morning. This is also after the site wasn't working for many hours so I'm not sure if this made the time any slower because of a back log, I'm also not sure how automated the system is to know whether or not the fact it was such a weird time and day. I will be interested to do another transaction during normal working hours during the week and see if the turn around time is any faster.

Well done BlockChain.Info this is such a HUGE step forward for the UK I have struggled to get coins since I started and have been so jelous of the US and how easy it is to get BTC and get it fast.

I would still love to see a Dwolla/UKash/Voucher system roll out over here so that you can pop to a shop no more than a few miles away hand over GBP for a code that MtGox or another major exchange could simply take and give you funds to then put offers for coins on. When the UK hits that level I will be very pleased.

As I've seen stated by some other users before, the UK is lagging behind on this but the adoption is growing and once it catches on is going to be a huge market here. If I had the money to invest and fund a company that could roll out an infrastructure here I would in a second as it's growing fast here and is only a matter of months before this market has company's that are capitalising on this growth and unlike BlockChain.Info who have no real competitor to their PingIt funding method and yet aren't charging huge fee's and making a fortune as UK users will pay it as they have no choice!

Great job BlockChain.Info I look forward to seeing other UK entities step up and create solutions as fast and competitive! Anyone want to share with me what is holding back solutions such as the UKash style cash to a shop for a voucher redeemable for BitCoin Exchange funding. I would absolutely love to be a part of getting something like this going over here, even if on a small scale, targeting maybe just a few key central london/city shops.

I saw that last night and nearly fainted but then all night it would just let you type the amount and take you to a blank screen! Thankfully the problem resolved itself and today it appeared so I've sent over a test amount to buy 2 BTC and just waiting for it to appear in my wallet.

I sent the PingIt to BlockChain.Info at 5:37am and it's now 6:50 so almost an hour and a half. I will try and update with the full details of exactly how long it took and how much BTC for GBP was received.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: UKash GBP £60 to MtGox or BTC on: September 03, 2012, 09:30:39 PM
For anyone interested I managed to do the following: UKash website converted to USD
£60 = $92.32

I used CashU.Com to add the USD Voucher to CashU my CashU Balance:
$84.14

I then used Add Funds from MtGox and selected OKPay to then use CashU as a funding source

An Hour later MtGox in my USD account has a balance of: $75.35

The entire process took about an hour, the longest part was waiting for the OKPay to deliver the money to MtGox.

If I were to buy at the current MtGox market order at $10.52 I would get 7.28 BTC

so in the end: £60 UKash = 7.28 BTC

so 1 BTC = £8.24 UKash GBP done this way The current MtGox Market Buy is £6.74 so £1.50 per BitCoin more, a full 20%

So For anyone interested in offers with 15% or less fees for a quick conversion the math is def there for that.
