1  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need 2 BTC ASAP - will pay $25 - can pay with paypal, GC - lotsa trades here on: November 04, 2012, 11:29:31 PM
If I don't respond that is because it was filled by Dave. I just sent the GC to Dave, hopefully he will pop in and say when he got it.
2  Economy / Currency exchange / Need 2 BTC ASAP - will pay $25 - can pay with paypal, GC - lotsa trades here on: November 04, 2012, 10:49:15 PM
I've bought many times here, spent over 2k$ over the past couple months (mainly with BCB, but also IveBeenBit).

I need 2 BTC asap - can only pay thru paypal, or amazon GC (amazon GC's are bought directly thru amazon as a gift, only the email address you give me sees the number, no one else can ever spend)

Please let me know if you can help.
3  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: selling 7.5 BTC @11.6 USD on: November 02, 2012, 03:18:16 PM
Ill buy it - Ive been buying here for a couple months now, and I don't charge back on my paypal. I've spent quite a bit with bcb, you could verify with him. Let me know -
4  Economy / Currency exchange / Need to buy 35 BTC - regular buyer here - I only have Paypal or GC's though on: October 18, 2012, 09:57:55 PM
Title says it all. I am a regular buyer here, but I only have paypal or gift cards. I am a 100% safe person to transact with. The Amazon GC's are perfectly safe - I never see the number, I buy the GC through Amazon's standard gift procedure, and the number is directly sent to your email without anyone else being able to see it. Or if you have PayPal, I would happily do that. I am well over $1000 with paypal payments to BCB - feel free to verify this. I never, ever charge back because I need about 60 or more moth regularly, so I would never bite the hand that feeds here.

Ive also bought with IveBeenBit with Amazon GC - again, feel free to confirm this - he was directly email the Amazon GC from Amazon, and even if I wanted to I have no way of seeing the number.

So I need 35, and I can pay your asking price through Amazon GC's (or other GC of your choice) or Paypal. You must have verifiable trade rep like me, if I am unsure of your honestly, we can still trade, but it will be in small increments.

Looks like BCB might be able to - hold off on any replies - Ill update if he/she cant.
7  Economy / Currency exchange / Need to buy 27 btc - paypal, GC's, etc - on: September 27, 2012, 08:39:42 PM
I have bought a lot of bitcoins from BCB and IveBeenBit -

I am a straight up buyer and you could confirm with BCB or Ivebeenbit - I dont do charge backs or anything like that. I usually buy about 30 per week. Looks like the few people I have been buying from are actually running low or else I would just buy through them.

Anyhow - I am offering 13$ per BTC - feel free to verify my honesty.

If you only have a few, Ill take those until I hit my 27.
8  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need 25 Bitcoins - I can give paypal or amazon GC - on: September 06, 2012, 03:03:19 AM
As always, thanks BCB - he/she is a straight up person should you need btc...
9  Economy / Currency exchange / Need 25 Bitcoins - I can give paypal or amazon GC - on: September 06, 2012, 12:58:17 AM
Looking to buy bitcoins, I can only offer paypal or amazon GC -

Amazon GC is sent directly to the email you specify - I never see the certificate numbers.

Paypal sent as gift -

I've traded with BCB and I'veBeenBit - I am honest and do not charge back.

It is called a credit card.
Quote
"Hi my card was stolen. Looks like the thief bought a bunch of [amazon gift cards], [steam games], [newegg giftcards], [etc] with it.  I would like to file a chargeback".
Anything bought with a credit card can be charged back.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chargeback

Since you doubt our credability maybe you trust the admin:
Money sent through PayPal and any other money transfer service that accepts credit cards can be easily reversed by the sender, even after several weeks. Therefore, you should only accept PayPal in trades with people you trust very highly.

This is why newbies are not likely to sell their PayPal USD for bitcoins successfully.

