It is a demo site right now, but I want to know if I should pay for this site, assuming it gets better.

In demo mode, my host first makes you do a Captcha before you seee my actual site.  Angry

Please get past that  Captcha and let me know what you think so far! Please!

Should I pay X dollars a month for this page, ever?

or produce guaranteed unique cryptographic tokens that are impossible to fake, rework, deteriorate or replace, for the purpose of economical utility and reduced resources waste.

This one has my vote.

1 BTC : 20 Bucks (atm)
1 BTC : 5 Bucks (Some time in the future)
Cure for AIDS : Priceless
You have the values of BTC wrongly, in the future 1 BTC will be worth more than it is today. AIDS is still treatable (you can live 35 years more with anti-viral medication, you can have children that are AIDS free with proper care and you can prevent AIDS by using a 0.5$ prophylactic). Scientists are already working on some vaccines at the moment and the answer is not found in computation.

But if you think you want to help the world while receiving the costs of doing so, go ahead, nobody's stopping you.

That is the worst logic I've ever heard. Are you saying a condom cures somebody already sick with AIDS? And where does the condom plan come in for IV drug users...they aren't human enough to try to save? Some people make me sick. And you have no clue how much computation you take for granted. How do you think we keep coming up with new medicines? How do you think our planes, cars, and microchips get designed? Computation is a keystone of sceen for potential biological activity of a drug? enough said, you were talking out of your sphincter

I have sworn by lastpass for over a year. All you have to do is how they implement it...then you know how impossibly useless the data they keep on their servers is....only you have the key, and you can add more that just a traditional password...i use a grid for every new device that only I and lastpass know. And, tomorrow, I'm getting 2 yubikeys to complete my little data safe. For my pc, I rely on free Avira andtivirus and free comodo firewall. THat has served me pretty well, but I added this Zemana Anti-logger last week and it is like something out of a dream. If all keylogging/etc is impossible, then a virus wouldn't be able to grab my info anyway!! I was so happy with the Anitlogger (i had been looking for a decade for just this functionality in security software) that I bought their Malware program (much cheaper, much less impressive, but still high ratings and stuff). And regularly backup to 3 seperate devices with 3 different truecrypt drives with all different LONG passwords.....THANK YOU LastPass! (I pay for premium lastpass...I like to be able to get the service on my cell, and five bucks is nothing for what I get in return)

Ever since I started crunching for bitcoin, I've felt bad about shtting down my boinc projects...I'm a scientist at heart, but I have no job and this is one of my few investments...(I'm young..and not paying the electric bills Smiley )

edit:
I guess I can get by on bitcoin and namecoin for pc and playstation grid for my science needs...they've added a lot of different projects since last i checked! HIV, Cancer protease research (i wouldn't put a bet on that one), and others...

I made a site to sort of collate all of the free bitcoin sites. I seem to be the only one using it, but still making those bit-pennies Smiley

If people could give tips on how to improve it, I'd be grateful!

How would you go about preventing BOTS and spammers?
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: n00b question on bitcoin extraction on: August 19, 2012, 12:43:21 AM
I just have usb sticks (truecrypt) and a DVD-RAM backup (in the event of an electromagnetic field or solar burst frying my sticks). I do have a paper copy in my safe, but its way outdated (like the OP said, a real hassle).

i never have understand why BlockChain.info is necessary, you can do everything without it...

BlockChain.info provides a valuable service. You don't have to wait for a blockchain to load, you just see what is happening live on BlockChain.info

I've used Lastpass for over a year now (with a few optional security features switched on, of course) and even if they were hacked, my data only exists as crypted nonsense....heck, guys would have to invade my home to even try to get the keys they would need to make sense of stolen Lastpass server data. I trust LastPass because they understand data security, at least when storing customer "data/rubbish".

People who are into bitcoins what the system to thrive. I've never even owned a single whole bitcoin, but I still give back to the faucet sites that helped me out. And.....a "bitcoin future" would be breathtaking to see unfold.

Gambling is an entertaining (even addictive) activity, but it is by no means an investment vehicle. I almost cry when I even think about it. One of those things millions of people look to for hope of riches, and they are all just robbing themselves. Fun being the bookie or casino though :/
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust No One on: August 18, 2012, 06:46:22 AM
To the OP: to my friends I'm apparently super paranoid (just in general), and your level of paranoia makes me wonder how you got into bitcoins in the first place... cough...silkroad....just kidding. But you will live a much longer, happier, truly richer life if you could turn your paranoia into "ok, so I made it really secure" and then just STOP thinking about it. That's what works best for people with OCD, and it works for everybody else, as well.

Well, at least the faucets have been working better here in mid-August. Anf these restrictions are a little confusing...

i believe i am the exception when it comes to people who use windows, but i have:
a) never used virus prevention program
and
b) never had a virus.

practice common sense when downloading and using software on a windows machine. this should be your credo.

if you are really worried, you should read and follow the instructions given on another post about "how to secure your wallet".
basically you create a new "savings" wallet on a known virus-free OS and back it up. you should only SEND money to it, and should only ACCESS it from a known virus-free os.

p.s. i have a program that will generate 50382 FREE BTC! PM ME FOR LENK TEU DOWNLOEDS!9

I just, a few hours ago, spent $40 on a few licenses for the best Anti-Keylogger program "Zemana AntiLogger" and though I have bee searching for something like this for years, it didn't find anything on my systems. Common sense goes a long ways when it comes to computer security. I think of it as my castle....defend the villagers and prevent mischievous intruders still a good strategy. Well..not trying to sell that, just came to mind.

But when I read on google news about the trojan.....I totally freaked: huge botnets generating bitcoins and 51%ing the whole shebang!

I'm BitcoinJayk. I've had an on/off interest in bitcoins for a few years. Several lost wallets later, here I am to do it right, if on an only for-fun scale right now. Hope the Jalapeno can help me out in the future or i'm stuck mining billionths of bitcoins a week Smiley

Glad to be here with all of you. Nice to see so many on the forum,  banks might just be getting what they deserve...!
