1  Economy / Economics / Re: Why don't we see US$ hyperinflation? on: April 03, 2014, 08:41:47 AM
Almost anybody surfing these forums is familiar with Austrian economic school views and the drill that goes along following lines:

- massive US debt
- even bigger unfunded liabilites
- massive FED printing of money
- mismanagement, debasing of currency has led (across space and time) to one thing and one thing only which is hyperinflation

Sitload of books predict the financial doomsday - some of them now almost a decade old.

So how come US and it's counterfeited dollar are still afloat? Why isn't it happening?

Alex Jones was wrong.

NoWhammies, Don't sell HORDE  Grin

I wish I could, but the writing is on the wall. I'm still keeping as much BTC as I can but I'm getting my original investment of USD out. It makes me sick to have to do this but I can just hear the haters now with their Tulip/Ponzi scheme crap and talking to me like I got taken and saying they feel sorry for me and shit.

I'm just going to put a gun in my mouth  Cheesy

No seriously, I'm selling right now. I'm taking the same amount out as I have in. I'm still way ahead, but this saddens me. I've watched this market for about 2 years and it has never done this. When it would crash before it would jump right back. Now it's just a steady decline, followed by a steep decline, followed by more steady decline.  Sad

8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Questions I can't answer on: March 01, 2014, 08:01:31 AM
Ok, so a facebook friend asked:

FTA: "He said a weakness in the exchange's systems was behind a massive loss of the virtual currency involving 750,000 bitcoins from users and 100,000 of the company's own bitcoins."

So 850,000 bitcoins didn't vanish?

FTA: "It remains unclear if the missing bitcoins were stolen, voided by technological flaws or both."

Seriously, I thought every Bitcoin exchange was verifiable. So how can what happened to the missing Bitcoins be unclear?

What would you say to him?

First off, what is FTA?

Second, I was under the impression that Bitcoins can't "vanish" or be "voided" as there would be holes in the Blockchain.

Also since mining verifies the blockchain wouldn't the stolen bitcoins be able to be tracked to a specific wallet address?

 Huh

LOL!! You're right, it is a colossal waste of time, but it was damn fun, and I can't be more proud of my men. They preformed with honor and gallantry. Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

Is this because the best way to convince someone you are right about something is to troll and insult them?

[facepalm]

You're right. I guess being involved with Bitcoin for a while puts one naturally on the defensive. For the record I haven't made any comments on that Yahoo page, and I doubt many of those viewers will see this thread.

Now you're a dick AND a pussy. congrats

YEA! That's the spirit xbudahx!! There is no room for understanding and compassion in a time of war! I promote you to Sargent in the Bitcoin Army! Congradulations! Keep up the good work and you just might get a commission!
