It is called a credit card.
"Hi my card was stolen. Looks like the thief bought a bunch of [amazon gift cards], [steam games], [newegg giftcards], [etc] with it. I would like to file a chargeback".
Anything bought with a credit card can be charged back.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChargebackSince you doubt our credability maybe you trust the admin:
Money sent through PayPal and any other money transfer service that accepts credit cards can be easily reversed by the sender, even after several weeks. Therefore, you should only accept PayPal in trades with people you trust very highly.
This is why newbies are not likely to sell their PayPal USD for bitcoins successfully.
Some other services that are not totally safe:
- Most gift cards.
- Moneypak
- AlertPay
- Paysafecards
- Dwolla
- Western Union (they reportedly will sue the recipient to recover money in some cases)
Ok, then you are admitting you have no proof that an Amazon gift card has ever been reversed and the Amazon gift card holder has ever been left holding the bag. Its possible for you to move through walls according to quantum mechanics, but it doesn't mean it will ever happen in your life time. I'm reasonable, Ill accept a couple non-credible sources that none of which even mention Amazon Gift Cards, that in an odd, parallel universe a reversal could happen, despite the billions sold through Amazon Gift Cards without any issue.
The only real issue I can see is using paypal, I know how easily it can be charged back even months after the exchange. Funny you mention how unsafe (albeit without a shred of proof) Amazon gift cards are when you use the most notorious of them all Paypal, to make deposits into your customer's accounts. Amazon is not going to come back and say - "Hey you, that 100$ gift card came back as a charge back, therefore we are demanding payment of 100$". Has never happened, doubt it ever will. Amazon would not inject that kind of uncertainty into their GC's. They make too much money with them.
But anyhow, I just bought 20 from BCB anyways. No reason to derail this thread any longer as I dont need anymore this week.
