This appears to be good advice considering the subject matter involved in this site.

I use KeePassX on my OSX machine, my android phone and my Linux machines, all synced with dropbox. Works great, and is very secure. Just don't forget to lock it if you walk away in public!

I personally don't like LastPass but that's because i've had bad issues with it such as it screwing up when i had the drive itself fully encrypted via TrueCrypt.

You've read my forum signature. That's enough social interaction for one day.

A lot of this is common sense, but thank you for reminding us again to use it.
A question though, how bad ARE the coin thieves out there. Yes I know it can happen to anyone but is it like a major tidal wave going with people trying to steal them or is this more of a general caution topic?
Thank you Aaron

I've used Lastpass for over a year now (with a few optional security features switched on, of course) and even if they were hacked, my data only exists as crypted nonsense....heck, guys would have to invade my home to even try to get the keys they would need to make sense of stolen Lastpass server data. I trust LastPass because they understand data security, at least when storing customer "data/rubbish".

I love Keepass. It has a nice android client so I always have my passwords with me and its autotype feature is nice on sites that don't allow pasting passwords. It will also automatically dump the clipboard after a specified time. On another point, you'd have to hit me with a pretty big wrench to get my password. Obligatory XKCD:

I have sworn by lastpass for over a year. All you have to do is how they implement it...then you know how impossibly useless the data they keep on their servers is....only you have the key, and you can add more that just a traditional password...i use a grid for every new device that only I and lastpass know. And, tomorrow, I'm getting 2 yubikeys to complete my little data safe. For my pc, I rely on free Avira andtivirus and free comodo firewall. THat has served me pretty well, but I added this Zemana Anti-logger last week and it is like something out of a dream. If all keylogging/etc is impossible, then a virus wouldn't be able to grab my info anyway!! I was so happy with the Anitlogger (i had been looking for a decade for just this functionality in security software) that I bought their Malware program (much cheaper, much less impressive, but still high ratings and stuff). And regularly backup to 3 seperate devices with 3 different truecrypt drives with all different LONG passwords.....THANK YOU LastPass! (I pay for premium lastpass...I like to be able to get the service on my cell, and five bucks is nothing for what I get in return)

Thanks for the tips. I use GAuth whenever possible (such as on GLBSE), but I never did like password vaults.
