Greetings all,

We are a family-owned short-term rental/suite hotel in downtown Toronto, Canada and just started getting more BTC guests this year.

To celebrate the success of Bitcoin, we have decided to experiment and exclusively offer the bitcoin community 40-50% off our already competitive rates for 3+ night stays. (Valid for arrivals from today until March 1, 2014)

For those who are interested please take a look at our site : http://www.urbanlivingsuites.com

2  Bitcoin / Mining / Make Mining Rig into Set-top box on: January 02, 2012, 07:51:42 AM
Hello,

Anybody out there think of working with a designer and manufacturer to make mining rigs that market as set-top boxes (with all the standard features).

Think of the what an amazing UI and experience can be achieved with all that power.

I would imagine with a better form factor and some hype it would be more appealing to the average tech geek.

Thoughts?

5  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Develop an Exchange on: May 04, 2011, 06:00:57 AM
Hello all,

I realize that I am too busy to set up my exchange.

Is there anyone out there willing to do this in exchange for credit from our bartering network?

6  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Marketplace Tag Cloud Suggestion on: May 03, 2011, 03:48:27 AM
If any admins are interested, here is where you can get the Tagging System Mod for Simple Machines Forum.

Would be cool to tag the Items for Sale in the Marketplace.
7  Other / Off-topic / Brand Management on: March 26, 2011, 11:06:40 PM
Hello all,

For those who want Bitcoin to reach outside of the geek domain and into regular-ish users, it would be wise to plan a professional logo (think Paypal, Visa), color scheme, and perhaps even site templates for related third party services (e.g. website, forum, market, auction, financial services,...).

The more professional (and genuine!) the Bitcoin brand appears the more it inspires merchants and consumers to adopt it.

Last thing we want is a fragmented, convoluted image to convince outsiders to entrust their accumulated-perceived-value-faith in.  Smiley Just think how good we'll look when the fiat funny money shows its true face value!

God bless.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Reputation Suggestions on: March 23, 2011, 04:52:29 AM
Hello,

Why not include Heatware, Paypal verified, ebay information marketplace trading?
9  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Marketplace Tag Cloud Suggestion on: March 23, 2011, 04:51:02 AM
Those two examples are mods for Simple Machines Forums, so it should work.

Or something like this:

I think it would be cool if a tag cloud be located above the menu bar. What do people think?
11  Economy / Marketplace / Marketplace Tag Cloud Suggestion on: March 22, 2011, 11:53:58 PM
Hello all,

Since I noticed that Marketplace is the Bitcoin users primary source for shopping I thought it could be more usable to have an ever growing tag cloud than a long list of posts.

Maybe the admins here can implement something like this mod for Marketplace:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=579

Otherwise, a directory based on Marketplace tags would also be great.
12  Economy / Marketplace / Re: We have XXX sites, but where are the camsites/amateurs on cam? on: March 22, 2011, 09:53:18 PM
Wow.... any developers interested in a job? lol

I seriously believe one of the best ways to create buzz and early spikes in demand for BTC is via "high quality entertainment" sites.

Great.

Any recommendations for hosting? I don't want to mix it with my current provider in case issues arise.

This will be exchanging barter currencies for Bitcoin.
14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Kickstarter.com-style fund raising on: March 22, 2011, 06:07:07 AM
Would be great to setup something like Kickstarter.com within the Bitcoin community in order to better raise funds and see what people will support.

Love it!
15  Economy / Marketplace / Develop an Exchange on: March 22, 2011, 05:49:26 AM
Hello all,

Looking to develop an exchange in Canada. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Any repository?
Legal?
Hosting?

Thanks!
16  Economy / Marketplace / Re: We have XXX sites, but where are the camsites/amateurs on cam? on: March 22, 2011, 05:47:05 AM
Hello,

I have someone considering integrating Bitcoin into their popular cam site.

They are asking two thing:

#1 what it would cost to implement

#2 how many people this could potentially bring us

Does anyone have any insights?

Sure.

Just PM me before you come to confirm if we still have the art you want in stock.

18  Economy / Marketplace / Why isn't there a Craigslist for Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2011, 07:49:33 PM
Any classified site would do.

Preferably a P2P posting system.
19  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Toronto and Canadian Bitcoin merchants on: March 18, 2011, 07:48:36 PM
Also, have some digital photo frames for sale.
