Thanks guys. I'll give it a go. Smiley

Have you tried to broadcast it?

I don't know how. I'm using a blockchain wallet and I don't see any options for rebroadcasting or modifying the transaction fee or anything.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Unconfirmed(54hrs) on: August 22, 2017, 10:51:21 PM
Hey,

I have a transaction with 0 confirms and it's been stuck for about 54hrs now. I read the "All about stuck..." thread, or the OP from that thread. I don't really understand how bitcoin works. I just know that whenever I've used it in the past its worked. So I'm kind of at a loss. If it doesn't confirm, will the money come back to my wallet or is it lost for good? If it does come back how long before that happens usually?

Here's the tx info: https://blockchain.info/tx/a73b4021ed2011152b3fa9ee6c2c9a329b85065941dbb6b329f8e0a97dfb0826

Any advice is appreciated, thanks. Smiley

The fees on both of your transactions are actually all alright so you shouldn't worry about it at all.

The only thing you can do currently is to use a transaction accelerator to just the one from viabtc which is free.

Or you can wait, of course.

I think I'm going to give it till morning and see if it confirms overnight. After that I'll take a look at viabtc. Thanks. Smiley

Edit:

Ha. Finally got 1/3 confirms on the incoming tx. So it's definitely not stuck in the aether.

I don't know what fee the sender used( I bought from a trusted website ). But it's coming in to a blockchain wallet.

Tx details. https://blockchain.info/tx/f6b15ffd6317a8f447fa65b7fe640c59675e64ffd6734cb0640065e842c24a51
This transaction pays a decent fee, but it will still be a little delayed by it. The main issue with your transaction is that it spends from an unconfirmed transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/0c340ea899631f4d6b2cd579c32d3e973059b76bf65fe2b42752593a068bb778 which also spends from another unconfirmed transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/625b3f2c573defa3b0458d1568ff04705749e7676defa93945c3b529c1dade9a. Your transaction cannot confirm until both of these unconfirmed transactions confirm as well.

Thanks. I guess I'll just sit on it and wait. Smiley

I've been waiting almost 3 hours for a single confirm on a receive.

Okay.  Did you use the default fee?  Are you also using blockchain.info?

Can you post the transaction link so we can check if you paid the proper fees and how many inputs and outputs in this transaction?

Sure. Not sure about the info you need but I can post a screen. I know it can be checked on the chain but as I said I'm a newb so don't know how. This is the first time I've had a problem. As you can see I had a couple transfers after and those went through quickly and without problem.

If you need more info just let me know( and tell me how to get it Smiley ).

Have you paid enough fees in your transaction? How much fee did you pay and how big was your transaction in bytes? If you haven't paid enough fees per byte, it may never confirm. It would help if you post your transaction id and other members can tell you why it isn't confirming. If you want to keep it private, it is ok.

Thanks but it actually started confirming about an hour after I made the post. I'm not sure how big it was in bytes. It was only 0.2 BTC. The transaction fee was whatever the default is set to in bitcoin-qt.

Yes there is a currently an ongoing DoS attack which is preventing blocks from being able to have many transactions.

Thanks. Smiley

If one of the transaction outputs went to you, you can attempt a CPFP transaction. Otherwise you can just wait.

Don't know what any of that means so I'll just wait. Cheesy

Hi,

I've had a transaction waiting for just over 5 hours with 0 confirmations. Should I just leave it and pray or is there something I should be doing on my end.

I'm new to bitcoins and I've never had any problems with them before so I don't know the basic problems that can occur or how to resolve them. I found this site when I got worried about the lack of confirms and googled for some info. Some of the threads I've read here mentioned DoS attacks such as this one( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1269871.0 ).

Is that why it's taking so long?

Thanks.