Some other services that are not totally safe:
- Most gift cards.
- Moneypak
- AlertPay
- Paysafecards
- Dwolla
- Western Union (they reportedly will sue the recipient to recover money in some cases)

Ok, then you are admitting you have no proof that an Amazon gift card has ever been reversed and the Amazon gift card holder has ever been left holding the bag. Its possible for you to move through walls according to quantum mechanics, but it doesn't mean it will ever happen in your life time. I'm reasonable, Ill accept a couple non-credible sources that none of which even mention Amazon Gift Cards, that in an odd, parallel universe a reversal could happen, despite the billions sold through Amazon Gift Cards without any issue.

The only real issue I can see is using paypal, I know how easily it can be charged back even months after the exchange. Funny you mention how unsafe (albeit without a shred of proof) Amazon gift cards are when you use the most notorious of them all Paypal, to make deposits into your customer's accounts. Amazon is not going to come back and say - "Hey you, that 100$ gift card came back as a charge back, therefore we are demanding payment of 100$". Has never happened, doubt it ever will. Amazon would not inject that kind of uncertainty into their GC's. They make too much money with them.

But anyhow, I just bought 20 from BCB anyways. No reason to derail this thread any longer as I dont need anymore this week.

BCB is awesome - thanks man!
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending BTC is very risky on: August 29, 2012, 06:31:41 PM
The responsible lendees would take out a Long position somehow...

Imagine bullion dealers have to deal with such things daily. But how to do it with btc and not increase risk of that hedging failing at the same time?

quoted for truth -

I hold a lot of physical bullion. And it can both ways - I sell 20 ounces, wait till payment clears, and then when I box them up for shipment, I am sending out a couple hundred $ more in value.

It burns a little, but it also evens out tho - I would argue dips and rises are kind of hand in hand - for each rise I had to swallow, some dips happen between purchase and ship date, making it ok.
13  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 10 Bitcoins for USD on: August 29, 2012, 05:36:22 PM
I never said you were a scammer, interesting that you thought it was direct at you.

Still sending card first doesn't mean a whole lot.
Not when it can be charged back up to 180 days later.

I understand you have an agenda here, but I would really like to see proof of your claims that amazon gift cards can be charged back to the user once claimed -

Any credible source would be fine, it just has to meet the criteria that someone accepted the amazon gift card, then got stuck holding the bill once spent.

If you have any credibility and don't go around making statements you cant back up, this should be easy for you to provide.

14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So what happens to lost bit coins? on: August 29, 2012, 04:56:26 PM
Didn't consider that part - if we have no real way of knowing, then the effect should be negligible.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / So what happens to lost bit coins? on: August 29, 2012, 04:12:46 PM
If its not only possible, but pretty easy to lose your wallet info - a bunch of people have lost their wallet info by now.

What happens with that currency? If its gone forever, then the bit coin pool would be constantly lowering, regardless of how low a rate, right? Which would mean value should sky rocket?
16  Economy / Services / Re: Buying bit coins via PayPal, Amazon Gift card, visa gift card, etc - on: August 29, 2012, 04:03:06 PM
Realized this was the wrong area to post this, sorry about that, shouldve posted in the other topic about exchanging for currencies.

Anyhow, pending trade with BCB - Ill update on how this goes.
17  Economy / Services / Buying bit coins via PayPal, Amazon Gift card, visa gift card, etc - on: August 29, 2012, 03:22:41 PM
Title says it all. Looking to buy from trusted, reputable seller here on a regular basis. I need 20 - 25 a week until my dwolla finishes its 30 day period thingy.

Ill pay mt gox low price if I send first, mt gox high if you send first. All I ask is that you have a rep around here - I took a chance and got lucky with I'veBeenBit, but I want to do 10 coin trades (50/50 trade) now with someone trusted and closer to market prices.

Only trade rep so far here -
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104159.0

But I also have ebay feedback for buying them off of there with PayPal.

**edit - I will trade with other newbies like me, but would do smaller transactions, like single or 2 coin transactions...

19  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 10 Bitcoins for USD on: August 29, 2012, 01:00:49 PM
